Chapter 397 Get Moving, Get Chaotic

A few days later, after class, An Moxue heard groups of classmates chattering away.

"Have you heard? Sam was ambushed by a few guys in the alley last night and got beaten up so badly that he didn't come to school today."

"Yes, I didn't see him in the classroom."

Sophia leaned over and whispered, "Giddy, who was so kind as to beat him up? That's really doing a good deed anonymously. It's a pity we weren't there; it wasn't satisfying. I really want to see how badly he was beaten."

An Moxue was also very happy. She had spent time with Sophia yesterday to clear her name. If he bothered her again, she would have Albert beat him up.

"Sophia, how's your part-time job going? Do you feel like your language skills are improving?"

"Work is alright, but I didn't expect my language skills to improve so much. I can understand more in class than before, really more each day."

"Jido, our classmates said they want to get together this Sunday. Let Wang tell you."

Where is it?

"It's in a restaurant right next to the school. I'll come find you and we can go together."

"good."

After they finished talking, the two packed their things and left.

Not long after An Moxue returned to her residence, she received a phone call. As soon as the call connected, the person on the other end tapped the receiver rhythmically a few times before speaking: "Jessica, come home for dinner on Friday afternoon."

"Madam, you must have dialed the wrong number. I am not Jessica."

"Oh! Sorry to bother you!"

"It doesn't matter."

After hanging up the phone, An Moxue fell into deep thought. This mission had already been handed over three times, but without success. She was afraid of being exposed, which could bring death upon that scientist. So, she had to keep testing the waters. Should she try a different approach?

That evening, An Moxue changed her clothes, drove to the contact person for this mission, and said, "We've failed to complete the handover several times, so we need to find another way."

The man, hidden in the shadows, said, "Mr. Qian's place has been under constant surveillance, by several groups. I even suspect that his current nanny is monitoring him. So, getting the information out is now a problem. Moreover, several other groups also want to get information from him. The situation is complicated and not optimistic."

"Other countries?"

"Um."

"How about this, could you send a message to Mr. Qian and ask him to rewrite this document? I'll go and pick it up later."

"We can give it a try. It seems that they are monitoring the paper Mr. Qian is using now, in case there are any problems."

An Moxue pondered for a moment and said, "How about this, you find out what kind of paper Mr. Qian uses, and I'll get some next time I go to replace it for him, wouldn't that solve the problem?"

"But, will it work?"

“Alright, let’s cancel Friday’s operation for now. We’ll proceed once you’ve prepared the information again, sir. I already have a plan: the more forces involved, the better. That way, we can take advantage of the chaos and confuse the situation.”

“I know that Mr. Qian goes to a snack stall near his home for breakfast every morning at a fixed time, so I’m trying to find a way to get the message to him there.”

“Okay, give me his address so I can scout it out and plan accordingly. It would be best to go when the housekeeper is out grocery shopping, and Mr. Qian is home the most.”

"good."

After finishing her business, An Moxue drove away. On the way, she saw groups of thugs and some drunkards, as well as a robbery in the street.

Looking at these things, An Moxue thought of decades later, when darkness fell in this country, the people dared not go out. Men were afraid of being robbed, and women were afraid of being robbed. The public security was still very bad.

She shook off the unnecessary thoughts in her mind; what did they have to do with her anyway?

Isn't it good to be your own master in your own country?

The contact person quickly relayed the message that they had reached Mr. Qian, and that the nanny usually went to buy groceries after 10 a.m. and returned home around 11 a.m. Mr. Qian would be home this Saturday.

An Moxue, after reviewing the surveillance footage she had gathered about Mr. Qian's neighborhood, felt a sudden urge to curse. She discovered that all of Mr. Qian's neighbors had been bribed; the bicycle repairman and shoe repairman downstairs were all monitoring him, and even those who were simply walking around were doing so to spy on him.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, An Moxue ordered a bowl of wontons at a food stall near Mr. Qian's house. There were far fewer people there than in the morning; there were only three people eating at the food stall.

As she ate, she chatted with the owner, "Sister, how's business at this food stall? Can you support your family?"

It was rare to meet someone from Lan Guoguo. The older sister wasn't busy, so she sat down and chatted with An Moxue for a bit: "Sigh, it's hard to save money, but at least the whole family can eat their fill, which is better than back home. You've never been here before, sister!"

“Yes, big sister has a good eye. I heard about this place from a friend. It’s rare to find such authentic hometown food in a foreign land! It’s just as delicious as my friend said!” An Moxue said, giving a thumbs up.

"That's right. I can't speak for other things, but just the dishes I have here have a lot of repeat customers, especially Mr. Qian recently. Since I opened, he has basically been having breakfast here."

"Is Mr. Qian also a citizen of our Lan Kingdom?"

"That's right. But he's a learned person, unlike us ordinary folks, who all have nannies at home."

"That's really impressive! I admire cultured people."

The older sister looked up and saw Mr. Qian's nanny coming out with a basket. "Look, that's Mr. Qian's nanny, she's gone to buy groceries."

An Moxue followed her gaze and said, "Don't white people look down on us Asians? How can they be so devoted to being our nannies?"

"Who knows!" Just then, three more guests arrived. An Moxue could tell at a glance that they were skilled in martial arts, and knew that they were also there for Mr. Qian's house.

She finished her wontons, stood up, and called out to the older woman, "Sister, I'm done eating. I'll come to your house again next time I have time. Goodbye!"

As An Moxue spoke, she walked into the residential area.

Several homeless people nearby saw An Moxue leave the food stall and walked towards it.

The car repairman and the customer got into a fight, and the same thing happened at the shoe repair stall. The man there was unhappy with the repair and they started arguing.

The same thing happened at the food stalls. Customers complained that the homeless man was too dirty, and disputes arose. First they argued, and then they started fighting.

Suddenly, several monitoring points malfunctioned, and the people monitoring them all sprang into action, creating chaos. Some rushed towards this location, while others charged into the residential area, clashing with the people monitoring Mr. Qian.

It was under these circumstances that An Moxue went to the stairwell of Mr. Qian's house and knocked on the door.
