Gu Zhiyun was clearly teasing him, but the little boy nodded very seriously and said:
“I asked my mom and my grandma, and they both said that Sister Jingya is beautiful and they would like her to be my wife!”
Gu Zhiyun almost burst out laughing; he didn't know what to say.
Is it really admirable that the little boy has a dream?
"What are you laughing at? I'm telling the truth!"
The little boy was a bit annoyed. He was speaking so seriously, but the handsome boy opposite him was just laughing at him.
Did Jingya agree?
Gu Zhiyun's probing question left the little boy speechless.
He stood up angrily and wiped his mouth, which was covered with glutinous rice crumbs, with his sleeve.
"Wait here, I'll go ask right now!"
Gu Zhiyun found the little boy's innocence quite amusing.
He turned sideways and watched the little boy and Jingya talking out of the corner of his eye.
A little while later, the little boy returned, proudly raising his head and saying to Gu Zhiyun with a smug look, "I asked, and Sister Jingya said it's okay!"
Gu Zhiyun, of course, did not believe it.
He could have simply laughed it off and not ruined the little boy's dream of marrying a beautiful wife.
However, the woman he wanted to marry was not someone else, but Jingya, which made him feel a little awkward.
No one can take Jingya from him, not even a wet-behind child.
So he raised an eyebrow and asked, "Are you sure? Did Jingya agree to it herself?"
The little boy nodded firmly and said, "I asked Sister Jingya if she would like to be my wife. Sister Jingya smiled at me and patted my head. Doesn't that mean she agreed?"
Gu Zhiyun chuckled softly.
A little boy is just a little boy; he's quite silly and naive.
"I don't believe it. I didn't hear Jingya agree with my own ears."
Gu Zhiyun was determined to dampen the little boy's arrogance.
The little boy was competitive and determined to defeat the older brother who was older, taller, and more handsome than him!
"You wait, I'll call Sister Jingya over and ask her in front of you!"
The little boy actually pulled Shen Jingyan over.
He held Shen Jingyan's hand and asked in a serious tone, "Sister Jingya, would you be willing to be my wife?"
Shen Jingyan was taken aback by the question.
Gu Zhiyun, standing to the side, looked like he was waiting to see a good show.
The little boy had already asked her that, but she brushed him off.
Kids are all pretty easy to coax.
Why did the little boy ask the same question again after only a short while?
Should I ask him in front of Gu Zhiyun?
Shen Jingyan looked at Gu Zhiyun speechlessly.
Who would have thought that someone who seems so aloof actually has a mischievous little boy living inside?
"Sister Jingya, tell me quickly, would you be willing to be my wife?"
The little boy got anxious and kept shaking Chen Jingyan's hand.
Shen Jingyan had no choice but to politely decline, saying, "You're not old enough to get married yet."
The little boy squeezed her hand tightly: "Then wait for me to grow up. When I grow up, I can get married!"
Shen Jingyan smiled helplessly and said, "By the time you grow up, I will be old."
"That's right, Jingya is eight or nine years older than you. By the time you grow up, it will be too late."
Gu Zhiyun, not one to shy away from making trouble, added fuel to the fire.
The little boy stared blankly at Shen Jingyan. Her fair and clean face, her big, bright eyes, and her cherry-like lips—that was exactly what his dream wife looked like!
He counted on his fingers for a long time. He's ten years old this year, and in ten years he can get married. Then Sister Jingya will...
He's the same age as his mother now!
He was jolted, as if struck by lightning.
How could such a beautiful older sister be the same age as her mother?
The little boy, his dreams shattered, burst into tears.
"I don't want to, Sister Jingya, don't get old, wait for me, wait until I grow up to be the same age as you, then you can get old..."
Gu Zhiyun couldn't help but laugh: "You think you have a time machine?"
She glared at him reproachfully: "Why are you teasing the child? Do you like watching children cry?"
Gu Zhiyun: "..."
Who likes to see him cry?
Who told that little boy to overestimate himself and dare to steal his wife?
Shen Jingyan tried to coax the little boy with White Rabbit candy, melon seeds, and walnuts, but in the end, she couldn't persuade him. So she reluctantly exchanged 200 points for a toy airplane, and only then did the little boy temporarily forget his sadness about not being able to marry a beautiful wife.
The little boy hugged his toy airplane, wiping away his tears as he walked away.
Shen Jingyan let out a long sigh of relief and turned to look at Gu Zhiyun reproachfully.
Good grief, and he even put on an innocent expression.
"I didn't realize you were so mischievous, Gu Zhiqing."
Gu Zhiyun's ears turned slightly red after being teased.
"I'm full, I'm going to the post office to mail a letter."
He hurriedly made up an excuse and ran away.
Not long after Gu Zhiyun left, Shen Jingyan was cooking a new pot of glutinous rice balls when she heard a whistle.
"Hey, where did this pretty young lady come from? She looks a bit unfamiliar."
Then came a burst of frivolous laughter.
A group of shady-looking young men, cigarette butts dangling from their lips, surrounded her stall.
The leader was about twenty-five or twenty-six years old. He had a face that resembled a weasel, with small, rat-like eyes that gleamed with cunning.
The octagonal hat on his head was worn crookedly, and you could tell at a glance that he was no good.
Shen Jingyan had seen and fought even man-eating zombies, so naturally he wouldn't take a few petty thugs seriously.
"Would you like to buy some glutinous rice balls?" she asked calmly.
"Tsk tsk tsk, why sell glutinous rice balls in this freezing weather?"
