When An Moxue and Wu Sicheng returned home, Aunt Ma had already cooked rice and steamed sticky rice cakes.
The two of them took the groceries out of the car, and An Moxue went to take a shower. When she came out, she saw Aunt Qing cooking fish in the kitchen and Aunt Ma cooking stir-fried pork. The two of them, with two stoves, quickly finished cooking dinner.
At the table, Aunt Ma raised her glass and said to An Moxue, "I hope your days from today onward will be peaceful and tranquil, and that you will no longer be troubled by worries."
Wu's mother, Xiuyu, chimed in, "That's right. Be happy and joyful every day. If you need anything, just go to Cheng. Boyfriends are just for bossing around."
Wu Sicheng looked at An Moxue and said, "I'd be more than happy to." As he spoke, he picked up a piece of fish belly and placed it in her bowl.
An Moxue readily agreed: "Okay!"
Then, turning to Aunt Qing, An Moxue said, "Aunt Qing, I'm so sorry to have you cook for me. Please eat more! Don't be shy." As she spoke, An Moxue placed a sticky rice cake in Aunt Qing's bowl, then placed another in Xiuyu's bowl, saying, "I really love these sticky rice cakes. Try them and see if you like them."
Aunt Qing said nonchalantly, "It's just cooking a dish. For a chef, the happiest thing is when their food is liked by diners. I'm happy that you like my food!" She then took the opportunity to introduce it to Xiuyu, "This is a snack from a part of the northern region. Many people like to eat it. It's mainly made with red beans and glutinous rice."
Old Ma and Aunt Ma were relieved to see An Moxue return unharmed, but Aunt Qing and Aunt Wu had no idea!
Most girls would be devastated by something like this, or at least their mood would be terrible. But seeing An Moxue acting as if nothing had happened, the two girls knew that this girl was incredibly strong! The incident didn't seem to affect her much, and they both breathed a sigh of relief.
Once An Moxue got to eat the steamed buns she had been craving, she completely forgot about the incident at the police station, which had no effect on her at all.
The meal was enjoyed by both the host and guests.
Before leaving, Wu's mother held An Moxue's hand and said apologetically, "It's all because of our Cheng that you had to go to the police station. I'm sorry for making you go through all that trouble."
Looking at the two elders who genuinely cared about her, An Moxue comforted them, "Auntie, Aunt Qing, it's nothing, don't worry. When I have some free time, I'll take you shopping and treat you to a meal."
Aunt Qing seized the opportunity to tease, "Isn't this a bit much? Someone's going to be furious and seething with anger. You should spend more time dating our Cheng!" As she spoke, she glanced at Wu Sicheng.
An Moxue glanced at him but said nothing. However, Wu Sicheng wasn't about to let Aunt Qing off the hook. "Aunt Qing, I had another message I wanted to tell you, but judging from your expression, you don't seem like you want to know. So, never mind, I won't say it!"
The only thing that can be done to control Aunt Qing is Qian Weiyong.
"You brat, you're something else! You're trying to mess with me now. All the food I've fed you since you were a kid has gone to waste." Saying that, she reached out to grab Wu Sicheng's ear.
Wu Sicheng wasn't about to give her that chance; she quickly dodged to the side, but Wu Sicheng relentlessly pursued her.
Right at the gate, two people were chasing after An Moxue and Aunt Wu.
An Moxue exclaimed in amazement, "Aunt Qing changed her face in a second, from a noble lady of the Republic of China to a shrew in the city, it was a seamless transition!"
Wu Sicheng didn't mean he didn't want to tell her; he just didn't want to tell her directly because she had teased him.
However, after running two laps, he thought that was about it, so he hid behind his mother and said, "Stop, I'm telling you, don't chase me anymore."
“Okay.” Aunt Qing stood there, waiting for an answer.
"Uncle Qian is being transferred back to the Kyoto Mechanical Research Institute. It's probably going to happen sometime this month."
Aunt Qing's eyes lit up, and she asked, "Really? Is the news reliable?"
"It's unreliable, don't believe it." He then ignored her, opened the car door, and said to his mother, "Mom, go back and tell Grandpa not to respond to anyone's pleas. Just play dumb. Or you could go find an old friend and stay at a nursing home for a few days. If you find that too much trouble, go stay with Aunt Qing for a few days. If you can't find her at home, smart people will know what's going on. Otherwise, some people will try to use your son's weakness to curry favor. Anyone can say nice things, anyone can be a good person, but you don't know the pain until you're hit."
Although Mrs. Wu didn't know the specifics of what had happened, she had lived in the compound for many years and had seen a lot. She wasn't surprised by any strange things, so she didn't ask for details. She only asked, "What about your dad?"
Wu Sicheng said, "Don't worry, I'll call him in a bit."
As they were talking, the two of them got into the car, and Aunt Qing asked again, "Cheng, do you know how long your Uncle Qian will stay after being transferred back this time?"
Wu Sicheng thought for a moment and said, "I should be able to stay for a while."
As they were talking, Mrs. Wu had already instructed the driver who came to pick her up to drive off.
The two watched the car leave, and Wu Sicheng got in as well. He asked, still unwilling to give up, "Aren't you going to check on the progress of the case?"
An Moxue shook her head and said firmly, "I'm not going. I finally managed to get this vacation, and I'm not going to be a free laborer."
Wu Sicheng persisted, saying, "But this concerns you!"
An Moxue refused again, "I'm not worried about you, Uncle Shen, Uncle Zhang and the Lion Troupe. I'll just wait and see the results."
"Alright! Just because you trust me, I have to handle this case well."
An Moxue smiled and said, "Trust, absolute trust. Let's go! I know you squeezed out this time."
"Alright! Get some rest early tonight." After saying that, Wu Sicheng drove away from An Moxue's house.
She returned to the living room, where Old Ma and Aunt Ma were drinking tea.
Old Ma glanced at her and asked, "You didn't get ripped off today, did you?"
"No, they're fine!" she said, stretching out her hands and flipping them up and down. "See? I didn't even let them put handcuffs on me."
Old Ma asked, "Aren't you going to check on the case investigation? Did you cause this case?"
An Moxue poured herself a cup of tea and said, "I'm not going. This case is related to the factional struggle within the Wu family. If I go, it will be detrimental to me. If I don't go, will Uncle Zhang make me suffer? Or will Uncle Shen make me feel wronged? Besides, my superiors at work are watching! Only by not going can I maximize my interests and avoid compromising myself. I won't do anything that would make me feel wronged."
Old Ma said, "When we go back to school tomorrow, there will definitely be a lot of rumors going around, but don't worry about it. Some people who can't stand to see you doing well will try to kick you while you're down, but don't let them get away with it. If things get bad, call the police. We might as well not keep a low profile anymore, let's be as high-profile as possible. In the future, if anyone has any ulterior motives, they'll have to think twice before acting. But the life you wanted, living among the crowd, is probably gone forever!"
An Moxue looked at him and asked, "No, Uncle Ma, why do I feel like you're gloating?" Then she turned to Aunt Ma and said, "Auntie, isn't that right?"
Aunt Ma, with a face full of the desire to stir up trouble, replied, "I think so, he has ill intentions."
An Moxue wailed dramatically, "Uncle Ma, see! Auntie said you can't do this!"
Old Ma, with his hands behind his back and a smile on his face, walked out of the house. "Not only that, I'm going to your school tomorrow to see what's going on!"
