The University of Britton’s student newspaper quickly published a statement on its front page, in which a student named Jim Cano came forward to testify for Gu Zhiyun. He said he witnessed everything that night in the bar’s restroom. Gu Zhiyun had been avoiding Linda from beginning to end and had never hugged her. Instead, Linda took advantage of his unpreparedness to make physical contact with him twice, while a photographer was hiding in a corner taking pictures.
Jim sternly accused Linda of having no bottom line in creating scandals, and said that her behavior seriously damaged the friendship between the two countries and should be severely condemned. He also recommended that Britton University expel this morally corrupt student.
As soon as the news broke, the tone immediately changed.
The day before, Linda was the perfect first love and the most popular topic of conversation. In the blink of an eye, she became a vicious woman who was condemned by everyone and had ulterior motives.
Taking advantage of the momentum, Old Xu lodged a protest with the University of Breton on behalf of the Chinese aerospace research team, stating that if the incident of Linda's slander against Gu Zhiyun was not addressed, China would cease all scientific research exchanges with the United States in the future.
