Chapter 262 Horseshoes

Watching Tang Jian ride his horse around the field with his daughter, and hearing her daughter's happy laughter, Lin Zao's lips unconsciously curled up.

Tian Bu'er, standing nearby, exclaimed, "Great! The general has acquired another fine horse! It's just a bit of a pity about the previous Jueying."

Lin Zao looked at Tian Bu'er with a puzzled expression, "Jueying?"

Seeing Lin Zao suddenly ask a question, Tian Bu'er then explained:

"Jueying was a horse that the prince had bestowed upon the general. It was a fine horse with a noble bloodline and had always accompanied the general on his campaigns. Because of its speed, the general named it Jueying."

"It's a pity that even the best horse will wear down and even crack and deform its hooves after running on the battlefield for too long."

Tian Bu'er sighed with some heartache:

"Once again, Jueying accompanied the general on a night raid. While running, his foot stepped on a sharp stone and was split open. From that moment on, Jueying never followed the general into battle again..."

Tian Bu'er could still vividly recall Jueying's handsome figure and the perfect understanding between it and the general. If only it hadn't been injured!

Ever since Jueying was injured, the general would spend some time talking to it every time he went to the military camp.

After hearing this, Lin Zao knew just how handsome the horse named Jueying was, but then asked, "Doesn't Jueying wear horseshoes?"

Horses should have horseshoes protecting their hooves, so this shouldn't happen.

"Horseshoes? What are horseshoes? Can horses wear these horseshoes on their feet?"

Tian Bu'er asked Lin Zao with some surprise, as he had never heard of this thing called a horseshoe.

"Huh? You didn't know?"

Lin Zao was also a little surprised. She thought about it carefully and realized that she had never paid attention to whether horses had horseshoes on their hooves, so she had never thought about this issue.

"This subordinate does not know, does not know what the madam is referring to as horseshoes?" Tian Bu'er intuitively felt that this thing had a protective function for the horses' feet and was very important to them.

Lin Zao recalled what she knew about horseshoes. "The horseshoe I'm talking about is a U-shaped iron piece made according to the shape of a horse's foot."

Lin Zao picked up a twig and drew a horseshoe on the ground.

"Simply put shoes on a horse. The benefit of horseshoes is that they protect the horse's feet, reduce wear and tear, and help maintain balance."

As Tian Bu'er looked at the horseshoe drawn on the ground, his surprise grew. He immediately recognized the value of the horseshoe.

However, "how exactly are these horseshoes attached to the horse's hooves?"

"What horseshoes? What are you talking about?"

Before Lin Zao could answer Tian Bu'er's question, she heard Tang Jian's cold voice.

Lin Zao looked up and saw Tang Jian riding a horse in front of them, looking down at them from a high position.

Tian Bu'er then shifted his attention from the horseshoe on the ground and looked up to find his general staring at him with an icy aura.

Startled, he quickly stood up, only then realizing that he had been so engrossed in looking at the horseshoes that he hadn't noticed he was very close to the general's wife.

With a "thump," Tian Bu'er suddenly knelt on the ground.

"General, please forgive me! I was so engrossed in looking at the horseshoes that I lost my composure for a moment."

Lin Zao then realized that Tang Jian had misunderstood and was jealous.

She looked at Tang Jian with a slightly exasperated expression and beckoned him to come down.

Seeing Lin Zao's stern face, Tang Jian was afraid she would be angry, so he jumped off his horse with Ya Ya in his arms.

He walked up to her in a few steps. He glanced at the ground and noticed that the drawing on it was a bit strange. He figured it must be the horseshoe that Tian Bu'er had mentioned earlier.

Tang Jian said to Tian Bu'er, "Get up, and remember to be careful in the future!"

He wasn't misunderstanding anything; he was just a little jealous seeing Tian Bu'er standing so close. He knew Tian Bu'er wouldn't do anything disrespectful.

"General, the lady says that these horseshoes can protect the horse's hooves!"

Before Tian Bu'er even got up, he excitedly pointed to the diagram on the ground and said to Tang Jian.

Tang Jian's eyes narrowed as he stared intently at the pattern on the ground.

He immediately saw the key point and looked up, staring intently into Lin Zao's eyes.

"Is he telling the truth?!?"
