Chapter 177 Departure

"We can give you the personnel list, but as for the research achievement, all we know is that it's about machine tools, but we can't provide any details. It's classified as top secret, and you can't access it without authorization. There's really nothing we can do about it."

"It's alright, having a general direction makes the investigation much easier. Can you tell us where the research results were brought back from?"

"That should be possible."

"Then please help me investigate. Just because there are no clues in China doesn't mean there aren't any abroad. I will find out the truth someday."

"Mo Xue, given the current situation, you should think carefully before taking the exam!" Zhang Jing said earnestly.

"Uncle Zhang, you're overthinking it. I won't act rashly."

"Is there anything else you want to ask?" Chief Guan asked.

"have."

"I would like to hear your analysis of this matter, mainly because I am too young and I am afraid that I have not thought things through."

Both of them were silent for a moment, and then Chief Guan spoke first: "Mo Xue, the investigation into your parents' matter seems to be coincidental but reasonable. However, excessive coincidence, too perfect coincidence, is the biggest flaw. Now, due to some reasons, the investigation has been forced to stop, but I assure you, as long as the opportunity arises, the investigation will definitely be restarted."

"Uncle Guan, thank you." An Moxue stood up and bowed to him.

Commander Guan quickly stood up and said, "Girl, we are so ashamed! We are already very grateful that you don't blame us."

Zhang Jing also said, "As long as I'm here, I will definitely investigate to the end if I have the chance."

"Come, sit down, let's continue our conversation," Commander Guan said kindly.

The three sat down, and Chief Guan said, "The people behind this case are very well hidden, which means that what we have seen so far is only the surface. There must be something we don't know about inside. Mo Xue, you must not be impatient. Protect yourself first, and then think about other things."

“Yes, Mo Xue, just by looking at the crowd they mobilized to surround you, you can tell these people are not simple. The most important thing right now is to improve yourself, become stronger, and be able to deal with them.” Zhang Jing also sighed and advised.

"That's what I think too. Please rest assured, elders, I will definitely live well."

Looking at An Moxue's transformation over the past few months, and comparing it to her state when she suddenly heard of her parents' sacrifice, Zhang Jing felt a mix of relief, heartache, and pride.

The three chatted until noon, and An Moxue returned to the guesthouse after having lunch at the military base.

After An Moxue left, Zhang Jing returned to the office with Chief Guan.

Zhang Jing asked, "Commander, what do you think about this matter of demanding compensation from Commander Yang's grandson? What should we do?"

Commander Guan kept Zhang Jing in suspense, asking, "Who are you going to find?"

"Commander Yang, it was Commander Yang who brought up the compensation issue that day."

"That's right! But I don't think it'll be that simple for Mo Xue to demand compensation. I feel like there's more to this girl than meets the eye."

"The changes in just a few months are unbelievable. If I hadn't watched her grow up, I wouldn't have believed it. She used to be gentle and quiet, but now she's not to be trifled with, yet she's much more measured in her actions. But, sir, why didn't you tell her the most crucial point we found?"

"Would telling her make things more dangerous for her? Aside from that, haven't we told her everything? We can wait until she's strong enough to say something. Telling her now is problematic because firstly, we only have suspicions and no concrete evidence; secondly, if we tell her and she loses her temper and does something, and we can't rescue her in time, how can we face her parents? She's their only child. We must ensure she's alive before considering anything else."

"But..."

"No buts, and you can't say anything, understand? Unless we can produce solid evidence someday, there's no point in talking," Commander Guan said sternly.

“Yes. And what about her other requirements…” Zhang Jing answered in a muffled voice.

"Try to satisfy her, and arrange for Commander Yang's grandson and that doctor to meet with her as well."

"Yes, sir. Do you have any other orders?"

"No, go ahead!"

......

An Moxue returned to the guesthouse and reviewed the new information she had received that day. On the surface, it seemed that she knew what had happened, but she hadn't found out the key details. They were either missing or top secret, requiring extremely high access. However, An Moxue believed that if she pulled out the radish, she would find out the mud along with it. Sooner or later, she would find out the truth and get justice for herself.

She was already quite satisfied to know this news today; it's unrealistic to expect others to treat this matter the same way she did.

As for the commander's grandson and the female doctor, half a year has passed. If it weren't for the series of ambushes and pursuits I encountered, and the military's investigation, would they have simply covered it up and pretended it never happened?

An Moxue got angry at the thought of this; no one gave her justice, and she had to appease everyone.

In the dead of night, An Moxue closed the doors and windows tightly and went into the space medicine room again.

In her past life, An Moxue loved making medicine, but back then she only secretly researched it and never had the chance to use it.

In this life, not only are there no constraints from elders, but there's also the opportunity to test drugs. How wonderful!

Thank goodness our ancestors left us so many medicinal prescriptions; they are truly essential for home use, travel, and eliminating enemies.

An Moxue would forget everything when she was doing what she liked. So, she didn't hear the alarm ring for a long time. It wasn't until she finished making the medicine that she raised her head, turned her stiff neck a few times, and realized that it was already past four in the morning. She quickly packed her things, left the space, and fell asleep almost instantly on the bed in the military guesthouse.

And so, An Moxue didn't leave the military guesthouse all day, spending all her time, except for meals, making medicine in her room.

Zhang Jing came to see her the next day.

"Mo Xue, here, these are the documents you requested." Zhang Jing said, handing a file folder to An Mo Xue.

An Moxue opened the file, glanced at it, then put it back into the file bag and into her schoolbag, saying, "Uncle Zhang, thank you."

Zhang Jing smiled and said, "It's a small matter, nothing to mention! Also, the appointment with Commander Yang has been arranged, it's set for 10 a.m., we need to pack up now and then set off."

"Okay, Uncle Zhang, please wait for me in the lobby for a moment. I'll change my clothes and come out."

"Okay." With that, Zhang Jing left the room and closed the door behind him.

After Zhang Jing left, An Moxue changed into the most ordinary black pants, white sweater, and military overcoat. She also put on large black-rimmed glasses and made her skin tone appear more yellow, looking every bit the obedient girl.

An Moxue walked into the hall and called to Zhang Jing, who was waiting there, "Uncle Zhang, let's go!"

When Zhang Jing saw An Moxue like this, he was only stunned for a moment before casually saying, "My dear niece, you've really given your uncle a pleasant surprise."

“You’ll be surprised in a moment!” An Moxue said jokingly.

"Really? Then I'll wait and see. Niece, shall we set off?"

An Moxue raised an eyebrow and said, "Let's go!"
