Edmund must be cured
Charlie took a deep breath and dialed Anrita's number with trembling fingertips.
The moment the call was connected, Landry's slightly surprised greeting came: "Hey, Charlie, why are you calling so suddenly? Is there something urgent you need to talk to your wife about?"
Charlie's face was as gloomy as ice at this moment. He clenched his phone tightly, his voice as cold as iron:
"Landry, Edmund is in trouble! The situation is extremely urgent. I have already sent someone to the White Tower. I must ask my wife to come and treat Edmund."
When the words fell, Charlie's eyes were fixed not far away.
Edmund was being carefully carried onto the aircraft by a team of soldiers and medical staff.
His eyes were closed, his face was as pale as paper, and he exuded a dead aura.
Landry's relaxed expression suddenly turned serious upon hearing this, and he asked anxiously:
"What? Something happened to Edmund? Is his mental state stable? Is there any serious damage?"
Charlie frowned, and the image of Edmund struggling in pain after being forcibly injected with unknown drugs flashed through his mind.
He gritted his teeth, his tone growing heavier. "The current situation isn't optimistic. He's just been injected with some kind of drug. The ingredients haven't been clearly identified yet, but based on my observations, it's likely a drug specifically designed to stimulate male susceptibility."
Landry's heart tightened, and he immediately responded: "I understand, I'll be there soon! Charlie, don't worry too much, with my wife here, Edmund will be safe!"
Anita curled up in Landry's warm embrace, her eyes still tinged with weariness. She asked vaguely:
"What did Charlie just say? Something happened to Edmund? What exactly happened?"
Landry turned the phone slightly sideways so Anrita could hear Charlie's response.
He softened his voice and said, "My dear wife, Edmund was unfortunately injected with a powerful susceptibility drug by Dorothy and is now in critical condition. Under the influence of the drug, his mind has fallen into extreme chaos."
Anrita opened her eyes suddenly upon hearing this, and her sleepiness instantly disappeared, replaced by a look of worry.
She sat up straight in a hurry: "The situation is so serious! Don't worry, Charlie, I will leave immediately. You wait in the White Tower for a while, I will be there soon."
Seeing that Amrita was so concerned about Edmund's safety, Charlie felt a warm current in his heart. His tense face gradually relaxed and his eyes became gentle like water.
He knew very well that his kind-hearted wife would never refuse them whenever they asked for help.
So he said softly: "Thank you for your help, my wife. I'm sorry to have troubled you."
Anita stood up from the soft big bed, wearing only a thin suspender nightgown. Her fair neck and chest were covered with bright red marks, as if they were the marks left by last night's pleasure.
Because last night was very intense, her waist felt a little sore.
Landry saw this and immediately stepped forward, holding her in his arms, saying softly, "My dear wife, please be patient. I will help you get dressed."
After saying that, he carried her to the spacious cloakroom.
Anita leaned against Landry's broad chest, her eyebrows slightly furrowed, her face full of worry:
"I wonder how Edmund is doing now? He was drugged and attacked last time, and it hasn't been that long, and he's been injected with an unknown drug again. His luck is really bad."
She sighed softly.
Landry changed her outer garments and said in a hoarse voice, "Indeed, some nobles abuse their power to act recklessly, treating the lives and dignity of others as worthless."
As he spoke, a hint of anger flashed in his eyes.
Then Landry changed the subject and a smile appeared on his lips:
"But they've hit a wall this time! Everyone knows Edmund is Crown Prince Begwe's trusted confidant and a high-ranking officer at the heart of the empire! These arrogant individuals dared to touch him, which will surely infuriate the entire military!"
If this matter were exposed on Star Network and used to guide public opinion, the Dorothy family and its followers would definitely become the target of public criticism.
He whispered, "Looking at the bright side, this incident may create an opportunity for His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. Perhaps soon, he will be able to quell the civil strife and ascend the throne."
By then, when Anrita gives birth to a little prince, she won't have to worry about being plotted against.
The little prince can grow up safely and be appointed as the crown prince as soon as he is born.
At this time, the tall and strong Cody came over with his upper body naked, holding two equally naked mermaid babies in his arms.
He just stood at the door, his face full of surprise, staring straight at Anrita and Landry, his tone a bit sour:
"An An, why did you suddenly change your clothes? Where are you two going to carry me?"
Landry turned around and explained, "Charlie called and said Edmund was in trouble. His mental state is on the verge of collapse. He has been sent to the White Tower. An An needs to rush there as soon as possible to treat him."
