Chapter 10: The General with No Heir VS the Delicate Commoner

Chi Miaoyan was hoping that she would make a fool of herself, so she covered her lips with a handkerchief and laughed secretly. Unexpectedly, there seemed to be a gust of wind blowing past her ears. When she looked again, Chi Yunzhi was already in Song Tingyue's arms.

Chi Yunzhi herself did not expect Song Tingyue to come.

Seeing that he caught her in time, a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.

When Song Tingyue saw Chi Yunzhi standing firm, he quickly let her go and saluted Chi Bingwen with his fists clasped.

"I came here specially to pick up my wife. I was busy and couldn't get away just now, so I came late. I hope my father-in-law and mother-in-law can forgive me." After the conversation, he was very considerate and there was nothing wrong with him.

Chi Bingwen's anger subsided immediately, and Li nodded to him.

"I really shouldn't have made my son-in-law laugh at me." Chi Bingwen forced a smile.

Only Chi Miaoyan's eyes lit up when Song Tingyue appeared, but she quickly lowered her head.

"When you want to go back, come to the front yard to find me." Song Tingyue said concisely.

"I understand. I will come to find you in an hour." Chi Yunzhi smiled faintly at him.

Chi Bingwen took Song Tingyue away and asked Chi Miaoyan to take good care of Li.

As for Chi Yichun, we will wait until he comes back to deal with him!

In Chi Miaoyan's eyes, the interaction between the two became sweet and inseparable.

An inexplicable anger rose in her heart, and she didn't even notice that her nails were digging into her palms.

Without the protagonist, the scene suddenly became cold.

Li's face turned pale and she looked at Chi Yichun with cold eyes.

"Yichun did something wrong and deserves to be punished, but please show mercy, madam." Chi Yichun's biological mother, Mrs. Pei, hurried over.

The hairpin on her head was crooked and her hair was messy, and she looked in a state of disarray.

She held the person tightly behind her.

"It's good that he knows he was wrong. He skipped school today and pushed me. He deserves to kneel in the ancestral hall to see if he is worthy of our ancestors!" Li said coldly.

"Yichun was indeed wrong in these two matters. I will go back and teach him a lesson, but there is no need to kneel in the ancestral hall, right?" Although Pei was a little afraid of Li, she had recently received the favor of Chi Bingwen, and her spine was straightened a little.

"It's not up to you to decide whether to kneel in the ancestral hall or not. I am still the head of this family." Li was quite dissatisfied with Pei.

"Zhu Hua is still a worry-free person. He never skips classes. Even the teacher often praises him. He will definitely have a great future!" Li glared at Pei.

Pei patted Chi Yichun's stiff neck and hated him for not living up to his expectations.

"If you can't discipline the young master in the mansion, then leave it to me!" Li stood up with the help of the maid.

Pei was frightened by her words and took a few steps back, "Madam, you can't do this!"

"Master doesn't want to see a house without rules, so I will take care of it for him. He has to kneel in this ancestral hall whether he wants to or not!" Li was furious, and immediately sent servants to tie Chi Yichun up.

"There are some scriptures that have not been copied recently. Why don't you let your sister copy the rest?" Li raised an arrogant smile and did not allow Pei to question her.

Pei hated Li very much. Because she gave birth to a son, she was treated better than Zhou, and Chi Bingwen also visited her more frequently.

Recently, Chi Bingwen has become interested in her again, which has aroused Li's jealousy.

Li and Chi Miaoyan left together, and Chi Yichun was taken to the ancestral hall and made to kneel.

Like an unconvinced calf, he tried desperately to break free from the servant who was holding him, but he was too thin and had no idea what to do, so he failed in the end.

Chi Yichun was held down on the shoulders and pressed down hard, and he fell to his knees uncontrollably.

He was so angry that his eyes turned red. He tried to stand up several times, but was held down every time.

"Third brother, I have something to say." Chi Yunzhi stepped forward, "You two should step back first."

The servants looked around, and Zhuyin gave them some money and sent them out.

"Don't try to persuade me to admit my mistake! I didn't push her!" Chi Yichun sat on the mat angrily.

Chi Yunzhi felt a headache when she looked at her troublesome third brother. As they were both born out of wedlock, she always felt that they should unite.

"Did you see how Madam bullied Aunt Pei just now? It's because you skipped school, have no future, and are inferior to your elder brother in everything! That's why Li dared to treat your mother like this!" Chi Yunzhi reasoned with him.

When talking about Pei, Chi Yichun calmed down.

He knew that he was not good at anything, so he gave up on himself.

"Third brother, you should think about your mother. If you hadn't rebelled against Li today, your mother might not have to suffer this."

"Then I will have to live under the shadow of Li for the rest of my life? Are you willing to obey her wishes, marry General Song, and then be a widow for the rest of your life?" Chi Yichun looked at Chi Yunzhi's face, full of sarcasm.

Chi Yunzhi was silent for a while, lit three incense sticks, bowed respectfully to the ancestors, and inserted the incense into the incense burner before turning around.

"I won't be a widow all my life, and the general won't be childless all his life. But if you continue to be decadent like this, only you and your mother will suffer." Chi Yunzhi took a piece of cake and gave it to him.

Hearing this, Chi Yichun was shocked. This was not something his fourth sister would say.

Moreover, the general was poisoned and was destined to be childless, so how could Chi Yunzhi not be a widow for the rest of her life?

Unless she remarries.

But the Chi family and the Song family would not allow her to remarry.

But this is impossible, right?

Chi Yunzhi didn't care what he thought, she had already said what she wanted to say.

Chi Yichun looked at the pastry in his hand and fell into deep thought.

Chi Yunzhi left the ancestral hall and went to look for Song Tingyue.

Since ancient times, military generals and civil officials have always been at odds with each other. Song Tingyue listened silently to Chi Bingwen talking to him about the way to govern the country, and echoed him from time to time.

When he heard the servant's report, he said goodbye to Chi Bingwen and breathed a sigh of relief as he walked out of the room.

On the way back, the two rode in the same carriage, but neither of them spoke and the atmosphere was a little depressing.

"Why are you here?" Chi Yunzhi broke the silence first.

"I'll come over after I finish dealing with things." Song Tingyue said lightly.

When he thought about how Zhang Rongan got punished because of his own affairs last night, he felt very sorry.

When he arrived, Zhang Rong'an and Prince Ning were chasing each other around the table, and Princess Ning was stopping Prince Ning from hitting the child.

The scene was very lively.

When Zhang Rong'an saw Song Tingyue, he hid behind him as if he had seen a savior.

Prince Ning knew very well that family disgrace should not be made public. His own child took General Song out for a drink and offended Princess Wuyang, so he should be punished according to the family rules.

King Ning admired the old general Song Huaichuan, so he also felt pity for Song Tingyue, who had lost his father and was disabled.

I put away the whip to give him face.

Song Tingyue was dragged away by Prince Ning to discuss something, so it was delayed until now.

However, Song Tingyue felt that it would be better not to talk about this matter, so he did not say anything.

The two fell into silence again.
