Chapter 34 Encountering an Annoying Person in the Mountains

Abu originally thought they wouldn't like him, but who knew that after just one meal, Han Bao wanted to take Abu as his underling.

The two seemed to have hit it off immediately.

“You child, you’re hanging out with a five-and-a-half-year-old and you still want to get married? I’m really worried that some girl will take a fancy to you.”

A mother's complaints are the most hurtful.

"Mother, I'm just popular and can quickly become one with the family. Isn't that a good thing?"

"Okay, it's pretty good, but it's a bit silly."

“Look how great Han An and Han Quan are at the academy, you should learn from them.”

"No matter how powerful they are, they still got struck by lightning and their faces were all smeared."

Han Bao couldn't help but laugh.

After being glared at by his grandmother Liu Xiuying, he quickly shut his mouth.

“I don’t think we can count on you guys. We’re just hoping Yu’an can recover. Maybe then we’ll still have hope. Or maybe Niu Niu will do too.”

Niu Niu, who was eating cake, suddenly felt immense pressure on his shoulders, and the cake in his hand instantly lost its appeal.

"Madam is eating cake, something sweet."

This action amused the whole family; the child is really precocious for his age.

"Speaking of which, Han Bao is of marriageable age. Our family needs to have more descendants so that I can have something to say when I see your grandfather in the afterlife."

"Grandma, which girl do you think is a good match for me? Could you buy me one too?"

As a result, Grandma hit him hard on the bottom twice with a fire poker.

He was in so much pain that he jumped up and down, clutching his buttocks.

This caused everyone to burst into laughter. Han Hu glanced at Cao Qiaoniu beside him and thought she looked even better than before.

He didn't know that all of this was thanks to Cui Yulu's spiritual spring water. She secretly used the spring water from her space while cooking, which could relieve everyone's fatigue.

Cao Qiaoniu felt a little embarrassed by his gaze, but she had to follow Cui Yulu's instructions and not consummate her marriage with Han Hu while taking the medication.

When Han Yu'an saw his grandmother hitting him, he clapped his hands happily and didn't forget to pull Cui Yulu along with him.

The sight of the family enjoying themselves was something Cui Yulu had never experienced before, and it felt somewhat unreal.

But all of this truly exists.

That night, Cui Yulu tossed and turned on the kang (a heated brick bed) unable to sleep, and Han Yu'an, because he had been beaten during the day, also did not sleep very soundly.

Looking at her husband, who sometimes frowned and sobbed, and sometimes grinned foolishly, Cui Yulu's idea became clearer and clearer.

So she gently placed her hand on his wrist, and his pulse was somewhat weak. She then reached out and touched the back of his head, which basically confirmed the cause of his illness. The next step was to treat him.

Hopefully it will work, but just then Han Yu'an suddenly flipped over and pinned her down.

Even through his undergarments, Cui Yulu could feel the heat from his body, and her face flushed slightly.

She quickly pushed him over and lay down on her own mattress.

However, my heart was still pounding, and my breathing quickened slightly.

She looked at the handsome profile of the man beside her. He was indeed a good-looking man. If he returned to normal, would he still be interested in her?

Cui Yulu hesitated. On the one hand, she wanted Han Yu'an to return to normal, but on the other hand, she was afraid that he would look down on her after he recovered.

This makes it even harder to fall asleep.

However, thinking about everything I've experienced these past few days, it's indeed a bit unbelievable. But since I was chosen by the lucky koi, there must be a reason for it. I just need to follow the knowledge in my mind, and I'm sure I won't go wrong.

Thinking of this made her feel much more at ease, and she soon fell asleep.

The next day, the men in the family still went to work on the mountain. Because they had bought cotton cloth in town, Liu Meie was busy making clothes for everyone.

Abu played with Niu Niu, so Cao Qiaoniu had some free time and helped her mother-in-law make clothes.

Han Yu'an felt unwell this morning because his head was broken yesterday, so he lay on the kang (a heated brick bed) to rest.

"Yu Lu, you just need to take care of Yu An today. Don't go out to pick wild vegetables. Chun Ying and I will go."

"Grandma, let me go. You stay home and take care of Yu'an. Just give him more water, and his fever should break by noon."

Grandma is getting old, and it's not easy for her to walk. If she bumps or falls, it will be a hassle.

Cui Yulu handed the prepared spring water to her grandmother and then went out with Han Chunying to pick wild vegetables.

"You two be careful and stay with the aunties in the village. Don't get lost."

Han Chunying agreed verbally, but she didn't really mean it. She didn't want to go with those women; good things would easily be stolen.

Han Chunying glanced at Cui Yulu, and the two of them carried baskets on their backs and walked up the mountain together.

They hadn't gone far when they ran into Han Jinling, the village's gossip queen. Linshui Village wasn't big, and the news of the Han family eating meat yesterday had already spread throughout the village. Now, when the women saw the two of them, they quickly gathered around.

"Chunying, are you two going up the mountain?"

"Otherwise, where else can we go?"

Han Jinling and Li Dacui were inseparable, the kind of people who were so close they were practically inseparable. They had bullied Liu Meie quite a bit before.

Therefore, Han Chunying did not like her.

"What a coincidence! Let's go together."

Now that Li Dacui is temporarily unable to get out after being struck by lightning, and no one else is willing to go with her, she has no choice but to go with these two girls, thinking that she might be able to gain some advantage.

"Let's not. The two of us are going up the mountain over there, which isn't on the same route as you."

"It's okay, I can go there too."

Cui Yulu didn't know the people here, but she didn't feel anything was wrong. She just looked at Han Chunying's expression and guessed that she probably didn't like this person.
