Chapter 214 A Difficult Choice

I patted his little bottom, and Yu'er finally stopped: "Liangliang~"

"I'll give you an even shinier one." I placed the gold-inlaid jade bracelet in front of him, and Yu'er reached out to snatch it.

I held him on the ground, then squatted down next to him waving the bracelet. Yu'er got happier and happier as he grabbed my arm, trying to climb up.

"Mommy~ Liangliang, I want Liangliang~" Yu'er would whine to me if she couldn't get it, and Mommy and Anxiang would laugh as they watched.

I gave the bracelet to Yu'er, and he treated it like a precious treasure, hugging it and going to play in a corner.

Anxiang followed beside me. Seeing that Suling and Xizhi were still asleep, I asked my mother to come outside with me. I wanted to tell her everything that had happened today. Although my mother doesn't go out much, she has more experience than I do, so she can give me some advice.

"Mother~" Yu'er suddenly ran over before my mother and I even stepped out the door.

"My dear son, Mom and Grandma are going out to talk. You and Sister Anxiang can stay inside and take care of your younger siblings, okay?"

Yu'er bit her little lip and shook her head, her watery eyes peeking out again. If I hadn't taken her, she probably would have cried for me back then.

"Ying'er, let's take Yu'er with us." Mother spoils Yu'er too much, and now he's even more unruly.

"Mommy~ Hug me~" Yu'er stretched out her little hands, looking at me pitifully.

This little devil is always eavesdropping on the girls. His eyes are practically melting when he looks at me. If the little guy wants to listen, then let him listen.

"Mother, you spoil Yu'er too much. He thought we were going out."

Yu'er's eyes began to sparkle: "Mmm~"

I held him up to show my mother: "See? Yu'er himself admitted it." Yu'er grinned from the side; he has all his teeth now, and his smile is especially beautiful.

"My good son~" I kissed Yu'er's face several times, and he laughed and wriggled in my arms.

“Ying’er, let’s take Yu’er for a walk outside, so he won’t run after us whenever he hears we’re going out.”

"Grandma~ Haha~"

His mother clapped her hands in front of him: "My dear grandson, I'll take you there now."

Yu'er snuggled happily in my arms; I'm truly amazed by him, he's so eager to go out!

Although we were just walking by the door, Yu'er's excitement never stopped once we left the house.

"Madam, isn't the eldest young master a little too happy?" Anxiang was a little worried, while I looked at Yu'er who couldn't stop smiling.

"He's been staying in the mansion for too long; it's good to take him out."

Seeing that there was no one in front of me, I had the servants stand around a short distance away to prevent anyone from coming over, and then I put Yu'er on the ground.

He moved like a rabbit, running incredibly fast, circling around the servants.

Haha~

"Yu'er~ Come quickly to Mommy, this is a wonderful thing~"

Yu'er clung to the legs of two soldiers, hiding behind them and refusing to come over. I had no choice but to walk over, but he actually ran back.

That kid is really naughty, making us run after him. Luckily, one of the soldiers was very fast and had good light-footed skills, so he caught Yu'er in no time.

"Waaah~ Mother~"

I ran over, panting, and hugged Yu'er in my arms, refusing to let go no matter how much he struggled.

Seeing that I really wouldn't put him down, Yu'er started making empty threats: "Wow~"

"Isn't this Yuancheng's child? Why is he crying in the street?"

I heard the Second Prince's voice and hurriedly turned around with Yu'er in my arms. The little boy was not cooperating at all and made a fuss in my arms.

Thankfully, Mother came over: "Second Prince, what brings you here?"

"I was just passing by when I heard the child crying, so I came over."

“The child is young and likes to run around everywhere. We’ll take him back and discipline him properly.”

I ignored what the Second Prince was saying and carried Yu'er back home. Yu'er patted my shoulder, saying he just wanted to run around everywhere. I'm not taking him out anymore; if he gets lost, where will I find him?

"Mother~ Waaah."

Yu'er started rubbing his eyes, pretending to be pitiful in front of me. I pinched one of his cheeks and said, "You naughty boy, you're not allowed to go out anymore!"

"Wow~" He opened his mouth and started howling again. I put him in my hand and gently patted his little hand.

"What did I do wrong?"

Yu'er shook her head, gasping for breath, "Mommy~ hug me~"

"All you do is act cute with your mother. You almost got kidnapped by bad guys, you know? If you had been lost, you would never have seen your parents again, and you would have been taken to be a little blind bear!"

"Ying'er~" Xie Yuancheng appeared out of nowhere, holding a small wind chime and shaking it in front of Yu'er: "How can you do this, making your precious son a little blind bear?"

"You don't know, we just ran into the Second Prince outside. He seems to have seen my face. I wonder if he'll be suspicious."

"Don't worry, your men's clothes and women's clothes are very different." Xie Yuancheng picked up Yu'er, pulled me by the waist and kissed me.

Just as I was about to push him away, I heard the Second Prince's voice. Why did he come into the manor? I ended up leaning against Xie Yuancheng's chest.

"Yuancheng, you really came to the capital? I thought they were just making things up."

“I brought my son to meet my parents-in-law. Did my wife scare you just now? She’s always restless and clumsy when it comes to taking care of the child.”

"No."

I wasn't wearing a veil, but luckily Yu'er was there. I leaned against him, and Yu'er made a few "Eh" sounds before hugging my head and playing with it. He took a few of my hairpins.

Haha~

Xie Yuancheng carried me to the other side: "My wife is shy and doesn't know how to talk. She doesn't dare to see people unless she's wearing a veil."

I didn't care about anything else now, and just hugged Xie Yuancheng's waist. Fortunately, the Second Prince didn't say anything. He just said to go to the main hall and wait for Xie Yuancheng, and that he had something to say to him later.

My hair was a complete mess because of Yu'er's mess. The Second Prince had just left when Xie Yuancheng finally carried Yu'er to the other side.

"Silly Yu'er, all of Mother's hair buns are gone."

When Yu'er saw me talking about him, he grinned and laughed, even leaning back. Luckily, Xie Yuancheng knew kung fu, otherwise he would have fallen to the ground.

Xie Yuancheng led us back. I look completely unpresentable now. He said that the Second Prince has come to the mansion three times recently, and we will probably have to leave before the two children are even six months old.

"Yuancheng, I... I don't want to leave the manor anymore, and I still have my precious son." I was about to cry. One second I was playing with Yu'er, and the next second I had to part ways.

"Mother~ Bitter~" Yu'er gently patted my face, his brows furrowed, and I quickly smoothed them out.

"It's not good for my dear son to be so sentimental; he should always be smiling."

"Hehe~" Yu'er laughed when she heard me laugh, then hugged my hand and giggled, "Mwah~"

"You little rascal, you're blowing kisses everywhere now." I stroked Yu'er's little chin, and he chuckled.

“You and your son are both so childish. I want to go see him and see what the Second Prince is doing here.”

Xie Yuancheng placed Yu'er in my arms and had Anxiang comb my hair before leaving. Yu'er was still laughing beside me. I won't touch his little chin next time; he just keeps laughing!
