Chapter 83 Sunrise
A broken moan escaped from Su Nian's throat, as hoarse as crumpled silk.
He struggled to turn over, but found that his limbs seemed to be weighed down by lead blocks. The soreness in his lower back reminded him of the madness of last night.
The sky was still dark, and Su Nian could only vaguely see Ling Shen's face. His arms held him like an iron hoop, and his warm breath blew on his neck.
Su Nian was a little annoyed and poked Ling Shen's arm with her hand. Seeing that he had no reaction, she simply reached out and pinched his high nose bridge.
Ling Shen, who was sleeping, suddenly frowned, his eyelashes trembled violently, and he opened his eyes suddenly like a trapped animal that was awakened.
The pair of eyes that were usually filled with coldness were now filled with the mist of lust. The moment he looked at Su Nian, the corners of his mouth suddenly curled up in a dangerous arc.
Ling Shen's hoarse voice wrapped in a hot breath sprayed into his ears. Before Su Nian could react, he turned over and pressed the person under him.
The quilt slipped to the side as the two of them tangled, and the traces of last night's joy blossomed like bright flowers on each other's skin.
Su Nian raised her hand and traced Ling Shen's eyebrows and eyes. A hint of laziness added a bit of softness to her originally cold face.
A low laugh escaped from Ling Shen's throat, he held his rebellious hand and pressed it on the pillow, "Why are you awake so early?" His hoarse voice had the unique hoarseness of waking up in the morning, and the ending tone still carried the lingering tide of emotion.
Su Nian tilted her head to look out the window. The dark sky was being dyed dark blue, and a few morning stars were still stubbornly hanging in the sky. "I can't sleep. Why don't we go watch the sunrise?"
Ling Shen lowered his head and gently kissed his red earlobe, his hot palm moving along his waistline, "I'm fine, but you..." He paused deliberately, his fingertips brushing across the red mark on Su Nian's waist, causing him to tremble involuntarily.
Su Nian punched Ling Shen's chest in anger, "I'm sure I'll be fine. Come on, get up."
"Okay... okay, get up and watch the sunrise with you." Ling Shen turned over and got out of bed. His naked back was covered with red marks. Before Ling Shen felt anything, Su Nian had already turned her head away embarrassedly.
"Put on some clothes." Su Nian muttered and threw the nightgown towards Ling Shen.
Ling Shen reacted extremely quickly, stretching out his long arms to catch the robe. The movement tugged at the wound on his back, causing him to let out a soft hiss.
He looked down at the nightgown in his hands, then raised his eyes to look at Su Nian's red ears. Suddenly he understood something and a mischievous smile appeared on the corner of his mouth: "That's not what you said last night."
The voice was hoarse from waking up in the morning, with a slightly rising tone at the end, full of ambiguous hints.
Su Nian snorted coldly, put on her nightgown, and walked past Ling Shen towards the bathroom. "It's up to you to wear it or not, humph."
"Hahaha..." Ling Shen laughed out loud as he looked at Su Nian who was obviously running away in panic.
Last night's heavy snow fell like shredded cotton, rustling for most of the night. The cold wind, carrying icy crystals, swept through the branches, and the dry branches, unable to bear the weight, made fragile crackling sounds from time to time. The snow then fell like broken jade, piling up layer upon layer of snow waves on the rooftop.
Su Nian hunched her shoulders as she stepped out of the emergency door, and a layer of frost instantly formed on her eyelashes.
Ling Shen was already waiting at the door. Without waiting for his reaction, he reached out and wrapped him in a large down jacket. The warm fabric enveloped both of them, and Su Nian almost completely sank into the soft down, the faint scent of cedar lingering around his nose.
"When did you buy such big clothes?" Su Nian hid in Ling Shen's clothes, looking at the down jackets with some curiosity, which could fit two people with room left over.
Ling Shen let out a low laugh, his hot breath condensing into a white mist in the cold air. He raised his hand to tuck Su Nian's scattered hair behind her ear, the warmth of his fingertips radiating through her hair. "This wasn't bought by me, it was by our mother."
At this point, a gentle smile appeared in his eyes. "Last month, when we were shopping at the mall, she insisted that this dress was festive. I originally wanted to give it to Dad as a New Year's gift, but Dad thought the khaki color looked like an old sack, so he secretly threw it in my car when Mom wasn't looking."
Su Nian looked at the dress in the dim light of the corridor lamp. The dull khaki fabric really looked like an old item from the last century.
But the wide design wrapped the two of them tightly, and no matter how cold the wind was, it could not blow into this small warm world.
He leaned closer into Ling Shen's arms and heard the steady and strong heartbeat from his chest, like a gentle lullaby.
The distant skyline was initially a solid dark blue, like silk frozen in the cold night, with a cold luster.
It was not until a very light orange color appeared in the east, like a silk thread smudged by the fingertips of an embroiderer, that it quietly tore open the cracks in the night.
The mist condensed into tiny ice crystals in the air, and as the warm color flowed, it reflected a glass-like glimmer.
Suddenly, a bit of golden red suddenly burst out from the orange halo, just like a red-hot charcoal falling into the boundless snowfield. The splashing sparks instantly dyed the layers of clouds into rouge.
The morning glow was like an overturned paint palette, spreading across the sky wantonly, and even the thin clouds on the horizon were rimmed with flowing golden edges.
Su Nian's fingers trembled slightly, and she took out her cell phone eagerly, but the camera could never focus on the dancing light.
Watching the sun slowly peek out from behind the mountains, the cold frost particles reflected thousands of tiny stars in the morning light.
The sunlight penetrated the stagnant mist, casting long spots of light on the soft snow, as if covering the earth with a warm velvet blanket.
The exhaled white air curled up in the beam of light, and was stained with a soft golden glow, as if even breathing had become visible warmth.
Ling Shen's gaze was always on Su Nian. Looking at his golden outline outlined by the sunlight, his Adam's apple rolled unconsciously.
He could no longer suppress the throbbing in his heart, and suddenly hugged the person in his arms, clasped his neck with his warm hands, and kissed the two slightly cool lips deeply.
The cold wind carried snowflakes past their ears, and the only thing left in their world was each other's rapid breathing, foreheads touching, and the corners of their lips raised at the same time - this winter morning wrapped in morning frost was frozen into the warmest picture in their memory.
"I love you, Ling Shen."
Su Nian's voice was soft, but it was clear enough for Ling Shen to hear. He hugged her tighter, "I love you too, Su Nian."
The sun shines on the rooftop, shining on the two people walking away hand in hand...
