That day, it was Gu Zhiyun's turn to stay with Anzi at the hospital, and Anzi was very happy.

Although it's summer vacation, Gu Zhiyun isn't having an easy time.
Old Xu's project team did not stop during the holidays, and Gu Zhiyun spent four days a week in the laboratory.
Recently, Mr. Xu has been planning a practical project: he will organize a group of graduate students to visit the National Academy of Space Science, including Gu Zhiyun and Yang Xuechang.
These past few days, he has been going through a lot of materials and organizing notes, and he is even busier than when he was in school.
But no matter how busy he was, Gu Zhiyun never forgot to take time to visit Anzi.
Anzi especially cherished the time Gu Zhiyun spent with her at the hospital.
Now there are several toy models on his bedside table: airplanes, tanks, armored vehicles, and even rockets and missiles, all made for him by Gu Zhiyun out of wood.
Anzi loves these toys so much that she even sleeps with them in her blankets at night.
Once, the grandson of the patient in the next bed came to visit his grandfather who had just undergone surgery. He was so envious of the toy models on Anzi's bedside that he almost cried. Anzi took pity on him and let him play with them for a while. When the child's mother saw how much the child liked them, she offered to buy Anzi's airplane, but Anzi refused outright.
"Brother-in-law, do you think it's cooler to fly a plane or drive a tank?"

Anzi, holding a tank in one hand and an airplane in the other, asked with great concern.
Gu Zhiyun looked up from his notebook and asked an even more difficult question:
"Tell me, which is better, your sister Jingya's braised pork or the potato and chicken stew?"
Anzi frowned and thought for a long time before saying dejectedly, "I can't choose, they're all too delicious."
Gu Zhiyun smiled and said, "That's it. I can't answer your question either."
"Brother-in-law, you and Sister Jingya are married now, are you going to have a baby soon?"
Anzi suddenly changed the subject.
Gu Zhiyun paused as he turned the pages of the book.
He certainly wanted to have a baby with the woman he loved most, but now was not the time.
Why are you asking this?

Anzi's eyes sparkled with excitement.
"I want to be an uncle too! I'll be a really, really great uncle!"
Gu Zhiyun patted his head and smiled, "I believe that."
As they were talking and laughing, Shen Jingyan walked into the ward carrying a lunchbox.
The old man in the next bed smelled the aroma of the food even before Anzi and Gu Zhiyun; his nose was more sensitive than a dog's.
"Braised pork belly, stewed chicken with potatoes, and fish head tofu soup!"
The old man said with great anticipation.
Shen Jingyan handed a large lunchbox to the old man: "Grandpa Qin, I also brought yours!"
The old man, called Grandpa Qin, grinned and said, "I knew you were kind-hearted, Jingya, and that you wouldn't forget this old man!"
The old man surnamed Qin moved in three days later than Anzi. According to his son, the old man was admitted because he was so heartbroken over the death of his wife that he suffered a sudden cerebral hemorrhage.

The old man had very discerning tastes. He was used to his wife's cooking when he was alive, and now he couldn't stomach any delicacies.
He won't eat the food his daughter-in-law cooks, he won't eat the food in the hospital cafeteria, and he won't eat the food bought from restaurants outside. He's almost driven his son and daughter-in-law to tears.
That day, Shen Jingyan brought Anzi some stir-fried dishes. Old Man Qin smelled the aroma, took a bite, and immediately had a great appetite, praising them repeatedly.
And so, Shen Jingyan became the savior of the old man's son and daughter-in-law.
Whenever Shen Jingyan cooks something delicious, she never forgets to send a portion to Old Man Qin.
During the meal, Old Man Qin glanced at Gu Zhiyun's notebook and casually asked:
"I heard from Anzi that you are a student at the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Imperial University?"
Gu Zhiyun nodded and said, "Yes, I'm still a freshman."
Old Qin proudly puffed out his chest and said, "Hehe, what a coincidence! I'm also a graduate of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Imperial University! We're alumni!"
Gu Zhiyun was a little skeptical.

Judging from Old Man Qin's age, he must be at least sixty-four or sixty-five years old. He went to university forty years ago, right?
The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Teito University was established only forty years ago.
Gu Zhiyun assumed that Old Man Qin was just making things up to get closer to him.
It wasn't that he didn't believe it, because Old Man Xu had also called him "grandson-in-law" repeatedly, just so he could get a few more meals from Jingya.
There's nothing we can do; everyone loves his daughter's cooking.
Seeing that Gu Zhiyun didn't quite believe him, Old Man Qin stuffed meat into his mouth while saying seriously:
"Young man, don't disbelieve me! I was in the first class of the Aeronautical Academy in 1937! During the war, I even flew fighter planes! It was tough back then. The enemy had hundreds or even thousands of planes, while our country only had less than a hundred! But we were never afraid to go to the battlefield! Do you know how many enemy planes I shot down?"
Old Qin became more and more excited as he spoke, as if he had returned to that era of war and turmoil.
His words also drew the attention of Gu Zhiyun, Shen Jingyan, and An Zi.
Old Qin became even more smug: "Two hundred and seventy-nine! I shot down two hundred and seventy-nine enemy planes! Once, the air battle was particularly intense. I ran out of ammunition, so I flew my plane into an enemy plane! The enemy plane immediately caught fire, and my plane's wing broke off. I parachuted to safety, but while parachuting, I was hit in the back of the head by enemy shrapnel. Do you know why I had a brain hemorrhage? It was that shrapnel that caused it! That shrapnel was in my head for over thirty years, and I only recently had it surgically removed!"
