Campfire battle

Campfire battle

Achilles' words were clearly conveying a message to the females in the tribe: he had no plans to find a partner at the moment.

At least, I don't plan to choose from within my own ethnic group.

When the females in the tribe heard this, a trace of loss flashed across their faces.

In the firelight, they cast jealous glances at Anrita and whispered:

"Looks like we have no chance. The chief likes her type."

"She's not particularly good-looking, nor is her mental strength exceptional. Furthermore, she's pregnant with another male's child. She won't be able to bear offspring for Chief Aqir anytime soon. So what exactly is it about her that the chief sees so well?"

"Well, it's hard to say. Maybe the leader prefers petite and slender females? Then we certainly don't meet the requirements."

Anita looked a little uncomfortable listening to these discussions.

Because of Archer's refusal, all the females believed that he was in love with them.

But she and Achir clearly haven't reached that point yet.

Although their current relationship did have a certain ambiguity that was hard to explain, to be honest, Anita had never thought about how she would get along with Aqir in the future.

After all, Achilles has a special identity, and until now, she has been hiding her true identity.

Thinking of this, Anrita sighed softly and turned to look at Achir.

But she happened to meet his deep gaze.

Anita was stunned for a moment, then asked with a smile: "Why are you staring at me like that?"

Aqir cut the roasted meat into thin slices, brought it to Anrita, and asked in a low voice: "What were you thinking about just now?"

Seeing her sad face, is she missing her ex-partner again?

Anrita looked at him a little embarrassedly and shook her head: "Nothing, I didn't think about anything."

The little female didn't want to say more, and Aqir didn't ask any more questions.

He sat down next to Anrita and watched her enjoy the barbecue.

The males in the tribe are all tall and strong. They are shirtless and wrestling by the campfire.

The more Aqir watched, the more he felt itchy. He stood up and said to Anrita, "Wait here."

He took off his shirt, revealing his well-defined muscles, walked to the competition venue, and said to the tribal warrior who had just defeated five people in a row: "This time, it's my turn to compete with you."

The male warriors did not expect that Chief Achir would suddenly join the competition. They were stunned at first, and then burst into cheers.

The male who had won several games in a row looked at Aqir in front of him with a helpless look on his face: "Chief, I am no match for you. I admit defeat and I quit!"

Having said that, he turned around and tried to dive into the crowd.

Aqier snorted coldly: "You are useless! You are not allowed to desert the battlefield!"

Before he finished speaking, he quickly chased after him, grabbed the man back, and gave him a good scolding.

After beating this one, the other males didn't dare to come forward.

Aqir said: "Come on, you can come together!"

As the only SSS-level male in the tribe, Aqir not only has top-notch mental strength, but also has physical fitness and fighting ability far superior to everyone else.

In a one-on-one fight, no one can defeat him.

So as soon as he finished speaking, the males who were watching and cheering around him became excited instantly.

How could they let go of such a good opportunity to fight with the leader?

Soon, a dozen males rushed towards Aqir, shouting.

Aqir transformed into a huge white tiger and fought with the dozen or so ferocious beasts.

Anrita was sitting in the corner, and her eyes widened in shock when she saw this scene.

Will anything happen to Archie?

She was so nervous that she forgot to eat the barbecue in her hand and stared at the melee without blinking.

The white tiger is indeed brave, but it cannot withstand the large number of male orcs in the tribe.

A dozen were beaten back, and another dozen rushed forward.

Can Achilles hold on in this round-robin battle?

"Are you worried about the chief?"

Anrita turned around and found that the archbishop had come to her side without her noticing.

The archbishop looked young, in his twenties.

He is the archbishop of the tribe and is also responsible for healing the tribe members.

However, ever since the Dark Forest regained its light and the spirit deer left with Anrita and the others, the identity of the Archbishop has been in name only.

The tribesmen no longer prayed to the archbishop, but instead believed in the Tree of Life, praying that the Tree of Life would grant them strength and offspring, allowing the tribe to continue from generation to generation.

But if they knew that the Tree of Life also followed Anrita, they would probably really doubt their lives.

The archbishop handed Anrita two red fruits, which the females had picked in the forest during the day.

This fruit is very sweet and juicy, and is very popular among females and children.

The Archbishop smiled and said, "Don't worry, the chief will be fine."

Anita, holding a piece of barbecue in one hand and a piece of fruit in the other, breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this: "Indeed, the males in the tribe should know their limits."

The Archbishop laughed again after hearing this: "It has nothing to do with propriety. I mean, the chief will not lose."

Anrita was speechless for a moment.

The Archbishop looked at the chaotic battlefield and said to Anrita:

"Our tribe often competes like this. Every time the leader takes the field, it's a many-on-one melee, but he's never lost. This time you're here, he probably wants to perform well and show you how powerful he is."

After hearing this, Anrita didn't know how to respond.

What did the Archbishop mean by this? Was he saying that Chief Achir was interested in him?

Only when males pursue females will they be eager to show their strength and power, right?

While everyone was still fighting, the Archbishop came over with a small instrument and said to Anrita, "I have some free time now, let me listen to the baby's fetal heartbeat."

The baby bear in Anrita's belly is expected to be born in less than two months, and she has never monitored the baby's fetal heart rate.

The archbishop placed the small instrument against her belly through her clothes and listened for a while. Then he smiled and said, "The little one's heartbeat is very strong. It seems to be a healthy baby. Would you like to listen?"

When Anrita was pregnant with the mermaid baby before, she never heard the fetal heartbeat.

She took the instrument curiously, put it to her ear, and sure enough, she heard the "boom, boom, boom" sound of her heartbeat.

Anrita's eyes lit up. It was only at this moment that she truly felt the feeling of being a mother.

I deeply felt that there was a little life growing in my belly.

Anita listened for a long time before returning the instrument to the Archbishop: "Thank you, Archbishop. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be able to hear the baby's voice."

The Archbishop put away his instruments, looked at Anrita with a gentle gaze, and asked softly, "Little female, I always feel that you look very familiar. Have you been to the Dark Forest before?"

The archbishop always felt as if he had seen the little female in front of him before.

But their tribe has always stayed in the Dark Forest, so they should not have seen any females outside.

Of course, except for Saint Anrita.

The high-ranking female riding a spirit deer.

When Anrita heard the archbishop's words, she felt a little uneasy.

She had to admire the Archbishop's insight.

Anita picked up the fruit and took a bite. She said with a guilty conscience, "I don't think so, right? This is my first time setting foot on this planet."

The Archbishop put away the instrument and smiled apologetically: "That's right. Sorry, I misjudged you just now."

With that, the Archbishop stood up and said goodbye, leaving Anrita.

Not long after, Archie came back.
