"This is unbelievable! Your family is a curse! I must have had the worst luck to marry you."
While cursing and swearing, Cui Liushi deftly flipped open the floor tiles and took out a rectangular mahogany jewelry box from the ground.
He picked out a plain silver hairpin and a jade bracelet, holding them in his hand, ready to go out and hand them to Cui Yulu.
Unexpectedly, Cui Yulu followed them in at that moment.
"Is Auntie still choosing?"
"Why do you walk so quietly, child? These are things your mother left for you, take them."
When Cui Dajun left, Cui Yulu was only eight years old. How much could she possibly remember?

As she spoke, she snatched the box, hugged it to her arms, and strode towards the door. She didn't have much stuff, and now that it had been wrapped up, she carried it on her back and left the courtyard without looking back.
"You ungrateful girl, all those pieces of jewelry in there belong to your mother."
Cui Liu was furious. After chasing away the onlookers, she went to the front yard and found Cui Yufang still lying on the ground.
She had clearly fainted.
