Neglected existence
At this moment, Edmund was wearing a brown bear mask on his face. The mask seemed to give him a veil of majesty, making it difficult to see his true expression.
Following behind him was Anrita, whose appearance had become ordinary.
Anrita stood quietly behind Edmund, very respectful.
When Luca saw Edmund's figure from afar, his eyes flashed with excitement and greed that were difficult to conceal, and he couldn't wait to step forward quickly.
Luca was wearing a slim black leather jacket that tightly wrapped around his slender body. He had black gloves on his hands and was followed by four male bodyguards who were also dressed in black.
The four bodyguards were tall and strong, with bulging muscles. They had stern expressions, fierceness and coldness in their eyes, and exuded a chilling sense of oppression.
It was obvious that even if Edmund got cold feet and didn't want to go to the auction, these people would never agree easily.
They were like a pack of hungry, red-eyed wolves, determined to bring Edmund to the auction and take the opportunity to cheat him by any means necessary.
After all, in previous transactions, Edmund was considered their "big client", a big fish that they had spent a lot of effort to catch.
Moreover, Edmund used to be generous and magnanimous, never stingy with money, simple-minded and easily trusting others.
In their eyes, Edmund was a fat sheep waiting to be slaughtered, and the favorite customer of these profit-seeking merchants in the black market.
Luca and his men swiftly jumped down the stairs of the airship and quickly approached, a fake smile plastered on his face.
"Hey, my dear officer, you are finally here."
There was a hint of subtle flattery in his voice: "Did the journey go smoothly?"
Edmund stepped forward, trying to imitate Lauren's attitude and tone, raising his chin arrogantly and tilting his nose slightly upwards, as if he didn't care about anything around him.
"Of course, who would dare to block my way? I am a top noble in the central area!"
When Luca heard this, a hint of subtle disdain flashed across his eyes, but then he burst into laughter, and the laughter was particularly harsh:
"Yes, of course! You are the Vice Admiral of the Central Region of the Main Star! How could anyone dare to stop you?"
As he spoke, Luca pointed exaggeratedly at the airship behind him. Under the dim light, the airship gleamed with a cold metallic luster, like a dormant steel behemoth.
Luca continued, "Come on, officer, the flying ship is ready, let's set off quickly."
Having said that, Luca suddenly paused, as if he had discovered something surprising.
Curiosity and surprise flashed in his eyes. He leaned forward slightly, his neck stretched out like a curious ostrich, and looked cautiously at Anrita who was standing behind Edmund.
Then, Luca looked surprised, his eyes widened, his mouth slightly open, and he said in shock: "Wait, this is..."
Luca said, meeting Anrita's gaze.
Although Anita was wearing a realistic mask and had an ordinary appearance, her eyes were as dark as the night sky, deep and mysterious, as if hiding the sea of stars, and were stunningly beautiful.
Her gaze was very calm, like the surface of a calm lake, without a single ripple.
Just by looking at each other, Luca's expression froze. He seemed to be cast under a spell, his body frozen in place, his mind blank.
He even subconsciously ignored Anrita's appearance and stared straight into her eyes, his gaze lost in thought, as if he was deeply attracted by Anrita's eyes and fell into a gentle and quiet mood.
He even felt that his mental power, which had been somewhat chaotic and irritable, like a violent storm, suddenly calmed down, as if it was being gently guided by a high-level female.
No, this feeling is more wonderful and intoxicating than being groomed by a female.
This made Luca's heart start to beat wildly, like a madly beating war drum, vibrating violently in his chest.
He stared at Anrita with burning eyes, his gaze full of greed as if he wanted to devour her whole.
He looked at her like that for a long time until Anrita looked away.
Amrita trembled slightly as if in fear, carefully avoided his sight, and hid behind Edmund.
Edmund was also very upset about Luca's offense. He felt that his territory was being invaded.
He stared at Luca gloomily, his eyes seemed to contain an endless storm that could erupt at any time. His voice was cold, like a sharp ice knife:
"Who are you looking at? This is my female, stop being offensive! I'm warning you, if you dare covet my female, I will never let you go."
Although Edmund had issued a warning, Luca's gaze seemed to be drawn by an invisible force, and he couldn't help but secretly glance at Anrita twice.
At this moment, Anita was like a frightened deer, lowering her head timidly, revealing only her plain side face modified by the realistic mask.
There was nothing special about this profile, and it was inconspicuous among the countless ordinary faces in the interstellar space.
This made Luca, who had just been immersed in Anrita's charming eyes, feel as if his heart was poured with a bucket of cold water, and he was full of disappointment.
Before this, all his attention was attracted by Anrita's eyes, which were as deep as the night sky and could soothe people's hearts. He was immersed in that wonderful state, as if he was being gently guided by a high-ranking female, and had no time to look at other parts of Anrita.
Now, when he finally turned his gaze away from those eyes, he saw such an ordinary face. The thoughts that had just risen up because of that special feeling instantly dissipated like bubbles.
Luca quickly put on a seemingly harmless smile and said to Edmund:
"Oh, don't be so nervous, officer. I was just curious and took a closer look. You actually brought a female to the auction?"
As he spoke, he raised his hand in a gesture of invitation and walked towards the airship with Edmund and Anrita, escorted by several bodyguards.
The bodyguards gathered tightly around him, their muscles tense, their eyes scanning the surroundings vigilantly, as if ready to deal with any emergency at any time.
While boarding the airship, Luca pretended to casually glance at Anrita who was following Edmund obediently.
There was a glint of inquiry in his eyes as he secretly speculated about the relationship between Edmund and Anrita.
Anrita was wearing clothes of simple style and ordinary material, and she looked very plain.
She moved cautiously, taking each step lightly, as if she was afraid of disturbing the air around her, and as if she was filled with fear of this strange and dangerous environment.
Edmund walked forward quickly and with big strides, and had no intention of waiting for Anita at all.
He didn't even hold the little female's hand. Even when boarding the spaceship, facing the high stairs, Edmund didn't hesitate at all and stepped directly up without stopping to help Anita.
In Luca's opinion, this low-ranking female was obviously not favored by Edmund.
Even though she was an extremely rare and precious female in the interstellar space, she still seemed to be ignored in front of the real wealthy aristocrat Edmund.
