Chapter 31 Daglas (Part 3)

Chapter 31 Daglas (Part 3)

Ling Xiao and the others stood beside the little boy, keeping him company. After about five minutes, the little boy calmed down and stopped crying.

"Would you be willing to leave with us?" Ling Xiao asked gently.

"Can I bury my uncle first, and then talk about leaving?" the little boy asked.

"I'm sorry, but it's not possible at the moment. We plan to go to the Martial Soul Temple first to report the situation to Bishop Salas. Bishop Salas will then send someone to investigate the scene and find the culprit. Therefore, we cannot disturb the scene for our own selfish reasons," Xipu said apologetically.

What he didn't mention was that evil spirit masters use rather sinister methods, and no one knows what they might do with the corpses. If you touch a corpse without permission, it could lead to something terrible. After all, there are records in the Spirit Hall of an incident where a spirit master, out of curiosity, touched a corpse left by an evil spirit master, which resulted in him being poisoned by the evil poison on the corpse, causing the entire team to die.

After a long silence, the little boy finally said, "I'm sorry for causing you trouble. I'll go with you."

“You haven’t told me your name yet!” Ling Xiao said.

"Shouldn't you introduce yourself before asking someone's name?" the little boy retorted.

Hearing the little boy's words, Ling Xiao was speechless. However, he also felt that the little boy was right, so he introduced, "This is Lord Xipu, the Hall Master of the Notting City Martial Soul Branch Hall. This is Uncle Su Yuntao, the Deacon of Notting City. And I come from Longmen Village. My name is Ling... Mig."

“My name is Dagles, nice to meet you,” the little boy replied, keeping his promise.

"Wait, aren't you called Ling Xiao?" Su Yuntao asked, pointing at Ling Xiao after realizing what was happening.

"I don't know either. Just now, when I was about to say my name was Ling Xiao, I suddenly felt that it was inappropriate to say my name as Ling Xiao. At the same time, the name Miguel suddenly popped into my mind, so I just said it out loud," Ling Xiao explained.

Upon hearing Ling Xiao's introduction, Daglas's expression softened slightly, but he still asked, "What do you think is inappropriate? I think the name Ling Xiao is quite good."

"I don't know either. It's like something bad will happen if I tell you my name is Ling Xiao," Ling Xiao explained again.

"So, which name should I call you?"

After thinking for a moment, Ling Xiao replied, "Let's call him Miguel."

"Let him be called Mig, it's no big deal," Xipu said nonchalantly. In his view, as long as it was still the same person, there was no problem. Xipu had already spoken, so Su Yuntao couldn't say anything more. After all, expressing opposition now would be a bit disrespectful to his leader.

After putting aside their concerns about the name, Miguel and his group headed towards the carriage, and soon they arrived at it.

After getting into the carriage, Miguel began asking Daglas, "Why were you alone in the secret room?"

Although the secret room provided for all their needs, it was certainly not a place for someone of Daglas's age.

“My father’s name is Steve, a general in the Heavenly Dou Empire,” Daglas replied. After saying this, Daglas seemed to shut out the outside world, ceasing all communication.

“Steve? Why does that name sound so familiar?” Xipu muttered to himself.

"Lord Temple Master, does this look familiar to you too?" Miguel asked, looking puzzled.

“Yes, but I don’t know why I can’t remember where I’ve heard the name Steve before,” Xipu replied.

After that, the carriage returned to silence. After an unknown amount of time, Miguel found the name Steve in his memory. It turned out that Steve was his cheap father's boss.
