After finishing her meal, Wang Hongfang burped and licked her fingers, saying, "Hey, why do you city people eat so little? I hardly saw you touching your chopsticks."

After dinner, Fang Ru and Shen Jingyan tidied up the study and laid out new bedding.
The bed in the study was rather small, only 1.3 meters wide. It could fit two thin people, but when Wang Hongfang and her daughter Gu Qing got on, the small bed creaked under the weight.
Fortunately, Wang Hongfang will be going back to her hometown in a couple of days and won't be staying here permanently.
After finishing her errands for the mother and daughter, Fang Ru dragged her tired body back to the bedroom.
Gu Huaiqian poured her some hot water and asked considerately, "Didn't you eat enough tonight? I'll go buy some late-night snacks. I guess Jingya and Zhiyun didn't eat enough either."
Fang Ru whispered, "Let's go after they fall asleep."
The mother and daughter clearly belong to the type who can eat a lot even after they're full.
Gu Huaiqian nodded and said, "Okay."
Fang Ru slumped onto the bed, sighing as she said, "Jingya is from the countryside, and Gu Qing is from the countryside too, so why is there such a big difference?"
"How many girls are like Jingya? Let alone those from the countryside, there aren't any city girls better than Jingya."

After it was over, Shen Jingyan completely turned into a soft, cuddly little white rabbit.
"I'm so hungry..." she rubbed her rumbling stomach.
Gu Zhiyun got up and put on his pajamas: "You lie down, I'll go get you something to eat."
He had just gotten out of bed when there was a soft knock on the bedroom door.
It was Fang Ru. She quickly handed Gu Zhiyun a paper bag and whispered, "Your dad went out to buy this late-night snack. You and Jingya should eat it while it's hot."
The paper bag contained steaming hot xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), soy milk, and a piece of braised beef.
Shen Jingyan never imagined that one day she would have to sneak around to eat in her own home.
After having a late-night snack, the feeling of hunger finally disappeared.
Over the next few days, Wang Hongfang and Gu Qing ate and drank to their hearts' content at the Gu family's house, with fish and meat at every meal.
