Chapter 11: How to get one million points?

Over the years, Chen Feng had given a lot of money to her family, and he had long since guessed where that hundred yuan had gone.

Chen Feng has three younger brothers and is the only daughter. The Chen family favors sons over daughters and always asks Chen Feng to help her three younger brothers.

Sending that hundred yuan to the Chen family was like throwing it into a bottomless pit; there was no way to get it back.

"You brat, what nonsense are you spouting!"

Unable to contain her anger, Chen Feng raised her hand to slap Shen Yuqin.

Shen Yuqin hid behind Shen Honggang.

"Enough!" Shen Honggang roared angrily.

This taciturn man was like a gentle ox, mild-mannered. Chen Feng had never seen him so angry before, and was immediately intimidated.

"Sister Zhao, I will definitely find a way to pay you back. Please give me a few more days."

Shen Honggang's expression softened, and he said to Granny Zhao, "I said I would pay, and I will definitely pay. I will never renege on my debt."

Granny Zhao had previously inquired about Shen Honggang's character and knew he was a man of his word. Since things had already come to this point, she couldn't say anything more.

Shen Honggang wrote an IOU and pressed his fingerprint on it.

Granny Zhao took the IOU and then led the people away.

Chen Feng approached Shen Honggang, about to embellish the story of Shen Jingyan hitting her, when Shen Honggang gave her a deep look.

That look contained complex emotions: disappointment, condemnation, and even a hint of disgust.

Chen Feng gritted her teeth inwardly, wishing she could pounce on Shen Jingyan and bite off a piece of her flesh.

It's all that little bitch's fault!

The bride price was wasted, and Shen Honggang blamed everything on her.

But she was so terrified of Shen Jingyan that she only dared to curse him in her heart.

Shen Jingyan didn't care at all about the farce that happened this morning. She was enthusiastically browsing in the system space, exchanging points for a large amount of money.

She plans to go to the town's supply and marketing cooperative in a few days to exchange for food, clothing, and daily necessities.

After browsing the ticket area, Shen Jingyan discovered that there was another world hidden within the system, with countless mysterious areas waiting for her to unlock.

She walked to an area and could faintly hear the sound of flowing water, but could only see a misty fog.

She took another step forward, and a notification sounded in the system: "Host level is too low, no right to view this area."

"Xiao Ba, what is this area for?" Shen Jingyan couldn't help but ask curiously.

"This is a magical land."

Xiao Ba said mysteriously, "There is a spiritual spring inside that nourishes all things. You can grow anything on this land, and you will reap a bumper harvest no matter what you grow."

"Wow!" Shen Jingyan exclaimed, her heart pounding with excitement. "How many points do I need to redeem this area?"

One million points.

"One million?"

Chen Jingyan's fiery enthusiasm was instantly extinguished.

She single-handedly fought eight strong men, knocking them to the ground, and only then did she earn a thousand points.

Those easy little tasks only earn one or two hundred points per completion. At this rate, how many years would it take to accumulate a million points?

"Xiao Ba, are there any particularly difficult tasks that can earn you a million points in one go?"

She asked uncertainly.

The system put on a stern face and solemnly lectured, "Master, you must be down-to-earth and not aim too high."

Shen Jingyan silently rolled her eyes.

Are you teaching me how to do things?

...

Since taking on a debt of one hundred yuan, Shen Honggang has always felt a heavy weight in his heart.

He had lived half his life honestly and never owed anyone so much money. He had no choice but to work even harder, hoping to pay off his debts as soon as possible.

One hundred yuan is not a small amount for rural people. Shen Honggang works as a worker in the forest farm and only earns twenty yuan a month. He has to support a large family, so it is not an easy task for him to pay off one hundred yuan all at once.

In less than a month, he lost a lot of weight.

After the storm subsided, Chen Feng continued to do as she pleased, being lazy, gluttonous, and sharp-tongued, but she no longer dared to beat or scold Chen Jingyan.

Before we knew it, the end of the year was approaching, and every household was busy preparing for the New Year.

These days, every household is very poor. At the end of the year, they can only scrape together ten or twenty yuan to buy some meat, vegetables, and oil.

Being able to eat a meal of pork and cabbage dumplings is already a luxury.

Shen Honggang was focused on paying off his debts, and he saved all his wages after deducting daily expenses. Chen Feng made a fuss about it several times, but she didn't get it.

The eldest son, Shen Zhiqiang, stayed at his wife's parents' home with Shen Yunxia for the Lunar New Year, making Shen Honggang even more reluctant to buy New Year's goods.

The Shen family is destined to have a cold and quiet New Year.

Chen Jingyan, however, is different. He has a lot of money in his hands and can buy whatever he wants.

This year, she doesn't plan to have New Year's Eve dinner with the Shen family, but she also doesn't want to be too high-profile and prepare a lot of food and drinks.

She possesses a magical system that allows her to exchange supplies for tickets, a fact she can't tell anyone.

If you flaunt your abundance of food and drink too ostentatiously, it will inevitably arouse people's suspicion over time.

She plans to move out of the Shen family after the New Year, because she is 18 years old and can start her own household. She doesn't want to get involved with Chen Feng and Shen Yuqin, this awful mother and daughter.

The 27th day of the twelfth lunar month is the town's market day, the last day before the New Year when people can make bulk purchases.

Many villagers waited at the main intersection early in the morning, ready to take a truck to town to make purchases.

The truck is public property of the forest farm. Because it delivers goods to towns and counties every day, it also picks up villagers going to town.

Tickets cost 10 cents for adults and 5 cents for children.

The truck stopped at the intersection precisely at eight o'clock, and the villagers, all wanting a good spot, scrambled to squeeze onto the truck.

"Don't push, don't push, there's plenty of room on the bus, everyone can sit."

Yang Zinuo collected the ticket money while maintaining order.

Shen Jingyan was the last to walk. She silently handed a dime to Yang Zinuo, but Yang Zinuo snorted coldly and did not take it.

"The train is full. You'll have to wait for the next one!"

He said sarcastically, glared at Shen Jingyan, then opened the car door and returned to the passenger seat.

Shen Jingyan looked around the carriage. Although it was quite full, there was enough room for a slender girl like her.

Yang Zinuo simply didn't want her to get in the car.

Shen Jingyan was too lazy to argue with him. It was only seven miles to the town, and if she walked fast, she could get there in an hour.

She developed amazing endurance in the apocalypse, and walking for an hour was a piece of cake for her.

So she shouldered her bamboo basket, trudged through the snow, and headed toward the town.

The person driving the truck today was Gu Zhiyun. He was sitting in the driver's seat when he saw Shen Jingyan's back as she passed by the truck.

In the biting cold wind, the little girl carried a large basket on her back and walked slowly and carefully.

A long trail of footprints was left in the snow.

Gu Zhiyun frowned and asked Yang Zinuo, "Why didn't you let her get in the car?"
