Chapter 40 On the Eve of Leaving Heaven Dou City (Part Two)

“Young master, you should handle this matter yourself. After all, I cannot make decisions for His Holiness the bishop,” the deacon said neither humbly nor arrogantly.

"Where is His Excellency the Bishop now?"

"Young master, I will take you to see His Holiness the bishop."

After speaking, the deacon walked ahead, like a guide, leading Miguel toward Salas's location.

Soon, Miguel arrived at Salas's location. At the door, Miguel heard Salas roaring inside: "Investigate! Investigate thoroughly! These nobles of Tiandou City are tired of living! They dare to secretly cultivate evil soul masters. They really don't know what death is coming to them."

The deacon seemed not to hear anything, and knocked on the door. Salas then said, "Please come in."

The butler then opened the door for Miguel, who went in without any hesitation. The butler followed him in and closed the door behind him.

When Miguel entered, he saw a large group of people standing in front of Salas. Upon seeing Miguel, Salas immediately greeted him with a smile and said, "Miguel, what brings you here?"

“Your Excellency, I understand that you sent someone to inform me that you were leaving this afternoon. However, I plan to bring Daglas along as well, since it's not good for him to stay in Tiandou City all the time,” Miguel said.

“Okay, go back and pack your things now. I’ll take you away from Tiandou City this afternoon.” Salas wasn’t curious at all about Mig bringing Dagrass, and said in a gentle tone.

“Thank you, Your Excellency. I will go back and prepare now,” Miguel replied.

After saying goodbye to Salas, Miguel left the house and headed towards the bedroom from the previous day.

When they got back, Daglas was already awake. The moment Daglas saw Miguel, he pounced on him. Luckily, Daglas wasn't very heavy, otherwise Miguel might have fallen to the ground because of Daglas's pounce.

After hugging Miguel for a while, Daglas spoke up, saying, "Brother, I thought you had left again."

When Daglas spoke, his voice was trembling with tears, leaving Miguel completely bewildered. After waking up, Daglas realized that Miguel had left. For some reason, Daglas's mind was filled with the thought that his brother had left him again, and it was these thoughts that made Daglas somewhat irritable.

He could find Miguel just by going outside, but for some reason, Daglas's body resisted opening the door. It was as if there were some ferocious beasts behind the door, and that if he opened it, Miguel would leave him again.

"Alright, I'm just going out for a walk, it's nothing. I just got word that we're leaving Tiandou City together this afternoon. Would you like to come with me?"

"I do." Perhaps influenced by the memories implanted in his mind the night before, Daglas answered without hesitation.

For some reason, when Miguel heard Daglas say "I do," he couldn't help but think of the "I do" at the wedding. Miguel quickly snapped out of it, cleared his head, and then asked Daglas, "Are you hungry now? How about we wait until we finish breakfast before coming back to pack?"

"Okay, brother."

After obtaining Daglas's consent, Miguel led Daglas to the dining hall of the Spirit Temple for their first meal of the day.

After finishing their meal, Miguel and Daglas returned to their respective bedrooms and began packing their belongings. Once Miguel was finished, he prepared to continue his training, but just then, he heard a knock at the door. Opening it, he saw Daglas standing there.
