Chapter 1109 Anxiety
The three of them tossed and turned, and only in the second half of the night did they slowly close their eyes and fall asleep for a while.
The next morning, Lu Miao fell asleep with the child.
Fu Jingyou dressed and washed up, then came back and stroked Lu Miao's forehead, brushed aside the hair that was scattered on her face, and said in a slow voice:
"I'm going to the factory to say hello to Dandan and the others. I'll be back at noon."
Lu Miao mumbled "hmm", stretched his legs in the quilt and spoke:
"No need, just go and do your thing. The maternity and children's hospital is right next to my house. I can get it over there."
Having a sick child is indeed worrying and frustrating.
But there is no need to keep so many people waiting at home.
Besides, apart from Fu Jingyou, the factory director, there is only Dandan who knows a little bit about the hardware factory.
The other two young kids were apprentices recruited in the past few days, and they didn't know anything either.
If he, as the factory manager, doesn't go over and keep an eye on things, wouldn't that be the same as shutting down the business?
There are so many big and small things to do at home. If every time is like today, will I still be able to work in the factory?
Lu Miao was determined and said he could do it.
Fu Jingyou considered it for a moment and nodded:
"Then I'll bring my pager. If there's anything you can't handle, you can always write to me. I'll come back as soon as I see it."
"knew."
Fu Jingyou leaned on the edge of the bed and pecked her on the side of the face.
She kept saying "Aiya" and reached out to push him:
"I haven't even brushed my teeth or washed my face!"
"I don't dislike you."
Fu Jingyou curled his lips and eyes, stretched out his arm to touch his daughter's sleeping face, then stood up and said:
"Then I'm leaving?"
"Well... let's go!"
"Um."
Fu Jingyou packed up and went downstairs, but did not go directly to the factory.
After having breakfast at home, Fu Jingyou asked Tang Mei, Wang Xiu and others not to go upstairs to quarrel with the mother and daughter.
Wait until they wake up and come down.
They first rode their bikes to a fruit stall in the alleys of East Chang'an Street and weighed some oranges. Fu Jingyou brought them back and asked Tang Mei to roast two for Mingxia during the day to cure her cough. Then they went to the factory.
Lu Miao took care of the children at home and slept with them until after ten o'clock.
Mingxia will not have a fever, just a cough.
I didn’t get enough rest last night, so I felt sleepy all morning and couldn’t sleep because of the cough.
The little girl was originally obedient and sensible, but she was really uncomfortable. At noon, she couldn't hold back her tears and threw herself into her mother's arms and sobbed.
Lu Miao was anxious, so he covered Ming Xia tightly and took her to the maternity and child hospital.
The child had no fever and was in good spirits. Apart from a cough, he had no other symptoms. The doctor was unsure what medicine to use, so he said:
"It's no problem. It's common for children to catch colds during the changing seasons. Just go home and drink plenty of hot water, keep warm and get enough rest."
Lu Miao held Ming Xia's hand and said worriedly:
"She's coughing terribly right now. She can't sleep when the noises she makes are too loud. Is there any medicine or injection that can alleviate this?"
When children are sick, adults tend to get anxious.
The doctor knew this and said to Lu Miao with a smile:
"All medicines are toxic. The child isn't at the stage where he needs medication yet. Besides, he's just catching a cold, and it's so cold, so giving him too much medicine wouldn't be good... If the cough is really unbearable, if you have the means, go back and buy two bottles of canned yellow peaches, warm them in hot water, and give them to the child. It might also provide some relief."
Lu Miao nodded, and then talked about the roasted oranges, asking if he could eat them and if they could eat them together.
The doctor nodded and said:
"Sure, you can roast the oranges. Don't pick the peels. Roast them and eat them together... The child probably hasn't had much of an appetite during these days of illness, but he should still avoid certain foods. Go back and get him something that's easy to digest."
Lu Miao touched Ming Xia's little face with a pointed chin with heartache.
Since last night, the child's eating condition is indeed not as good as before...
"Thank you, doctor. I'll do it as instructed when I go home today and come back tomorrow to see how things go."
"You're welcome. Please drive slowly."
