Chapter 268 The handsome man is named Karl

The man caught up with her and said, "Beautiful lady, I'm so sorry. I meant well, I was just worried those people might harm you. Look at you, such a beautiful lady, in such a remote place, if they did something to you, wouldn't you be at a great disadvantage?"

An Moxue remained silent, while the man introduced himself, "My name is Karl. What is your name, Miss?"

An Moxue stopped, looked at Karl, and questioned him in a deep voice: "Karl, I have no grudge against those people. Why would they want to harm me? Weren't they trying to capture you? What a joke you're talking about, making me run so far away."

"No, look at me, am I handsome enough? That's why they chased after me. When I saw such a beautiful lady like you, I felt I couldn't leave you behind. Otherwise, you wouldn't know what was going on and would fall into their hands without any precautions."

Karl's words sounded very sincere, but An Moxue didn't think so. "Just because someone is handsome or beautiful, you can grab them? This sounds like a trick to fool an innocent little girl!"

An Moxue thought to herself, "Does this Karl guy think of me as an innocent little girl?"

That sounds so fake, it's utter nonsense!

An Moxue looked at Karl and said fiercely, word by word, "I-thank-you-for-kindness."

Then she walked forward without looking back. Karl smiled as he watched An Moxue leave.

He didn't even know this beautiful lady's name or where she lived. How could he give up?

Then he strode forward, caught up with An Moxue, and said, "Beautiful lady, we seem to have a special connection. How about we get to know each other and become friends?"

Judging from his gentle and polite demeanor and his relentless pursuit, An Moxue knew that he was someone who seemed easy to get along with, but was also quite assertive and wouldn't give up easily until he achieved his goal.

However, judging from his clothes, he was not an ordinary person. His clothes were quite expensive, especially his watch, which was a limited edition Rolex. This person must be rich and powerful.

"Oh! You wanted to get to know me? You should have said so earlier! All this roundabout talk is so pointless!"

"Yes, I just want to get to know you and be your friend."

“Sure! Being my friend is simple. The most basic thing is to spend like me. Poor people can stay away! I don’t help the poor.” An Moxue said this with extreme arrogance, but Karl found her to be very frank and cute.

"That's easy, beautiful lady. Let me treat you to dinner! We'll go to the most expensive restaurant in Puda, how about it?"

"Sure!"

Carl was surprised that the young lady agreed so easily; she was so beautiful, like an angel in his eyes.

When he saw her, he didn't want to let her go. He grabbed her and ran. His old man at home was such a nuisance. He always wanted to set him up on blind dates. Those arrogant noble ladies all pretended to be gentle and polite, but in reality, they were all wildly promiscuous and had such chaotic private lives. He didn't want to have anything to do with them, not even to get to know them.

"Now, beautiful lady, may I ask you your name?" Karl asked An Moxue politely.

An Moxue looked at Karl and said, "Abaganar Gido."

Upon hearing An Moxue pronounce her full name, Karl extended his hand and solemnly said, "Karl Urkana Ulrich."

When An Moxue heard him say his full name, she realized that he was introducing himself very formally and solemnly, so she extended her hand and shook hands with Karl lightly.

Especially upon hearing his surname—Ulrich, a noble surname in Osiris, it seems that this Karl is no ordinary person.

And so, An Moxue met her first friend, Carl, in Puda.

An Moxue felt that Karl only wanted to get to know her because he liked her looks. There was appreciation and affection in his eyes when he looked at her, but no lewdness. This was also why An Moxue became friends with Karl.

And so, Karl led An Moxue through another alley and onto the main road, where they got into a car.

Carl drove An Moxue to the Puda Hotel, the largest hotel in Puda State.

As soon as the car arrived at the restaurant entrance, before anyone could even get out, a doorman approached, bowing slightly, and respectfully asked, "Young Master Karl, do you need parking?"

Karl replied, "Yes." Then he got out of the car, went to An Moxue's car door, opened the door for her, and extended his hand in a gesture of invitation.

An Moxue got out of the car and whispered, "Thank you."

And so, the two entered the restaurant, and a waiter immediately came over and asked, "Young Master Karl, is there anything I can do for you?"

Karl looked at An Moxue and asked, "Giddy, would you like to dine in the main hall or a private room?"

"Let's go to the lobby. A quiet spot will do," An Moxue said.

And so, An Moxue and Karl were led to a corner of the hall where they could see the view outside.

After the two sat down and ordered their food, An Moxue asked Karl, "Karl, I noticed that it seems like martial law is in effect in Puda State. Has something happened?"

"You don't know?" Karl asked, puzzled.

"What do you know? I just got off the plane this morning." An Moxue looked at Karl and asked, puzzled.

“Oh! Sorry, I didn’t expect you to be new to Puda State, Jido. Lately, it seems the government has lost something and is looking for someone, but they haven’t been able to find them, so they’ve tightened their security measures. It has nothing to do with us, so you don’t need to worry about it.”

"Oh, I see! They won't just arrest people randomly, will they? The checks were really strict when I got off the plane," An Moxue said with some worry.

"It's alright. If anyone finds out about you and makes things difficult for you, just give them my name, and they won't bother you anymore," Karl said to An Moxue, as if it were just a nice day, without any sense that it was a big deal.

"Really! Then thank you for your kindness." An Moxue knew that people in Russia were like this, and their way of expressing themselves was different from that of people in China.

Carl smiled gently and said, "It's nothing."

To be honest, An Moxue quite liked the fish in the Russian restaurant, so she ordered all fish.

When the food was served, Karl didn't say anything more, only occasionally glancing at An Moxue. Seeing her enjoying her meal, he didn't say anything either.

It wasn't until An Moxue finished eating, put down her knife and fork, and wiped her mouth that Karl said, "Judging from your name, you must be from Mongolia. Why didn't you order beef, but instead ordered all fish? Do you really like fish? That's quite different from most Mongolians."

“Oh! I’m in the minority, is that not allowed?” An Moxue asked slyly.

“Of course not. It’s your freedom to choose what you like to eat. After dinner, do you think we’re qualified to be friends?” Karl looked at An Moxue, silently implying that the price of the Puda Hotel was in line with Miss Jiduo’s spending habits.

"Of course, I've considered you a friend ever since I introduced myself."

Carl was somewhat surprised to hear her say that, but then he thought it made sense. She didn't want to make friends with people and wouldn't even say her name anymore. He felt a little smug.
