This was the first time An Moxue had taken this route, and she tried her best to remember the route and the signs along the way.
It was no easy task for her to blend into the group and escort seven ordinary people who had no fighting skills. She had to stay vigilant at all times and not let her guard down.
As dawn broke, the group reached a secluded spot. The leader announced a half-hour break to rest, eat, take care of personal matters, and relax briefly.
She checked the seven people's physical condition and found they could still hold on.
After a short rest, they continued their journey. The journey was arduous, boring, and filled with anxiety. At the slightest disturbance, these illegal immigrants would become like frightened birds.
Sometimes, even a startled bird in the forest would turn their faces pale.
Finally, we crossed the border and entered the territory of the Lan Kingdom.
An Moxue breathed a sigh of relief, but suddenly, gunshots rang out from ahead, getting closer and closer.
Hearing something amiss, An Moxue immediately gathered the group together and led them on a jog, gradually distancing themselves from the smuggling team.
The eight men stopped when they could no longer hear their voices.
"Listen up, from now on, we're not going with them. We're going on our own. The gunshots earlier weren't right; it must have been a gunfight between two factions. If we don't leave, we'll probably suffer some unforeseen disaster. None of us have guns, and none of you are armed. It's very dangerous."
"Miss, what should we do next?"
"Don't worry, I'll take you to the person who's picking you up and bring you back safely. Now, rest for a bit."
After An Moxue finished speaking, she took the lead in finding a place to sit down.
The other seven people, who were initially worried, felt much more at ease seeing her calm and composed demeanor.
Seeing that their emotions had stabilized, An Moxue felt relieved and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Having strayed from the original route, An Moxue took out a topographic map and replanned the route.
This journey took another day and a night, and finally, just when everyone felt it was all in vain, they saw the border post.
An Moxue reassured the group and told them to rest for a while. She walked over alone, but before she had gone far, she was spotted by the patrolmen at the checkpoint.
"Halt! Hands up!" The soldier pointed his gun at her.
An Moxue stood still, obediently raising her hand and following instructions.
This scene captivated the seven people hiding behind her, who stared at her intently, their eyes unblinking.
As the soldiers approached, An Moxue said, "Comrades, hello. I'm one of our own. This is my identification. Please take a look first, and then we can talk."
An Moxue handed her identification to the soldier, who was incredulous after looking at it, never expecting to have such a young battalion-level officer.
After the two soldiers took turns looking at the documents, they handed them to An Moxue and then said, "Sir, hello. Sorry, it's just my duty."
"It's nothing. I need to see your post commander. I have something to say."
One of the soldiers said, "Please follow me."
The soldiers led An Moxue to their outpost squad leader's office, explained the situation, and An Moxue contacted her superiors, who said that someone was already waiting for her at the border camp.
After making the arrangements here, An Moxue went out to pick up the seven people and returned to the outpost, where she arranged a room for them to rest.
Once the handover personnel arrived and verified the identities of the seven people, An Moxue left the camp and headed back.
Little did she know that after she left, her story became the talk of the town at the outpost.
"That guy is amazing. He's not even twenty yet, and he's already a battalion commander. He must have accumulated so many merits!"
"The key is that she's a woman, an undercover agent, wow, that's amazing."
"I saw that badge. It's from the National Security Bureau! Not just anyone can get in there. Impressive!"
An Moxue was unaware of and did not care about any of this. Alone, she followed the route she had come by, combined with the directions she had inquired about from the soldiers, and took out Ta Xue from her spatial storage. She rode it and began to run through the forest, greatly shortening the journey that would have taken her several days to walk. After crossing the border, she drove back home.
After returning home and resting, she went to school feeling refreshed the next day.
After class, Sofia asked her, "Giddy, you've taken leave again. Where did you go?"
An Moxue smiled wryly, "There was a small mishap in business, so I went to deal with it."
"Are you alright now? Do you need any help?"
"No need, it's already been resolved."
"The holidays are almost here, how are your preparations going? We're going to England next semester."
"Just bring plenty of money. As for what else you need, you can buy it when you get there!"
"Yes, thank goodness you were here this time, otherwise I would have been very anxious and uneasy."
“It’s okay, just visit more countries!” An Moxue said, then laughed heartily. Sophia agreed and laughed along.
After class, An Moxue made a phone call and summoned Freda and Zhuang Zhou.
"Freda, how are the Popov family doing lately? Is the plan going smoothly?"
“Miss Giddo, here is the progress report. Please take a look. The Popov family is generally obedient, especially since your medicine has prevented them from getting sick again. They are even less likely to betray you in the short term.”
After reviewing the report, An Moxue asked Zhuang Zhou, "And you? How's it going?"
“Miss Jido, I can now have no problem with simple daily communication, and I am also learning kung fu.”
At this point, Freda said, "Miss Giddens, Zhuang Zhou is exceptionally fast at bookkeeping and rarely makes mistakes. He is very reliable in his work."
"Oh! I didn't expect to find such talent. Would you be interested in learning it systematically?"
"Is it okay?" Zhuang Zhou asked somewhat uncertainly.
"certainly."
That evening, An Moxue went to the underground venue again and met with Boris. "Boris, have you found someone to go to England?"
"Chief, aren't we taking too big a step?"
Boris never doubted his leader's abilities, but he feared that the expansion was too rapid and his men would become arrogant and unable to keep up with his pace.
"Isn't this an opportunity? I was originally thinking of waiting another two years before considering the overseas market, but plans can't keep up with changes. When an opportunity comes, you shouldn't miss it. Besides, I still have to stay there for a year! It's not a big problem."
Boris thought to himself, "My boss, you always say you'll have the whole country. By then, every major city in Russia will be our territory, and we'll have a huge information network. You never mentioned anything about overseas!"
I'm going crazy!
"Alright! I'll choose carefully again and ask for their opinions. You can make the final decision, Chief, is that alright?"
"Okay, hurry up."
After the two finished discussing their business, An Moxue began to review the accounts.
After reviewing the documents, An Moxue asked Boris again, "Do you see any of our brothers who want to study hard? If so, I'll try to find a way to help them. I'll pay for whatever they study, as long as they pass their courses."
"Chief, are you worried that we're expanding too fast and there won't be enough people to use us?"
"Yes, we don't lack people, but we've always lacked talent. In that case, why not train our own people?"
"Thank you, Chief. Surely someone will be willing."
