Chapter 509 Born in March (Part Two)

"I've arranged for the people who came to sleep elsewhere this time, and I'll let Yu'er sleep in a room by himself. He's a prince, so he has that kind of privilege. If you want to abandon my bed, then go and sleep with Yu'er."

"Mmm!" I gave him a big kiss. "You're so good to me. Once we get Yu'er to his destination, I'll agree to whatever you say."

"Do you really all agree?"

Xie Yuancheng's bad side resurfaced, and I nodded very quickly. Thinking about it later, I realized I had trusted him too much. However, being able to take Yu'er to a place where a large group was gathering, and only leaving after his father came to pick him up, was already a very happy thing. Nothing else mattered.

As soon as the carriage caravan left Linyang, I saw so many flowers. It truly felt like springtime, with so many blooms. This road was repaired at the end of last year. We rarely go out; we stay at the mansion, so we didn't realize this road was so crowded.

"It's so beautiful. You must have worked so hard to make this place." I lowered the carriage curtain, and there were flowers all along the way. Even the kingfishers had flown out to play.

"Yes, I just wanted to go out for a walk with Ying'er, but you've been resting all the time. You're such a lazybones."

"Tell me, who caused this?" I pushed him. He didn't even consider who was preventing me from leaving the manor at this time. Although I was a bit of a troublemaker, I wouldn't have gone far.

"It's me." Xie Yuancheng leaned against my leg. I could smell the fragrance of flowers outside, real flowers, not artificial fragrances.

Both the older and younger children were sleeping. Thinking of them, I lit a heater so they wouldn't get cold. I leaned against the heater and read a book; I've been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance to really read.

I pointed to the scroll and specifically asked a kingfisher for help, finding it its favorite hibiscus flower so it could draw the blueprint. There were many footprints on it, but the path was clear; it truly felt like I was back in my leisurely old life.

In truth, this old emperor, as long as he didn't do anything else bad, was truly a wise ruler. His childhood experiences were indeed beyond the comprehension of ordinary people; after all, he was the most esteemed person in the Great Zhao Dynasty.

Yu'er seems to have forgotten the sadness of being separated. After waking up, he asked me to tell him about all sorts of flowers. He would point at the flowers he saw with his little finger and start laughing. His dimples really are just like Xie Yuancheng's. I held him on my lap and told him the stories I had heard. I almost fainted in the end, but thankfully Xie Yuancheng came to my rescue.

"Yu'er, come to Daddy, let's play checkers." He really is like that; whenever he speaks, Yu'er turns her head to look, and actually crawls over to play checkers with him.

I went over to take a look too. Yu'er's IQ was closest to Xie Yuancheng's. Every time, the father and son would laugh and accuse each other of being idiots.

“Xi Zhi and Su Ling are too young. It would be really interesting if the whole family could come out.”

"Ying'er will be running around everywhere then, your legs will be too sore to straighten, and you'll have to worry and feel sad for everyone~"

I just love to worry unnecessarily! Xie Yuancheng continued playing checkers, and I went over to mess with him. Yu'er laughed so hard he almost jumped up, but he couldn't just run around aimlessly in the Ji residence and Linyang. He could only laugh so hard he was practically drooling.

"I didn't do it on purpose. You said I could disrupt your plans anytime. If you get angry over something so small, I won't let you off the hook."

I met Xie Yuancheng's gaze; he was clearly angry just now, so I knew he had a temper too. Xie Yuancheng pulled me into his arms and asked me to calm him down.

"Mommy is a silly little thing~" Yu'er is such a fence-sitter, all he knows is to be on the same side as Xie Yuancheng. When Xie Yuancheng is not here, he is mine alone. When Xie Yuancheng comes, he will definitely side with Xie Yuancheng.

"Yuancheng~ Yu'er said I'm a little idiot~" I didn't argue with Yu'er, and went to look at Xie Yuancheng, my eyes almost squinting. Xie Yuancheng finally let me up, "You guys are the idiots!"

"Ying'er, how can you hold a grudge against your son? Yu'er is still young, you should give in to him." What kind of talk is this? It's clearly the father and son who are criticizing me!

"That's right, Mother should give in to her child, that will make her happy. When I grow up, I will be filial to Mother, and I will also learn many things from Father."

"Where did you learn that tone of voice from? Oh~ no doubt, it was someone next to you who taught you, right?"

"My child is the one who is most like his father. You can tell by reading the Analects. He doesn't need his father to teach him~" This little mouth of his is even better at talking than I am. I went over and sat with Yu'er, leaving Xie Yuancheng alone.

"Ying'er, you're not by my side anymore, and I feel so empty inside. How can I possibly enjoy playing checkers with Yu'er?"

I wasn't going, but under pressure from Xie Yuancheng, I went anyway. "Yu'er, play your chess well and beat your father."

"Yes~" Yu'er answered loudly, but after thinking it over, he started to pretend to cry, "Mother, you're mean, you and Father are bullying me, boohoo~"

"Look, Yu'er has even learned your moves. When we get back to the capital, my in-laws will definitely scold me." Xie Yuancheng added fuel to the fire. Looking at the two of them, I really wanted to beat them up.

"The board isn't good, let's start over!" This kind of game of chess isn't fun at all. Letting Xie Yuancheng teach Yu'er to play Go seems like a good idea, it's just a bit too early.

"Don't worry, when you see Yu'er again, he'll be able to play chess with you. Last time you played chess haphazardly, I almost had to cover for you. From now on, Yu'er will play with you."

"Isn't it a bit too early? It's not too late to start at five." I still feel sorry for my son. He's too young. It must be very tiring for his little brain to learn so many things.

"Yu'er, tell your mother if you want to learn it." She always sends her son to tell you. I saw Yu'er nod happily. "Don't worry, he has his playtime too. Yu'er needs to set a good example from a young age so that the children below will follow his example."

"It's true that there are no problems, but my little darling has so many things to learn, it's really too hard for her."

“When I was little, I had to study too. Grandpa said I was a little lazy. But you're the only precious one in the family, so everyone spoils you. Yu’er has to study hard and help me learn what I haven’t learned yet.”

My face turned red from those words, and I could clearly hear Xie Yuancheng laughing; he even tried to pull the carriage curtain to cover me. Yu'er was still talking when I touched a toy, and a wooden airplane that could fly came out. It was made of wood, but it could actually fly.

"Mommy~ Yu'er loves you so much!" The little guy smiled and took the toy I gave him to play with, completely forgetting his earlier boastful words.

“Ying’er, you’re really good at teaching him. If Yu’er turns into a naughty person in the future, you’ll be responsible.”

"It's okay to let him play occasionally. We shouldn't be too strict with him. Besides, I just want Yu'er to relax his little mind, not to let him play everywhere."

"We can't let this happen again. Let's let it go since it's Ying'er's first offense. We'll make room for Yu'er in a carriage and have the nannies look after him so he can go out riding and enjoying the flowers."
