There's a lot of discussion about this in the gaming community right now, and everyone's enthusiasm is high. In any case, passion and adventure are always the constant themes in the virtual world.
I burst out laughing while holding my tablet, finally getting back into the mindset I was when I first started playing the game. But Xie Yuancheng only disconnected all my game accounts in the middle of the night and started lecturing me again.
"Okay, stop talking." I put the tablet and phone in Xie Yuancheng's hands: "Yuancheng is stingy, I'm ignoring you."
I rolled inside with the blanket to sleep. That's too much! I'm just playing games, and he's always nagging me.
"Ying'er~" Xie Yuancheng also came closer: "These machines are bad for your eyes. How will you be able to focus on them if you play too much?"
"Where can't I focus my mind? These are all virtual things."
"Since it's fake, why are you still angry with me?"
I pulled back a corner of the blanket and saw him still laughing: "Hmph, the government is allowed to set fires, but the common people are not allowed to light lamps!"
Xie Yuancheng directly lifted the blanket and rubbed my face: "You're so good at talking. My master specifically reminded me not to play games too much, as it's bad for my health and my eyes."
"That's you, I'm not doing anything big." I held his hand in mine, and if he kept rubbing my face, it would dislocate my shoulder.
"Master said it will all be finished in a little over half a month. Then I'll take you out for a walk and let you see more of the world. Don't always think about playing games."
Where to?
"Go to the place you used to be."
I quickly sat up. The area was still in the midst of war, and even if I went there, I wouldn't be able to see Ji Shuang, and something bad would happen to me.
"No, let's just go see some beautiful scenery. Let's not go to dangerous places. If you come back with bruises, don't even think about sharing a bed with me."
"We'll be back in a few days, nothing will happen."
I turned my head away from him. There are some places I can go, but I'm not allowed to go to any dangerous places, because if I go there, I won't be able to come back.
"Ying'er~"
"If you go, don't come back. I'll pretend I don't know you."
Xie Yuancheng sat down next to him: "You used to say I had a temper, but you're no different now. Let's go take a look."
"You can just watch it on your computer. If you go there, you might just go to heaven."
"No, Master has already made arrangements. We'll only be gone for three days."
I was a little confused as to why he would go to those places: "Are you up to something?"
"How could that be? Master also said I could go and see how people fight nowadays, maybe I can see through the spies around us. Yu'er is not even a year old yet, and you are always causing trouble, so we have to be on guard."
"Alright then, let's go."
Anyway, the shopkeeper's arrangements will ensure he doesn't get hurt. Xie Yuancheng leaned closer, and I quickly pulled the blanket off, rolling it into a spring roll. No matter what he said, I wouldn't let go.
Xie Yuancheng lay down angrily to the side: "Ying'er seems more and more like she's leaving me, this is not a good thing."
"Even if you plead until the end of the world, I won't let you get close."
It's almost dawn, and he's still not asleep. He probably doesn't want to get up tomorrow.
I don't know when I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was already bright outside. I didn't know where Xie Yuancheng was. I searched for a long time but couldn't find a trace of him. Could he have really been angry and gone out?
But I feel wronged too. He can't just think of himself and ignore me.
Thinking that he had been helping the shopkeeper ever since he recovered from his injury, my heart softened. I told him to let him do whatever he was doing and I wouldn't stop him from doing it again.
I waited until dark but he didn't come back. "Where did that bastard go?"
"Of course, I'll stay in the lab!"
He appeared as soon as I turned around. "Nonsense, I didn't see you in the lab."
"Because I closed the curtain, and I'll be going back soon. I need to get all those things that didn't yield results sorted out, because I won't be able to experiment when I get back."
"You're so busy, hurry up and cook."
"Ying'er~" Xie Yuancheng threw his white coat aside: "I've been busy all day, and you still want me to cook."
"Then I'll go?"
"It would be even more impossible for you to go. The shopkeeper is going to chat with those aliens today, so there's nothing for us to do. I'll take you out for a walk instead."
Having not been out for a long time, I hurriedly went back to change my clothes and came down.
However, the area outside is not as bustling as it used to be; there are very few people, and the large pit outside has not been repaired.
When we arrived at the shopping center, it was crowded but also quiet. We grabbed a quick bite to eat, but Xie Yuancheng, who is very picky about food, refused to eat anything that wasn't fresh.
"No wonder you're so thin."
"But if the food is bad, it's better not to eat it at all."
Seeing that he was still trying to argue, I bought him some bread, but he ate a few bites and then threw it away.
"Xie Yuancheng, don't go too far. You only ate a few bites for dinner, and you only ate a few bites again just now."
He looked aggrieved: "But it really doesn't taste good. I'll cook for Ying'er when we get back."
"Didn't you say you were very tired and still had to cook? You'll go hungry tonight, I won't give you anything to eat."
I touched his hands; they were mostly bone. Leaning against him felt like leaning against a rock. We went into a coffee shop and I ordered him a coffee. He drank several sips, which put my mind at ease.
The coffee in this cafe smelled wonderful, and since I was tired from walking, I rested inside.
The people next to me were talking. They said that the gaming community had been acting strangely these past two days, with many accounts that they had never heard of before suddenly ranking at the top.
What's even stranger is that these accounts weren't created to make money; they were usually deleted after a few hours of use.
I guess the shopkeeper is fighting those aliens in a game, which is completely different from what's shown in the movies. In those movies, it's all about the end of the world and spaceships and new aircraft, all flying in the sky.
Aliens are all the same; they all come to seize resources.
"Ying'er, come here quickly." Xie Yuancheng pulled my hand, and I sat down with him. He pointed to a few strangely dressed people outside and secretly recorded them on his phone.
"Who are they?"
"It's either a robbery or aliens."
I took a sip of Xie Yuancheng's coffee; it was delicious. Just then, they walked by, and I caught a glimpse of the fiber optic cables they were carrying.
Then we took the escalator up, and Xie Yuancheng pulled me along and we walked out quickly.
When we left the shopping center, he led me back along a side path. Just as we entered the residential area, we saw that the shopping center had caught fire at noon.
"Did they do it?"
"It's very likely that we should go back first."
I'm still thinking about that coffee. I hope the coffee shop doesn't close down so I can go back and buy another cup in a few days.
As soon as Xie Yuancheng entered the room, he started analyzing at the workbench. These people were too strange; they were neither aliens nor normal people. Where did they come from?
I leaned against his back and peeked at him several times, but the more I looked, the sleepier I got. I figured it was just some prank played by people who weren't doing well, so I just left him and went to take a bath.
I almost fell asleep in the bathtub, but Xie Yuancheng carried me out. When I saw him, I closed my eyes to rest.
