Chapter 147 Going Out to See 2020

Xie Yuancheng now works seamlessly with the shopkeeper, and even the shopkeeper's superior has given Xie Yuancheng many rare and precious treasures. However, since they all require electricity, he can't take them back, and thus becomes even more obsessed with the laboratory.

That day, Xie Yuancheng had already mastered the integration of the system with the phone, so he took me out. The recognition system at the door turned and opened the door.

Outside, there are small villas, and not far away are high-rise buildings. The flowers and plants are all treated. Although they are very pretty, I don't like them at all.

"Ying'er, let's go for a walk in the library."

"I knew you couldn't stay still."

He put his arm around my shoulder and we went out. As soon as we crossed the street, some little girls stopped to look at him.

"It's all your fault. You don't even know how to put on a mask when you go out."

“Ying’er, I jumped off the cliff with you back then, how could I have prepared any face?”

"Forget it, it won't hurt to take a look. The more they look at you, the better you are. I didn't choose the wrong man."

Xie Yuancheng actually started bringing up old grievances: "Back when you first went to Linyang, we lived so far apart, and you would always take a detour whenever we met."

"That's because I'm the prince consort."

"Yeah, that's true. But I took you away. Now that I think about it, I'm glad I took you away, otherwise you would have been stuck in the palace."

"Yes, yes, you're the best."

I pulled my hat down low, and we spoke very softly, but I knew there were surveillance cameras everywhere, and I desperately wanted to make sure no one overheard. Even if they did, they'd probably think we were crazy, or just too immersed in our roles.

I always thought the library was a quiet place, but why are so many people staring at him? I even walked right next to him.

The books inside were automatically selected for reading. Xie Yuancheng only looked at the physics and chemistry books. I randomly picked up a picture book, sat next to him, and got sleepier and sleepier as I looked at it.

He gestured on his phone and took a few pictures of the contents of the book. Luckily, he remembered to put the phone on silent, otherwise people might have heard the noise and come over to kindly remind him.

The books he picked were all so weird; I was practically lying on the table, and he was still flipping through them.

By the time he finished reading, four hours had passed. I saw relativity, spacetime and comparative statistical charts. He really could understand it, right? He was able to make such a precise deployment in Dazhao. Even though someone betrayed him, it was still really good.

Finally, we can go out. Xie Yuancheng said he has to check the information every day. I just closed my eyes when I heard that.

"Ying'er, how can you bear to leave me all alone out here? If some fool kidnaps me, you and Yu'er will be orphans and widows." He said, wiping away tears in front of me. I immediately surrendered. It's just reading with him, I'll read then.

"Ying'er is the best."

"What a foolish husband."

"I'm only foolish towards you."

He gets all cocky when I praise him. Anyway, this place is different from Dazhao. If he wants to learn about it, he can. I'll just accompany him.

He had just finished dealing with something on his phone when he led me to the other side. We'd only gone a few steps when we saw someone snatch something and run away. In a place under constant surveillance, someone still steals things—aren't they worried about the police chief?!

The thief ran towards us, but Xie Yuancheng tapped him twice and then kicked him, and the thief fell to the ground and couldn't get up.

"Thank you so much, handsome young man." A woman in her forties hugged the paper bag from the thief's hand. "This is my son's surgery fee. If it were lost today, my son would not survive."

The onlookers were cursing the thief, and a few of the bolder ones had already tied him up with straps. Xie Yuancheng pulled me away and we sneaked out. He hailed a taxi and hurriedly pulled me in. As I closed the car door, I heard someone asking where the person who had caught the thief was.

He gave me an address, and when I looked it up on my phone, it turned out to be a science and technology museum.

What are you going there for?

“My master said to go out more often when you have free time. He sent me this place. I still have some time now, so I’ll go check it out.”

The car was parked outside the science museum. I was particularly impressed by the shopkeeper; I wondered how he managed to get our ID cards, and how they actually came to be useful.

Xie Yuancheng's hair was better than the girls'; his long black hair cascaded down his body, and although he was wearing a black hat, he looked very masculine.

Inside were all sorts of high-tech gadgets; aside from rockets and satellites, the displays weren't as impressive as the ones on the workbench. But I still walked around with him; he was in a really good mood, taking me to try out all the new and interesting things.

The money in Xie Yuancheng's WeChat account is increasing every day, so he doesn't need to earn any more money. We go out less, and we don't need to buy a house or a car, so we don't need them.

"Ying'er, let's go to this place."

He had just received an order. I was sitting on a lounge chair when I took it and realized it was for the aquarium, with an underwater restaurant downstairs.

"What if this place suddenly floods and we can't get out?"

I looked at the blue sky above and was still worried, while Xie Yuancheng laughed beside me.

"Don't worry, I'm a very good swimmer, I won't drown."

So I went with him. We took two taxis, and he started to complain, saying he wanted to get a driving test.

"I can teach you this, but you still need to get a driver's license first."

"Ying'er knows how to do this?"

Yes, I will.

We had just entered the aquarium with our tickets when I pulled him aside to a quieter spot to explain to him that when I was a secret agent in those places abroad, not being able to drive was like not having an oxygen mask.

Xie Yuancheng nodded: "I understand. I'll ask my master. If I can learn it, I'll take Ying'er to those places you mentioned and walk through them again."

I patted his face: "My silly husband, those places are all remote wilderness, and some small countries are at war, with gunfire everywhere. We're not special agents, how can we go? We were only able to go because of Ji Shuang's identity back then. I still feel terrified just thinking about it. Let's not go."

"Okay." Xie Yuancheng was definitely disappointed. He wanted to see the current war scene, but I told him I would watch a war movie with him when we got back, and he cheered up a little.

The aquarium is full of things that grow in the sea. He had seen some of them in books before, and now that he saw them in person, he had long forgotten his earlier unpleasantness.

He was handsome and stood out in the crowd. During the performance, the staff invited him to go on stage to help, and he did. The girls clapping below were even happier.

I sat in my seat and clapped along. Next time we go out, it's safer to let him go to places with fewer people.

After going around in circles, we finally finished seeing everything in the aquarium. He then enthusiastically took me to a restaurant we liked, but we ran into the actor's agent again as soon as we entered.

"Handsome, what a coincidence! Shall we share a table?"
