Chapter 22: Saving Mia
Her heart was pounding, she was so frightened and helpless that she forgot to hide the expression on her face.
It is clearly not the day for the goddess' selection yet, so how could Bai Zhaoyan have the goddess's mark?
Do I really have no chance?
Or is it that the forest is really magical and that one can change one's destiny after entering it?
Bai Zhaoyan understood what she was asking and responded, "I don't know what happened, it just happened like this all of a sudden."
Her confused look made Noah even angrier. She gritted her teeth, trying not to let any emotion show, and said with a forced smile, "It seems Zhaoyan is the goddess chosen by the Beast God. Congratulations."
"Let's stop talking and share the food first."
Lang Yemowang delivered food to each cave according to the number of orcs, and the females processed it.
When the food was left for only four of them, Bai Zhaoyan didn't think about anything else and didn't notice the slightly subtle expressions of the two beastly husbands.
It was already late at night, and Bai Yuan and the others hadn't returned yet. Bai Zhaoyan yawned and stretched, "I'll leave Cen Ran and Ye Zheng to you two. I won't run back and forth with you. I'm so tired. I'm going to go back and take a shower and go to bed."
Hearing this, Lang Ye became anxious, "Zhao Zhao, wait a minute."
Bai Zhaoyan was confused, "What's going on?"
Lang Ye took out all his food and walked over to her. "My food and animal skins are all yours."
Bai Zhaoyan was stunned and refused, "No, you can eat it yourself. I found a lot of food in the forest, enough to last for a while."
"No, you are my female and I am your beastly husband. It is my duty to give you the food." Lang Ye said, and his face turned red as if blood was dripping from his face when he remembered that he thought she was trying to cheat him of his food and told her to get out.
He is really not a beast.
"And mine." Mo Wang also walked forward.
He had never been reluctant to give food to Bai Zhaoyan, but now he was even more willing to do so.
Looking at the sincere eyes of Lang Ye and Mo Wang, Bai Zhaoyan was flattered for a moment.
She understood that the two men's willingness to share food with her meant that they had accepted her.
"Thank you." Bai Zhaoyan smiled gently, "But even if you give it all to me, I can't eat that much. It will go bad."
"I'll just take two pieces and come back to you guys after I finish eating."
She swiftly picked out two pieces of half fat, half lean meat from the raw meat and held them in her hands. "Okay, I'm going back first. You guys should go back early after you finish delivering the food."
Mo Wang nodded to show that he understood.
Lang Ye felt that Bai Zhaoyan was unwilling to accept the food he gave her, and she must still be angry with her because he yelled at her last time. He felt a little disappointed for a moment.
When I think about it carefully, whether I wanted to kill her or was mean to her last time, I never apologized to her.
He should have a correct attitude and apologize to Bai Zhaoyan and ask her to forgive him.
Thinking of this, Lang Ye came back to his senses, but Bai Zhaoyan had already walked away.
He scratched his head and decided to let her have a good rest and apologize tomorrow.
Bai Zhaoyan returned to the cave, took some clean animal skins and went to the river to take a bath.
She thought to herself that this was still too inconvenient.
In the summer, she can go directly into the water, but in the winter, the river will freeze and it will be very troublesome. There is also the possibility of encountering other orcs at any time, so she has to think of a way.
After taking a leisurely shower, Bai Zhaoyan went to see the sweet potato seedlings.
The sweet potato seedlings in the field absorbed nutrients and were no longer wilted as when they were first planted. They grew very well and she was very satisfied.
After returning to the cave and just hanging the washed animal skins on the bamboo poles, Cen Ran came hurriedly.
"Bai Zhaoyan." He strode forward and grabbed her arm. "Let's go. The leader is calling you."
She followed Cen Ran obediently, "What's wrong? Have you found Mia? Is she injured?"
Bai Yuan brought the orcs into the forest to look for someone, and now he came to find her. She could only think of one possibility.
They needed her healing powers.
"Yeah." Cen Ran nodded slightly, not hiding anything from her, "When we found Mia, she was just last time..."
He hesitated for a moment before continuing, "I'll push you there."
"She must have encountered a wild beast in the forest, had her leg bitten off, and fell into it while trying to escape."
"Mia is dying and unconscious. Whether she can survive depends entirely on you."
"Knowing that you and Mia are at odds, Vince didn't dare come, so the chief had to call me."
Females are all rare species in this world and extremely precious.
Although Bai Zhaoyan didn't like Mia, he never thought of standing by and watching her die.
She quickened her pace and broke into a jog, "Let's hurry up then."
Bai Zhaoyan passed Cen Ran. Cen Ran was slightly stunned by her reaction, and then followed her.
Before he came, he thought Bai Zhaoyan would ignore Mia and was prepared to be rejected by her.
But unexpectedly, she didn't take the conflict with Mia to heart.
Or he underestimated Bai Zhaoyan.

When he arrived at Mia's residence, Bai Zhaoyan was shocked to find that all the orcs were gathered at the cave entrance, including Mo Wang and Lang Ye.
Hearing the footsteps, everyone turned around and made way for her, looking at her with anticipation.
The male orcs had all witnessed her special abilities during hunting and knew how powerful she was.
Bai Yuan: "Zhao Yan, come and take a look. Mia is depending on you."
Looking at the determination in his eyes, Bai Zhaoyan understood what he was thinking.
Although orcs have a long lifespan, it is difficult for them to have offspring. The tiger tribe has not had a newborn for a long time. If they lose another female, it will severely hit the tribe's hope of life.
Bai Zhaoyan nodded, "Brother, I will do my best."
Mia lay pale on the stone bed, her right leg severed at the knee by the beast's sharp teeth, the wound horrific to look at.
The three beastly husbands stood by the bed, watching in silence.
Bai Zhaoyan glanced at the wound and then looked away. He took out the antimony pot from the space and said to Vince, "Get some water to clean her wound."
"Huh? Oh oh oh, I'll go right away."
The orcs were quick and quickly brought a pot of water from the river and heated it up under Bai Zhaoyan's instructions.
Bai Zhaoyan carefully cleaned the dirt and branch debris stuck on Mia's short legs bit by bit, very seriously.
Only after the wound was cleaned did she use healing magic on Mia's right leg.
Fortunately, he had not slacked off in his cultivation during this period, and his supernatural power had recovered to the third level, which was more than enough to heal his broken leg.
After a while, everyone watched as Mia's face gradually regained color, her eyelashes trembled, and she seemed to be about to wake up.
Noah stood in the crowd, her mind on Bai Zhaoyan. Seeing all the orcs looking at her with admiration, she felt very uncomfortable.
Fine beads of sweat oozed from Bai Zhaoyan's forehead, and he withdrew his hand the moment Mia opened her eyes tremblingly.
Mia opened her eyes drowsily, with a hazy halo in front of her eyes. It took her a while to see the person in front of her clearly.
She thought she was going to die. After falling into the crack in the ground, although she escaped from the beast's mouth, she was unable to climb out.
She could feel the blood in her body gradually flowing out. She was tired and hungry and could only lie at the bottom of the crack and wait to die.
"Woo..." Mia sobbed twice and burst into tears.
