The group drove the carriage directly to a house called Tingfeng Courtyard.
This house was Zheng Ziwen's private residence in Yaozhou. Knowing that Tang Jian and his group were coming, he directly invited them to stay here.
The door was tightly closed, so Tian Bu'er went straight up and knocked.
After a long while, the door was opened a crack, and Tian Bu'er showed Tang Jian's name and seal to the people inside. The people inside quickly opened the door completely.
An old servant in gray came over and bowed to Tang Jian. "Greetings, General. Young Master Zheng has sent word that you will be arriving in Yaozhou soon. I have already cleaned the room and am waiting for your arrival."
Tang Jian sat in the carriage, holding the sleeping Ya Ya in his arms, and said, "Let's go in first."
The old servant quickly stepped forward to lead the way, removing the high threshold to make it easier for the carriage to pass. Tian Bu'er then led the carriage inside.
Lin Zao was also holding the sleeping tiger head in her arms, while Chen Wen and Ma Qingping, who were a little older, lay down on the couch inside the car and fell asleep.
The adults and children were all exhausted from the journey, and Lin Zao herself was almost asleep from exhaustion.
As soon as Lin Zao and the others entered the house, they were led to the main courtyard by an old servant. Lin Zao and Tang Jian carried the children directly into the room and placed them on the bed one by one.
Lin Zao quickly washed up and went to bed, planning to talk about it after she woke up.
As for Tang Jian, no one knew what he was up to, and Lin Zao didn't care.
Lin Zao felt like she hadn't slept for long before Tang Jian woke her up for dinner, and she was still feeling groggy.
They arrived in the evening, but now it's already dark.
Tang Jian woke up the children in bed one by one: "Get up and eat dinner before you go back to sleep."
Chen Wen and Ma Qingping got up obediently, but Hu Tou and Ya Ya were not so happy. They struggled on the bed for a long time and were unwilling to get up, so Tang Jian picked them up.
Seeing the two children clinging to Tang Jian's shoulder, their eyes half-closed, Lin Zao, now fully awake, reached out and took Chen Wen and Ma Qingping's hands, following behind Tang Jian towards the main hall.
Dinner was light and simple, which was perfect for people like them who had just gone on a long journey and didn't have much of an appetite.
After dinner, Lin Zao took Ya Ya, while Tang Jian took the three little boys, and they went to wash up separately.
Everything on the carriage had been unloaded, and the frequently used items had been sorted and put away. The toiletries in the clean room were also the ones Lin Zao was used to, so she didn't find them strange.
At night, Ya Ya slept with Lin Zao and his wife, while Hu Tou slept with his two new older brothers. The children all seemed to be adapting well to the new place.
Lin Zao lay on the bed gently patting her daughter. Ya Ya was already asleep, and Lin Zao was also very sleepy at the moment.
The door creaked open softly, and Lin Zao woke up with a start.
Tang Jian came in.
Are all three of them asleep?
"Yes, they're all asleep. Madam, you can sleep peacefully."
Tang Jian gently comforted Lin Zao, knowing that Lin Zao was worried about Hu Tou and the others, but that kid was carefree and fell asleep soon after getting into bed.
As for Chen Wen and Ma Qingping, perhaps because they were familiar with Hu Tou, they did not show any fear or helplessness. Tang Jian stayed with them for a while, and then they both fell asleep.
Tian Bu'er slept next to the three children that night to keep him alert, and then Tang Jian went back to his room.
Tang Jian only needed to take off his clothes for a moment before he saw his wife and daughter sleeping peacefully.
He chuckled softly, waved to extinguish the candles, gently got into bed, reached out and hugged them, sighed contentedly, and closed his eyes to sleep.
