"No, if Daddy doesn't sleep well, you won't have any good toys~" I can't let the little ones disturb him, Xie Yuancheng hasn't been sleeping well lately.
"Okay, Mommy~" Yu'er pulled his younger brother and sister to stand properly. He really looked like a big brother now. I kissed their little faces and then went to call Xie Yuancheng to go back and rest.
After a period of peaceful life in the manor, Xie Yuancheng showed me the document sealing Linyang as an isolated city. I was overjoyed, but I knew it was time to leave the capital.
“Ying’er, you’ve already married me, but you still have to leave home. From now on, we’re one family. If your parents want to move to Linyang, I’ll come and pick them up myself.”
Besides, we come back at least twice a year, and I'll definitely take you back in a fast car, so don't worry.
"Mmm~ My sweet Yu'er~ He's so good, I really can't bear to part with him."
I watched as Yu'er led Su Ling and Xi Zhi to look at the fruit on the tree, introducing it to them and handing them cut fruit. The more I looked at it, the more reluctant I was to part with it.
"Your parents-in-law are here to take care of us. We still have three days, so we must get along well and you're not allowed to get angry."
"I didn't! You tricked me!" I propped myself up on my hands, watching Yu'er run around. "Let's take him out for a walk these next couple of days. My poor little darling~"
“I’ve already made arrangements. I’ll take him out for a walk every day. When we leave, you can’t cry. You still have two little ones to take care of.”
"I know~" I can't bear to part with any of the three children. I was very decisive at the time, but when it really came time to say goodbye, I just couldn't bear to part with them.
"Mother~" Yu'er saw me looking at him and ran into my arms. I picked him up and wouldn't leave.
Su Ling and Xi Zhi also ran over and called for their mother. I had forgotten that they were watching, so I just held Yu'er's armpits to show them.
"Haha~" Yu'er kicked her little legs in the air: "This is so much fun~"
Su Ling reached out her arms for me to hug her, as did Xi Zhi. I put Yu'er down first and hugged them one by one before they held hands and went to play.
Xie Yuancheng was laughing on the side. I turned around and kicked him before coming over: "Ying'er, let them have fun. We should go pack our things."
He practically dragged me back. I glanced back a few times and saw three little kids running around with a ball in their arms. It was so funny.
Later that night, after Su Ling and Xi Zhi fell asleep, I carried Yu'er, who was rubbing his eyes, back to bed. Yu'er looked up at me with a smile the whole way, his eyes sparkling.
"Daddy~" Sure enough, as soon as he saw Xie Yuancheng, he hugged his little pillow and went to bed to sleep with him.
"Yu'er, you have to go to sleep obediently, okay?" Xie Yuancheng, that scoundrel, actually didn't let Yu'er sleep in the middle, but covered him with a small blanket and let him sleep inside.
There was an extra pillow in the bed, and Yu'er, hugging his little rag doll, quickly fell asleep. I reached over to look, and Xie Yuancheng turned off the light.
"Yuancheng~ my Chengcheng, shall we go somewhere else?" I leaned against him and said, but Xie Yuancheng had actually fallen asleep. I was furious.
The father and son were always whispering to each other. Early in the morning, Xie Yuancheng took Yu'er out for a walk before returning. When we went out, Yu'er happily stretched out his little arms, almost bursting into laughter.
"Haha~ Daddy~" Yu'er leaned against Xie Yuancheng's chest, I couldn't wait to hug him.
"Ying'er, your back injury has just healed. I'll definitely give you a hug if we're at home. If you're outside, then let me do it for you."
"You're lying! I haven't hugged her at all since this morning!"
"It's not that I don't want you to hold him, Yu'er is heavier now, you have to be good. I didn't mean to stop you from holding our good son to sleep."
Xie Yuancheng spoke sincerely, so I stopped talking. Yu'er came over and smiled at me, sweetly calling me "Mommy." I was happy then and played with his chubby little hand.
Yu'er's little legs were kicking back and forth, and he looked so cute. Maybe he knew he was going to be separated from me, so everything about him seemed good to me.
This time we walked through a less bustling street, so there weren't many people. Yu'er happily looked around; he rarely goes out. When I was little, I also rarely left the mansion. The farthest I ever went was when I crawled into a cargo cart and went to war with my father.
With Xie Yuancheng leading the way, Yu'er looked around everywhere, pointing at the stalls from time to time. Xie Yuancheng didn't carry him to every single one; he would occasionally tell Yu'er what he could and couldn't do.
When Yu'er heard him speak, his face was full of anticipation, and he nodded from time to time. I could only hold his little hand and walk with him, listening to his occasional laughter.
"Woo woo~" A very soft sound, Yu'er turned her little head around to look.
I looked around, but I didn't see anyone crying anywhere. Xie Yuancheng held Yu'er in his arms, supporting his little head with his hand so he couldn't see outside.
"Ying'er, let's go to a nearby teahouse to rest." Xie Yuancheng said and walked forward, and I quickly followed.
Yu'er was restless in his arms, and her crying started again. There was the sound of children kicking shuttlecocks in front of them. Yu'er turned her head curiously to look, struggling in Xie Yuancheng's arms.
"My dear Yu'er, Daddy's taking you to a nice place. Let's not waste any more time, okay?"
I knew Yu'er could understand what I was saying, so I whispered in his ear. I saw him look up at me with his little face, so I kissed his cheek, and Yu'er chuckled.
He indeed stopped moving. Xie Yuancheng carried him and continued walking. As soon as we turned the corner, a woman dressed in plain clothes was kneeling in front of us with a small child, presumably her daughter.
"Master, Madam, my daughter and I are desperate and have nowhere to go. Please take us in. We can help you take care of your child and guard your house."
Her daughter cried along with her, saying, "My name is Xiaoyuan, I'm six years old, and I can take care of my little brother."
Yu'er is not her younger brother at all. They are really delusional. They just stopped us on the street and wanted to enter the Ji residence!
I heard Xiaoyuan's voice sound very similar to the crying I heard earlier. Just as I was about to say that they were doing it on purpose, Xie Yuancheng pulled me to the other side.
"Sister~" Yu'er called out. I touched his little face: "She's not your sister, she's a stranger. Yu'er, don't talk to strangers, and don't laugh~"
"You're quite good at raising your son. I've never seen Ying'er not smile at strangers."
Xie Yuancheng came again. Yu'er looked at us curiously as we talked. I followed Xie Yuancheng's words and said yes. Just as he was about to switch arms to hold her, the person called Xiaoyuan ran over.
"Madam, you are a kind person. My daughter and I have really suffered a lot. I am not lazy or greedy. A small bowl of rice is enough for me. My little brother is so cute. I will take good care of him as he grows up."
She tried to take my hand, but I quickly dodged her: "We don't know you or your daughter at all. If you want to work, many families will post notices outside."
Or, you could ask around on this street; there are bound to be people who need help. We have plenty of family members; we don't need any servants at all.