Cody's face darkened upon hearing this, his thick brows furrowed as he spoke in a low voice, "Which bastard hurt Edmund? I remember he hasn't been out on missions these past few days. Could it be that he was ambushed in the army?"
He was clearly angry and confused about Edmund's injury.
He stayed at the manor to accompany Amrita these days and didn't know that Edmund was kidnapped by Dorothy.
Landry said seriously, "Cody, this situation is critical. You stay at the manor and look after the baby. An An and I need to rush to the White Tower to check on the situation. We're not sure when we'll be back. I'm sorry to trouble you to take care of the child during this time."
Cody immediately responded, "Don't worry, Landry! I'm the best at taking care of children. Besides, the child's father will be back soon. When he arrives, the two of us will take care of him together and make sure nothing goes wrong!"
Landry felt a little relieved, and then he gently and skillfully put a thick coat on Anita.
After everything was sorted, he said softly, "Don't worry, An An. I'll escort you there myself and give Edmund a full checkup. As a doctor, my presence might help me provide more advice."
Although Anrita was extremely anxious, she nodded obediently.
The two then boarded the aircraft and flew rapidly towards the White Tower.
At this moment, Edmund's consciousness and spirit have completely transformed into beasts, but because the collar around his neck suppresses his mental power, he always maintains a half-beast form and cannot transform into a brown bear.
When Anrita rushed into the isolation ward, the sharp alarms of the medical equipment almost pierced her eardrums.
She leaned against the door frame with one hand and gasped for breath. The smell of disinfectant mixed with strong cedar pheromones hit her face.
Through the protective curtain that was torn into pieces by mental power, it could be seen that Edmund was restrained on the hospital bed in a spread-eagle position by five alloy chains.
The specially made chain was vibrating at a high frequency, and spider-web-like cracks had appeared on its surface.
A drop of cold sweat slid down Charlie's pale chin. This usually calm officer now had a disheveled uniform and a hoarse voice:
"He was injected with a new type of inducer, the effect of which exceeded expectations by 480%. His mental strength is currently depleting exponentially every second..."
Before he could finish his words, Edmund suddenly struggled violently.
Amid the buzzing sound of metal chains colliding, blood could be seen oozing from the brown-gray bear ears standing up in his hair. His handsome face was distorted in pain, and his sharp animal teeth had bitten his lower lip, leaving bloody marks.
His mental power expanded violently like a hurricane, and cracks appeared on the entire glass wall.
"careful!"
Charlie suddenly pulled Anrita behind him, and the aftermath of his mental power swept across his back, instantly tearing a bloody hole in his military uniform.
Landry took a few steps back while holding Anrita, his expression tense. "Why don't you use a tranquilizer?"
Charlie shook his head. "I injected it half an hour ago, and it's wearing off quickly. The pheromone concentration in Edmund's body is 25 times higher than during a normal estrus period. All existing inhibitors are ineffective against him."
Damn Dorothy, I don’t know where this medicine came from, but it’s so powerful!
As if to confirm his words, Edmund suddenly let out a beast-like roar, the restraints flew sparks as he struggled, the bed frame made a teeth-grinding twisting sound, and his vertical pupils were filled with glaring bloodshot.
Charlie looked solemn and took a few steps back: "Wife, this place is dangerous, please go out first, I will ask someone to inject a tranquilizer..."
Even though he knew the sedative would only last for half an hour, he didn't want Anita to take any risks.
If she was accidentally injured by Edmund, he would blame himself for the rest of his life.
Anita held his hand, shook her head slowly, her eyes reddened:
"You already said the suppressant is useless, so there's no need to continue."
Seeing Edmund in so much pain, she felt extremely uncomfortable.
Although Edmund has not become her partner yet, because of the past on the desolate planet, in her heart, Edmund's position is always different from that of Begwe and others.
Now he was being assassinated, his mind was in chaos, he was extremely aggressive, and he even lost his human consciousness and turned into a half-beast. Amrita only felt distressed.
She slowly released her mental tentacles and whispered, "Let me try, try to comfort him first..."
She now possesses the divine power of the Tree of Life, which symbolizes vitality and healing. Combined with her spiritual power, her soothing and healing abilities are much stronger than before.
Anita closed her eyes, with only one thought in her mind: no matter what, Edmund must be cured and nothing must happen to him.
