Chapter 426 A Horrifying Experience in the Lamp

I saw Xie Yuancheng's arrogant expression. Has he forgotten why I'm angry and upset? It's always because of him.

"Yes, who told you to act rashly for the sake of a woman? I was only thinking of myself. If I married a scumbag, how could I have a good life?"

"You're just angry because of a woman, see how I deal with you!" When I saw him reach out, I quickly ran around the round table. This place is really well-organized, with tables and chairs placed outside.

"Don't come any closer, or I'll get angry." I couldn't dodge anymore; if Xie Yuancheng really wanted to grab me, I would definitely be caught.

"Ying'er, come here right now. If you say that again, I won't let you leave the house."

"You're so annoying!" I spun around several times but couldn't dodge him. I pretended to walk towards him, causing Xie Yuancheng to miss his target, and then went to open the door.

It should have been a smooth process, but there was something wrong with the lock; I tried several times but couldn't open it. Just as I was struggling, Xie Yuancheng came over and unceremoniously grabbed my waist and spun me around.

"Oh dear, let go! I'm scared!" There were lights around, and some tassels were swaying around, which looked terrifying.

"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, I'm right here with Ying'er." Xie Yuancheng turned around and hugged me tightly to comfort me. I had just stepped into thin air and then saw the light that looked like an eye, so how could I be in a good mood!

"Waaah~ It's all your fault~" I hugged Xie Yuancheng's waist tightly. Could there be something wrong with the light? "Go check the light. I felt like I saw eyes just now. It was so scary."

"Okay, take a breather and don't worry too much. It's all your fault, Chengcheng's fault."

Xie Yuancheng patted my back. The thought of a person in a red wedding dress suddenly walking out of the lamp, revealing those terrifying eyes, made me more and more frightened.

I clung to Xie Yuancheng's waist, trembling uncontrollably, pressing myself against his neck. Xie Yuancheng tried to comfort me softly, but I couldn't hear a word he said; my mind was racing.

"Ying'er, I won't scare you next time, don't be afraid." He took the handkerchief from my hand and wiped my sweat. I leaned into his arms and shook my head. There would be no next time. I was scared to death the first time.

"How about I take you to see the children, let you see some beautiful things, maybe you'll forget about it."

I'd rather admire his beautiful body than the child. I looked up at him, my heart pounding and my face watering. I needed his comfort.

"Ying'er." Xie Yuancheng cupped my face and kissed me, but I still shook my head, determined to make him feel guilty. "Then whatever you want, I'll do whatever you say."

"Keep the books first? That's not a reliable thing to do. I need to test you."

"Yes, which lamp scared you just now? I'll go check." She's so clever; she knew exactly how to comfort me the moment she turned around. I turned to look, and I was startled again.

"Come on, let me cover Ying'er's eyes." Xie Yuancheng used his belt to tie my eyes shut, so I couldn't see anything this time, and I held his hand even tighter.

"He's right behind us, don't let go, even if you see him, you're not allowed to let go of me." I hugged his waist tightly. It was better that I couldn't see him; my mind was completely blank.

"Yes, my Ying'er, I'll carry you on my back to see it, that way I won't let go."

"No! I want to wrap my arms around your waist. If you get scared and run away, I can just pull you down with me!"

"Sigh, these scary things are only for little girls like you to be afraid of. I'm not afraid of ghosts and gods. I've seen plenty of scary things before, so I'm not afraid of ghosts and gods at all."

"Then let's go. I won't be responsible if you get scared!" I urged him to go and see. He used Ying'er Residence to coax me today. This matter is not over yet.

Xie Yuancheng pulled me closer, and as we got closer, all I could hear was him turning on the light. Something fell down, and I quickly grabbed his waist.

"What is it, huh?"

"I told you there's nothing to be afraid of. It's just some things that don't exist in the manor. I'll find them for you tomorrow and see who's playing tricks in the manor."

Playing tricks? I quickly loosened my belt, and upon seeing what had fallen, I immediately screamed, "Ah! What is this?!"

"Why did you untie the strap?" Xie Yuancheng tried to put it back on me, but I refused. Looking at the shape of the head, it looked a lot like a Yaksha. No wonder what I saw earlier was a ghostly figure drifting in the wind.

"Ying'er, let's not watch anymore. We shouldn't have come here today." Xie Yuancheng tied my hands with a belt and picked me up.

"But, but, what's down there?"

"Someone will come and clean up." As soon as he finished speaking, a few people rushed out. I quickly leaned against him. I was certain I had seen those faces somewhere before.

"I don't want to think about it anymore. If I had known we would encounter this, I definitely wouldn't have lied to you. I would have brought you here during the day."

"It's that same excuse again. I don't want to talk to you." I was terrified and quickly grabbed Xie Yuancheng's clothes belt, hoping to get back as soon as possible.

He walked with a brisk pace and quickly reached the courtyard. I told him to turn the house up very bright, just like daytime. Xie Yuancheng added a bead, which wasn't very bright when it was in the corner, but after a while the house was brightly lit. Only then did he remove the other lights and hang them up.

"Thank goodness, I'll never go out to look at lights at night again!" I'm traumatized by lights now. Who in their right mind would put something like that on a light?

"Ying'er, I've already sent them to check the lights in the mansion. Don't worry, they'll definitely give you an explanation. Don't be afraid." Xie Yuancheng wiped my sweat, but I waved his hand away and went to relax in the hot spring.

Before he came over, I took off my clothes and saw a small bubble on the water, which then disappeared. I went to get the bead to look at it. Although the hot spring had added medicinal bath ingredients, the water was still very clear.

"Xie Yuancheng! You idiot, you don't even know that something has been done to the manor!"

"What's wrong?" He came over holding the black iron sword. I pointed to a white silk ribbon below. "This is the water ribbon that's placed below, not the crawling ribbon."

"It just blew bubbles." As soon as I finished speaking, Xie Yuancheng drew his sword and thrust out the white silk ribbon, with a small insect hopping on the ground.

"Burn it!" Xie Yuancheng shouted, and the insects wrapped in white silk on the ground caught fire. I don't even know where the fire came from.

"What's going on?" I didn't see anything, so I wasn't scared.

Xie Yuancheng told me not to speak yet. He shook a small bottle of medicine into the water, and soon the water caught fire. The guards and maids outside rushed in, and I quickly hid behind him.

"Light the lamps and thoroughly inspect all the water in the mansion using a rigorous method."

"Yes!" The men acknowledged the order and left. Bizhu asked if they should pour out the water, and Xie Yuancheng told her to fetch a basin of fresh water to check.

I glanced at the fire on the water again; it must be oil and bar, otherwise how could it possibly catch fire?
