"Aunt, please take me in for a few days. I have no one left at home. You are my only relative. Please take me in."
The man was practically begging Han Jinling to kneel down, but she remained cold and refused, saying, "Get out of here. Everyone's struggling these days. How could I possibly support you? Get out of here."
He then slammed the door shut, and the man staggered to his feet.
He picked up the tattered package, shakily got up, and prepared to leave.
Han Chunying finally saw the man's face clearly and was immediately attracted to him. How could there be such a handsome man? An inexplicable feeling of attraction made her unable to look away.
But the man simply walked past her silently, his feet sinking deep into the snow as he headed up the mountain.
Han Chunying was a little worried about him, so she secretly followed him until they reached the top of the mountain, where she discovered that he was about to commit suicide.
"Hey, what are you doing? It's better to live a miserable life than to die. Why are you thinking of doing something so stupid?"
The man turned around and saw that it was a woman, so he quickly put away the rope and bowed.
"I apologize for disturbing you, young lady. I was rude. I simply cannot go on living. My family has all been killed and I am the only one left. There is no point in living now."
When Han Chunying heard about his tragic background, she was immediately filled with sympathy.
"Since you have no family, why don't you come home with me? My family can take care of you."
The man shook his head when he heard her words. Even his Aunt Qin was unwilling to take him in, let alone a complete stranger. He guessed that the little girl was just being silly and joking with him.
