Chapter 350 Miguel's Anxiety and Indecision
But putting himself in their shoes, if his own brothers had treated him like that since childhood, Miguel felt he would be utterly disgusted. Although Daglas's expression hadn't changed at first, who knew what he was really thinking? From his daily interactions with Daglas, Miguel clearly understood that Daglas was a very straightforward and honest man, and would likely be even less likely to forgive his actions.
Miguel grew increasingly confused and unsure of what to do. He waited for Daglas to return in his palace, but time ticked by, and Daglas still hadn't come back. Miguel's heart sank; in his mind, Daglas must utterly despise him.
Miguel wanted to go find Daglas and explain the situation, but he didn't know how to begin. Just as Miguel was struggling with whether or not to go find Daglas, Daglas returned. Seeing Daglas return, Miguel instinctively pulled the blanket up to cover himself.
"Brother, are you still shy?" Daglas teased as he pulled Miguel's blanket over him, a smile on his face as he teased him.
Miguel held onto the blanket tightly, not wanting Daglas to pull it off. After trying for a while, Daglas stopped pulling the blanket down.
Miguel heard no more noise outside, so he cautiously peeked out. But the moment he lifted the covers, he realized Daglas was still there. An awkward silence fell over the room, and Miguel didn't know what to say.
"Um, Daglas, you haven't left yet?" Miguel asked somewhat awkwardly.
"Hmm, I really don't understand why you're shy, brother. You've seen my body before," Daglas said, expressing his incomprehension.
"Um, if I touch you there, you don't mind, don't you think I'm a pervert?" Miguel asked suspiciously.
"I get angry when I talk about this."
When Daglas got to this point, Miguel's heart jumped. He didn't know how to explain to Daglas, since his previous behavior had indeed seemed a bit sleazy.
“You actually started the fire but didn’t help put it out, so after you left I had to soak in the cold spring for a while. Brother, how are you going to make it up to me?” Daglas said.
After he finished speaking, Miguel finally felt relieved. Although Daglas said he was blaming him, Miguel could tell that Daglas was not really angry.
"Also, brother, what happened before was at most an accident. You didn't do it on purpose. Besides, isn't it normal for brothers to help each other?" Daglas added, seeing that Miguel's expression was still not good.
Seeing that Daglas really didn't care much about Miguel's behavior, Miguel finally breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't want his friendship with Daglas to fall apart because of this.
"What kind of compensation do you want?" Miguel asked cautiously.
Although it has been confirmed that Daglas genuinely doesn't care, we still dare not let our guard down, since no one knows what Daglas is really thinking.
"I haven't thought of a compensation yet, let's leave it for now, brother. Hurry up and get dressed, then we'll go eat together. Oh, and do you still have any movies like that?"
Seeing that Daglas was acting as usual, Miguel gradually became less wary and resumed his usual banter and laughter with Daglas. Daglas, seeing Miguel return to his previous way of interacting, couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. If Miguel had remained so wary, it would have been difficult for him to seduce him, since he had intentionally guided Miguel's previous behavior.
Unfortunately, Dagles didn't expect Miguel to be so innocent. But this put his mind at ease, as it meant that Miguel definitely hadn't been promiscuous in his past life. After all, according to the little system's introduction, Miguel possessed memories of his past life, and the movie he had given him before must have been one of the classics from that life.
