Chapter 67 Brother Jin Yuan's Reminder

The ninth galaxy, inside the main residence of the Jin family.

The Jin family's main residence is located on Mount Akina, the most famous mountain in the Ninth Star System. From here, one can overlook the entire wealthy district's cityscape at night, which is magnificent and dazzling with neon lights.

After Jin Shuo got off the flying car, carrying the packed food, he whistled and sang all the way into the main house, only to find his dear brother coming down the spiral staircase.

"Brother? What are you doing here?" To be honest, they rarely saw each other after his brother joined the military. They only saw each other once or twice a year, and each time they didn't stay for long. It was considered good if they could stay for two days at a time.

Jin Shuo's older brother, Jin Yuan, graduated from the First Military Academy and joined the military. He climbed the ranks to become a personal guard to the commander, and it's said he's now been promoted to a squad leader, getting even closer to the commander. Although he's just a small squad leader, nothing compared to the commander's bodyguard, it's still a source of pride for their family. At every gathering, he hears his father boasting about his brother, his tone brimming with pride!

To be honest, it made him a little jealous.

"No, why did you come back when you weren't protecting the commander's safety on the capital planet? Did the commander give you a leave of absence?" he asked, puzzled, only to receive a cold glare from his brother.

Having been beaten since childhood, Jin Shuo instantly understood the meaning in that look and quickly changed his words, saying, "No, I, I didn't mean to look down on you. I was just curious, just curious, haha." He even gave an embarrassed laugh to cover up his embarrassment.

Jin Yuan: "I'm going to Tianhai Star. This time I'm just passing through the Ninth Star System to rest temporarily." As he spoke, he walked to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator door, and started looking for food.

It's late now, and the servants have either gone to bed or gone home. There's only a little fruit left in this huge refrigerator; fresh ingredients won't be airlifted over until tomorrow morning.

Unable to find food, Jin Yuan was already in a bad mood, and to make matters worse, his brother kept asking, "Wait, isn't your duty to protect the commander's safety? What kind of task requires a personal guard like you to do? Or is this a mission assigned to you by the commander? Or is the commander on that Tianhai Star? By the way, what's he doing there? It's such a remote place that even the Zerg wouldn't go."

Wow, that's the truth.

Jin Yuan was speechless for a moment. He turned around and was about to scold his brother for his loose tongue when he saw his brother sitting at the kitchen table eating something. The food smelled delicious.

This made me even angrier.

"What are you eating?" Then she walked over to Jin Shuo and glanced at the contents of his bowl. What kind of garbage was this? She immediately scolded, "You dare to eat this stuff from outside? Aren't you afraid the violent energy inside will rupture your consciousness?"

Jin Shuo didn't seem to care. He mumbled through a skewer of lamb, "Oh, it's fine. It's just an occasional treat. It won't cause any problems. But this stuff is really delicious. Do you want to try some, bro?"

After saying that, he shoved a skewer of grilled meat in front of his brother.

Seeing his brother frowning as he picked up the unappetizing skewers, Jin Shuo chuckled: "You should try it. My friend made it. It's really delicious, even better than our family's chef. And after I ate it last time, I checked the rage energy in my mental sea, and it didn't increase at all. Anyway, I had no problems eating it."

Jin Yuan, disbelieving, put a skewer in his mouth and took a bite, then paused, beginning to chew slowly and carefully.

Jin Shuo: "How is it? Delicious, right? Let me tell you, my friend is absolutely amazing. You can't find another cook like her even in the capital city. I offered her a salary of several million star coins a month to be our chef, but she didn't want to. She spends all day running her little shabby shop, earning a pittance. I don't think it's worth it, but she's very happy."

"Sigh, I don't know what I'm after!" He sighed and shook his head.

Jin Yuan, who was eating, seemed to be deep in thought. Then, without asking, he took a pair of chopsticks and ate a bite of Jin Shuo's spicy hot pot. Jin Shuo felt sorry for him and looked at him like he was an enemy, but Jin Yuan ignored him.

After taking a bite, Jin Yuan could taste the uniqueness of this food.

So he asked, "How much is one serving of this food?"

Jin Shuo: "Why are you asking this?" But he still answered honestly: "A bowl of spicy hot pot costs thirty star coins, and a skewer of meat costs one star coin. As for this plate of stir-fried vegetables, it's free."

Jin Yuan seemed to be deep in thought after hearing this.

But seeing his silly younger brother still looking so clueless made me feel bad. I wanted to say something to remind him, but I also wanted him to figure it out himself. Oh well, I guess I'll just let him figure it out on his own.

And who would sell food without rage energy at such a low price?

The answer is: people who are not short of money or people with status and background.

Keep in mind that this one serving of stir-fried vegetables could sell for at least 20,000 star coins in the first interstellar region, and that's based on a low price.

At an even higher price, someone would eat a serving for 50,000 star coins.

Perhaps, as Jin Shuo said, he's just happy to earn a pittance? He's not even after all trying to make money? What a genius!

Then Jin Yuan sat opposite Jin Shuo and, ignoring his objections, ate most of his food. The two were fighting over the food, but Jin Shuo simply couldn't out-eat him. It had been like this since they were little, so he could only sit helplessly at the table, grumbling and cursing, but he didn't dare to speak loudly.

After he finished eating, he went upstairs to change into his military uniform, leaving Jin Shuo alone at the table, cursing and angrily poking at the bowl of spicy hot pot that was now just broth.

"He didn't even leave me any! This is what I bought! What kind of person is he?!" Then he saw his older brother come down in military uniform, and the sight of him coming down was dazzling.

It has to be said that the guards' uniforms are much better looking than the mercenaries' clothes. Although the materials are the same, those uniforms immediately make them look more sophisticated and imposing, exuding an invisible pressure. There's a clear difference; compared to them, he looks so low-class.

Jin Shuo didn't speak to his brother because he was still angry.

However, seeing his younger brother's childish appearance, Jin Yuan couldn't help but remind him, "The mercenary team competition is coming soon. You need to pay more attention. You're all grown up now. You can't always let Dad do everything by himself. Help out whenever you have time and go to the training field to take a look."

Jin Shuo hummed in agreement.

Seeing this, Jin Yuan left, but then remembered something and turned back, saying, "Your friend's cooking is pretty good. Next time you go on a mission, you can ask him to make more food for you to take on the road. With today's advanced preservation technology, food won't spoil for ten days or half a month. You can also just ask your friend to order team meals; it'll be a treat for us brothers."
