They looked up, stunned, at Hu Tou and Ya Ya, the eggs still in their mouths.
Ya Ya urged, "Brothers, eat quickly! We still have porridge, we're not hungry."
Tiger Head: "Eat up, you won't be hungry anymore once you're full!"
The two children stared blankly as they continued eating, but much slower than before. Lin Zao noticed tears falling into their bowls.
Breakfast ended with the two children eating three large bowls of lean meat porridge and four eggs.
The carriage slowly began to move towards Yaozhou, with Hutou and Yaya talking to the two children inside.
They talked about how their older brother Xiaobao was, what delicious food their mother made, what their teacher taught them, and how there were two little wolves in the family—and many, many other things.
The two of them also took out all their toys to show them and taught them how to play with them, chattering away the whole way.
Fortunately, the two children gradually started to respond. When Hu Tou and Ya Ya talked about something interesting, they would listen attentively, and sometimes they would unconsciously widen their eyes in surprise.
Seeing the colorful toys, the two looked at them with wide eyes, as if they had seen something amazing, wanting to play but not daring to move.
It wasn't until Tiger Head took their hands and taught them how to play that the two slowly reached out and cautiously touched the strangely shaped, brightly colored toys.
Tiger Head taught them how to build with blocks. He first taught them how to build a house, and then how to build a carriage and all sorts of strange things.
Ya Ya even shared her lollipops, opening them and stuffing them into their mouths.
"This is a lollipop. You can hold it in your hand and eat it slowly in your mouth. Don't chew it. It's very, very sweet!"
The two of them, with lollipops in their mouths, stared wide-eyed.
Is this candy?
It's so sweet! They've never eaten anything this sweet before. It's just as delicious as the meat porridge they had this morning!
Seeing their surprised expressions, Ya Ya asked them expectantly, "How is it? Is it sweet?"
The two stared blankly at Ya Ya, wanting to open their mouths, but then realized they had candy in their mouths and quickly covered their mouths with their hands, afraid that the delicious candy would fall out.
"Mmm..."
"Quickly tell me if it's sweet or not?" Ya Ya asked anxiously.
Lin Zao and Tang Jian sat silently to the side, just watching them.
As if sensing Ya Ya's urgency, one of the children, holding a lollipop in his hand, mumbled, "Sweet."
Tiger Head's eyes widened; he actually spoke!
Why did he talk to them so much and teach them how to play with toys, but they didn't talk to him? They talked to his sister instead!
Tiger Head was somewhat disappointed.
As if sensing Tiger Head's emotions, the other child, who hadn't spoken, actually reached out and took Tiger Head's hand, seemingly anxious to speak, but with something in his mouth.
Seeing this, Tiger Head reached out and pulled the lollipop out of his mouth, looking at him with bright eyes, "What do you want to say?"
The child froze, his eyes involuntarily drawn to the lollipop in Tiger Head's hand, his mouth moved, and he unconsciously uttered "candy."
Tiger Head was stunned!
So he's not even as good as candy?
Seeing this, Lin Zao couldn't help but tremble a little and almost burst out laughing. She turned her body with difficulty to face Tang Jian and leaned on his shoulder to chuckle.
Tang Jian smiled and reached out to hug Lin Zao, patting her head.
