Chapter 407 Unexpected Rise

An Moxue was somewhat surprised when she received Huo Yuanchen's call. She didn't expect that he would say the investment plan was ready in just three days.

Since An Moxue wasn't planning on going out that evening, she invited him to the hotel to discuss some matters.

Huo Yuanchen arrived quickly. He hung up the phone, and before An Moxue had even finished applying her face mask, the doorbell rang.

An Moxue asked towards the door, "Who is it?"

“Miss Jiduo, it’s me, Huo Yuanchen.” His voice was still as gentle as ever.

"Wait a minute." An Moxue opened the door while casually tossing her face mask into her storage space.

Upon opening the door, Huo Yuanchen was momentarily surprised to see An Moxue without makeup, but quickly regained his composure and said, "Miss Jiduo."

An Moxue smiled and welcomed him in. After he sat down, he took out the documents from his bag, handed them to An Moxue, and said, "Please take a look carefully, Miss Jiduo. If you have any objections, please feel free to raise them."

An Moxue picked up the document and began to read it. The room was unusually quiet, with only a few pages of paper. An Moxue read it for half an hour, and after finishing, she had a new understanding of him.

An Moxue considered herself to be a transmigrator with some foresight and vision, but she felt that even if she did it, she might not be as good as him.

She closed the document and handed it to Huo Yuanchen, smiling as she said, "I look forward to Mr. Huo turning the investment plan above into reality. I wish us a pleasant cooperation and a win-win situation."

The two shook hands, and Huo Yuanchen said, "Thank you for your trust, Miss Jiduo."

He was prepared to be repeatedly challenged, but this was the first time he had encountered such a straightforward client who didn't say a single unnecessary word, and made the decision immediately after reading the copy.

He was still a little unaccustomed to it, and his usual prepared lines of speech were useless. He thought to himself with a self-deprecating smile, "Humans are really shameless."

Coming to his senses, the two had already separated. Huo Yuanchen said, "It's almost dinner time. Would you do me the honor of inviting Miss Jiduo to dinner with us?"

"Sorry, I'm planning to do a light fast and get my beauty sleep tonight. Let's meet again next time," An Moxue said with a smile, declining his invitation.

He smiled gently and said, "Okay, then let's meet again next time." An Moxue looked at the closed door, feeling a glimmer of hope for her investment.

That night, An Moxue was able to get her beauty sleep. Rong Anli called to tell her to get ready to leave that night.

An Moxue rented a car and drove to Rong Anli's current building to pick him up. This time, he drove.

He looked at the suitcase on the back seat and asked, "Boss, what about this suitcase?"

"Yes, the outside is a regular suitcase, and the inside is a waterproof combination lock box. The combination is the date of our first training camp."

"knew."

Then Rong Anli drove out of the city and went further and further into the wilderness, finally stopping in front of a wasteland.

"Boss, let's stop here! Walk another three miles and we'll reach the beach. We can take a small boat from there and leave. If all goes well, we should be ashore before dawn."

An Moxue didn't say anything, picked up her suitcase and walked ahead. Rong Anli smiled and quickly followed her, then walked ahead.

Before long, the two arrived at a beach. It was pitch black all around, and they couldn't see any people or boats.

Rong Anli glanced at his watch and whispered, "Boss, there's about half an hour left. I'll go check out the surroundings. You stay here." An Moxue nodded.

Twenty minutes later, a few people appeared and struggled to pull a small boat out from beside a large reef on the beach. An Moxue couldn't make out their faces from the distance.

Rong Anli returned and said to An Moxue, "Boss, I'm leaving."

As the two men were talking, two more men passed by. The boat had already been launched, and it was clear that one man was checking the time, while the others were keeping watch around.

After leaving Rong Anli, another person appeared. In the end, six people boarded the boat. Four of them were probably illegal immigrants, and two were ferrymen.

Someone said something, and the boat was launched. An Moxue did not leave immediately. She took out her night vision goggles and watched the small boat drift away, getting farther and farther away, smaller and smaller, until it disappeared from sight.

No one spoke on the boat. It wasn't unusual for people to smuggle themselves from the mainland to Hong Kong, but it was rare for them to smuggle themselves from Hong Kong to the mainland, especially since there were four of them tonight, and the commission was doubled.

Two ferrymen rowed the boat, their dark skin gleaming in the moonlight, their muscles taut, and their waists bulging with something that any expert would immediately recognize as a gun.

The four smugglers, including Rong Anli, acted independently, sizing each other up and wary of one another. One of them had a centipede-like scar on his left eyebrow, which looked particularly ferocious in the moonlight.

No one spoke; only the sound of the sea breeze, the waves, and the oarsmen could be heard.

Rong Anli hugged his suitcase, his chin resting lazily on it, as if he were asleep. Only he knew that he was ready to draw his gun at any moment.

In the long night, the ship had already traveled halfway when suddenly, a light flashed in the distance.

One of the ferrymen said, "Oh no, there are coast guards patrolling. Please pick up your spare paddles and follow my instructions. Let's row together."

In an instant, the air tensed as everyone saw the lights in the distance—the Hong Kong Coast Guard vessels.

Four people picked up oars, two on each side, and, listening to the man at the bow's trumpet, rowed in rhythm, making the boat much faster.

The people on the boat dared not have any other thoughts and rowed with all their might.

Gradually, they moved further and further away from the lights and closer to the mainland. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, and despite the sweltering heat, they broke out in a cold sweat.

The four people put down their oars and switched to rowing in pairs.

Rong Anli touched the gun and dagger on his wrist, then returned to his lazy demeanor, it was unclear whether he was asleep or not.

Finally, the person at the bow of the boat reminded everyone, "We'll be going ashore in about half an hour, so get ready."

The other three people on the boat immediately perked up and looked around warily.

Everyone knows that this period is the most dangerous, not only for patrol officers, but also for those who want to make a living illegally, who may be lurking somewhere, waiting for their chance to strike.

Rong Anli remained unmoved, but the alert level was still at its highest.

Just as everyone was about to get ashore, a sudden change occurred: two heads emerged from the water, capsized the small boat, and all six people were thrown into the water.

Rong Anli quickly took out a rope and tied the box to himself, then drew his dagger and swiftly stabbed at everyone who approached him.

In just a few breaths, the water surface turned red.

The heavy box he was carrying severely hindered his retreat, and both sides sustained injuries of varying degrees.

But everyone tacitly refrained from firing, because firing would attract the Coast Guard, which was not what the people here wanted.

He carried the suitcase, seeing that he was still some distance from the land. Looking at the other people, there were still more than ten of them. They were leaving one by one, and they were all injured. In the end, he could only remove the waterproof cloth from his arm, take out his pistol, and shoot the nearest person.
