Chapter 52 will only be a burden to Miss Lin.

Lin then rummaged around in the tree canopy and roots, finding a palm-sized green core. This was the core of the mutated Thunderwood Fruit Tree, which was said to be worth money.

The core was green and looked no different from a crystal core, like a piece of transparent glass containing green liquid. However, Lin still tried to absorb it but found that he could not. It seemed that this thing had nothing to do with the crystal core, so he gave up.

After putting the collected items into her spatial storage, Lin Yiran began walking towards the area with the pine and camphor trees.

Unexpectedly, a mutated wild boar with tusks charged from the side, moving as fast as the wind!

When Lin Yiran turned her head, she saw the mutated wild boar leaping high into the air with a body as large as an elephant. Each of its long tusks could block out the distant sun, completely obscuring it.

"Miss Lin!"

Unable to dodge in time, Lin Yiran simply bent down and slid down, intending to pass under the mutated wild boar's belly. Since the mutated wild boar could jump over four meters high, Lin Yiran was confident she could pass under it. Unexpectedly, the mutated wild boar suddenly changed its mind as it leaped, switching from a fleeing posture to an attacking one, and with a light flick of its hind legs, it seemed intent on piercing Lin Yiran's stomach to pieces!

Lin Yiran could still endure it? He simply stood still, using himself as a target, and then used his supernatural ability to manipulate the hunting knife. Just as the wild boar pounced, he suddenly turned his body to the left!

He then turned around, gripped his katana, and leaped high to the side, bringing his hunting knife down fiercely towards the wild boar's head.

With a "whoosh," blood gushed out, and Lin Yiran quickly took a big step back to avoid the splattered blood.

Something 'gurgled' down and rolled into the grass beside it. When the wild boar's huge body fell to the ground, the surrounding earth trembled three times.

Lin Yiran took out a tattered piece of burlap and carefully wiped the blood from the blade. Then she heard a surprised voice beside her: "Miss Lin, it really is you!"

It was Xiaoman and Wu Yongde.

"Ahhh! Sister Yiran, you're amazing again!" Xiaoman screamed and pounced on Lin Yiran, clinging to her body. Lin Yiran was startled and quickly pushed Xiaoman away, as she wasn't used to being so close to people.

Xiaoman didn't care, but instead described Lin Yiran's performance with sparkling eyes: "Wow, that was so cool! She killed a level 3 mutated wild boar with one slash! Ahh! I never even dared to dream of such a thing. The scene, the pose, it was just so incredibly cool! Sister Yiran, how did you do that? It was absolutely awesome! Ahh!! Sister Yiran, you're my idol!"

She was jumping around on the spot, probably wanting to jump up the tree. Luckily, Lin Yiran held her shoulder down, preventing her from getting too excited.

Then Wu Yongde stepped forward and said, "Miss Lin's knife skills have improved again."

Lin Yiran nodded. "What a coincidence."

Wu Yongde: "It's not too much of a coincidence. We met you at the service center. I didn't expect Miss Lin to have become a mercenary and even taken on an S-level mission. That's really impressive. I just don't know if Miss Lin has a mercenary team that suits her. If not, I can introduce you to a level 3 mercenary team. The people there are quite nice and friendly."

Lin Yiran smiled and said, "I thought you would persuade me to join your team." She really thought so, after all, her combat strength was very high, and they knew that the food she made could replenish mental energy.

Xiaoman's expression was very expressive: "That's right! That's right! Big brother, why don't you let Miss Lin join our team? She's so amazing! She should be joined our team!"

The others in the group chimed in, "That's right, bro, you just don't get it!"

Wu Yongde looked at his younger sister and sighed helplessly: "Stop joking around. Miss Lin's martial arts skills are so high, it's such a pity she joined our team. If I hadn't seen Miss Lin's swordsmanship just now, I would have really wanted to ask her if she would like to join our team. But after seeing Miss Lin's swordsmanship, I know..."

"Our team is too weak; we'll only drag Miss Lin down." Upon hearing this, the group of brothers behind him were speechless. It was the truth; they knew their own limitations. They would indeed hold Lin Yiran back.

Then Wu Yongde continued, "With Miss Lin's unique abilities and such formidable fighting skills, she's more than qualified to join a level three mercenary group."

“However,” he said regretfully, “if Miss Lin had mental power, she could also get into the top three mercenary groups in the interstellar space.”

"However, they have strict requirements: they don't accept mental strength warriors below level A. So if Miss Lin wants to join a team in the future, she can try a level three mercenary team."

Lin Yiran declined his offer: "Not for now. I don't plan to join the team yet. I'll try it out on my own first and then make a decision after I figure out how it works."

She didn't plan to be a mercenary for life; it was better to focus on running her shop. She could earn money and get crystal cores—why not? Mercenary work was just something she could do occasionally when she needed money.

Life is all about doing whatever you want.

"Oh, by the way, where are you headed? If it's on the way, we can go together. I'm heading northeast towards the Forest of Hope, where I can find the pine and camphor trees I need," Lin Yiran pointed northeast.

Wu Yongde: "We're going to the east side of the Forest of Hope. It's a pity, it's probably not on the same route as Miss Lin..."

"However, oh, by the way, there's something I want to tell you." Wu Yongde's face suddenly turned serious, hesitating whether he should say it or not.

Finally, she spoke up: "Just now, after you left, we saw members of the Cheetah Mercenary Group in the mission reception hall..."

Lin Yiran: "What's wrong? I don't think I know anyone from the Cheetah Corps."

Wu Yongde: "No, I mean, right after you left, the Cheetah Legion went there to take over the S-level mission you had, but they didn't expect you to have already accepted it. Then I saw that they were furious and didn't take on any other missions. After gathering all their brothers, they went into the Forest of Hope. So, I'm afraid... they're trying to force you to give up this mission voluntarily."

Lin Yiran's eyes suddenly sharpened.

If what he said was true, then wouldn't someone be trying to steal her mission? She knew that there was an unwritten rule in the mercenary world that whoever accepted the mission was responsible for it, and from the moment they accepted the mission, it was bound to their identity information.

There are only two situations in which a mission can be transferred: one, the mercenary associated with the assigned identity dies; two, the mercenary associated with the assigned identity voluntarily abandons the mission and transfers it to the others in the lobby after they have completed their missions.

I just don't know what method they will use.
