Xue Hongmei's unusual behavior drew the attention of all four pairs of eyes.
Her face flushed, she hurriedly squatted down to pick up the broken pieces of the teapot.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so clumsy, I can't even hold a teapot properly..."
Gu Zhiyun was certain that she hadn't accidentally touched him; she had overheard what Chen Jingyan had just said.
The name "Zhou Zhengqing" triggered her.
He gently tugged at Shen Jingyan's sleeve, exchanged a glance with her, and then turned his gaze to Xue Hongmei.
Chen Jingyan understood immediately and mouthed to him, "Let's split up."
She stood up first and, together with Xue Hongmei, cleaned up the broken pieces on the ground.

Xue Hongmei quickly stopped her arm, saying, "I can do it. You're the young lady of this family, how can we let you do chores..."
She smiled calmly and said, "What do you mean by 'young lady' or 'not a young lady'? This is a new society now. We are all comrades, and we are equal in whatever we do. There is no distinction between high and low."
After tidying up the broken pieces, Chen Jingyan followed Xue Hongmei into the kitchen.
Gu Zhiyun took advantage of the opportunity to go to the restroom and found Xue Yi reading a book in the corner.
When Xue Yi saw Gu Zhiyun walking towards him, he put down his book, stood up properly, and greeted him, "Hello, Uncle Gu."
The six-year-old boy looked a little thin, and his clothes were old but very clean. His hair and nails were clean and tidy, so it seemed that Xue Hongmei was taking good care of him.
Although his eyebrows and eyes were almost a carbon copy of Zhou Zhengqing's, his eyes were pure and lively, without any of Zhou Zhengqing's greasy and lewd appearance.
Not wanting to scare Xue Yi, Gu Zhiyun casually asked, "What book are you reading?"
Xue Yi held up the book for him to see; it was a book called "The Mystery of Azure Blue".
This book is a science primer that Mr. Xu wrote specifically for elementary school students at the invitation of the publisher. It contains a lot of introductory knowledge of aerospace.

"You like this book too? What a coincidence, I like it too."
Xue Yi seemed pleased that Gu Zhiyun had something in common with him, and for the first time took the initiative to start a conversation with him.
"This was given to me by my great-grandfather. He has given me so many books. He is so kind."
The little boy's eyes shone brightly. "Great-Grandpa has so many books! Mom said that as long as I'm good, she can keep working here, and I'll have the chance to read all of Great-Grandpa's books."
The great-grandfather that Xue Yi mentioned was Old Man Xu.
Gu Zhiyun smiled and said, "Then you must be obedient. Your mother works very hard."
Xue Yi nodded understandingly.
He cautiously sized up Gu Zhiyun and timidly asked, "Uncle Gu, I know you. You're the scientist in the newspaper, right?"
Gu Zhiyun: "???"
Has he become so famous that even six-year-olds know him?

Xue Yi added, "There are many newspapers pasted on the blackboards at our school, and your photo is in one of them. I recognize you."
Gu Zhiyun was reluctant to bring up the fact that he had been in the newspaper, because Old Xu had always taught him that scientific research should be done in a low-key and humble manner, and that he should not seek attention or forget his original intentions. However, in order to get information out of the little boy, he had no choice but to use his fame.
He took Xue Yi's book and tentatively asked, "Would you like an autograph?"
Xue Yi's eyes shone like stars.
Seeing the little boy's expectant look, Gu Zhiyun took out a fountain pen from his pocket:
"I rarely sign autographs, but since you're so well-behaved and studious, I can sign one for you."
Xue Yi could no longer contain his excitement, rubbing his little hands together and repeatedly expressing his gratitude: "Thank you, Uncle Gu!"
"But you have to answer a few questions for me, and you have to keep it a secret. You can't tell anyone about our conversation, okay?"
Xue Yi nodded like a chick pecking at rice.
Gu Zhiyun signed the autograph, pulled him to sit down, and asked, "Have you always worked with your mother?"

The six-year-old boy, not yet knowing how to lie, answered honestly:
"Yes, Mom used to work at the supply and marketing cooperative, but she was fired. Many of the aunties were laid off, so Mom is very happy to have found a job as a nanny."
"Your mother works so hard, what about your father? What does he do?"
When Xue Yi heard the word "father," he looked bewildered.
“I don’t have a father.” His eyes showed sadness. “I’ve never had a father. My mother said that my father died before I was born.”
Gu Zhiyun patted Xue Yi's head: "Do you know what sacrifice means?"
Xue Yi said, "He's gone. Mom said Dad turned into a star in the sky."
As he spoke, he looked up at the sky outside the window.
"Uncle Gu, it's daytime now, so you can't see my dad. But I'll point it out to you at night. Dad's very bright in the sky; you can see him every night!"
Gu Zhiyun felt a mix of emotions after hearing this.

Xue Hongmei fabricated a beautiful lie that fooled the still immature Xue Yi.
But what if Xue Yi grows up a bit? He can't possibly believe in fairy tales like his dad turning into a star forever, can he?
He felt that Zhou Zhengqing, such a scumbag, did not deserve such a beautiful story at all.
In the kitchen, Shen Jingyan and Xue Hongmei chatted for a few minutes, but she found that Xue Hongmei was not in the right frame of mind at all.
