Chapter 124 Naming

Tang's mother sighed:

"When these two children were born, your father didn't want to name them. He could only give them humble names to make them easier to raise, hoping that their bodies would be as strong as tigers and their lives as vibrant as tender buds."

This is the origin of the nicknames Tiger Head and Ya Ya.

In the Great Zhou Dynasty, a child's name was usually decided by a male elder or the head of the family, which is why the two children had always been called by their childhood nicknames.

Originally, Tang's mother wanted to take advantage of this birthday to have Tang Jian officially name the two children and introduce them to everyone!

Tang Jian paused upon hearing this. His father only cared about his elder brother's family; how could he possibly care about them?

But that's fine, he should be the one to name his child! Old Man Tang doesn't deserve it!

He will give them the best!

"Don't worry, Mother, I'll make sure and tell you tomorrow morning!"

As soon as they finished dinner, Tang Jian couldn't wait to go to the study and carry a pile of books back to their small study in the courtyard.

Watching Tang Jian compare the birth dates and times of the two children, constantly flipping through those books, he appeared to be burning the midnight oil.

Lin Zao found it amusing but didn't bother him.

Looking at the serious and earnest man under the lamplight, a warm and content feeling emanated from her.

Lin Zao thought for a moment, then went back to her room and took out needles, thread and silk. She had never had the chance to make the sachet she had promised him.

I'll finish this now so he won't keep worrying about it!

I wonder when the incense she asked the housekeeper to make will be ready?

Lin Zao summoned a maid who was skilled in needlework. Under the maid's guidance, it took her quite a while to thread the needle and then cut the silk into the shape needed for the sachet.

Lin Zao specially chose a sky-blue color for the silk, which features a natural bamboo pattern.

In this way, making it into a sachet won't look too monotonous.

All Lin Zao had to do was sew it up. She tried sewing a few stitches and found it quite easy.

It took her quite a while to finish.

Seeing that the sachet looked rather simple, Lin Zao frowned and thought for a moment before going to the storeroom to find a jade pendant with a tassel and attaching it to the sachet.

Once finished, the overall look has a luxurious yet elegant feel.

Looking up, Lin Zao saw that the light in the small study was still on, so she put the sachet in the dressing table and went to wash up first.

After wringing out her washed hair, Lin Zao returned to her room with her hair loose. There she saw Tang Jian sitting at her dressing table, playing with the sachet she had just made.

What are you doing, taking my things!

Lin Zao pretended to be angry. She was still waiting for the housekeeper to send over the finished top-quality agarwood so she could give it to him together!

I didn't expect him to have such sharp eyes; he noticed it so quickly!

"Isn't this something my wife prepared to give to me?"

Tang Jian looked at Lin Zao with a smile, but his hands moved to put the sachet into his pocket!

It seems he's already decided on the names for the two children, otherwise he wouldn't be teasing her so casually.

Lin Zao rolled her eyes, walked to the dressing table, and pulled him away:

"Move aside! Don't get in my way while I'm wiping my face."

Tang Jian turned around and hugged Lin Zao from behind. Looking at the young couple in the mirror, one was tall and heroic, and the other was petite and charming.

"My wife and I are truly a match made in heaven!"

Lin Zao continued with her skincare routine, asking as she did so:

What names did you give Tiger Head and Ya Ya?

With a hint of smugness on his face, Tang Jian took out two pieces of paper from his pocket, on which were written the names of his two children.

"Tang Jingchen" and "Tang Jianing"
