Tang Jian asked Eleven to take Aunt Du away, while he took Lin Zao.
Eleven was moving very fast. Before Du Zhen could react, Eleven was carrying her at breakneck speed, and the wind blowing in her face made it impossible for her to open her eyes.
I could only close my eyes and hear the buzzing of the wind.
Lin Zao and Tang Jian, who were in the courtyard, exchanged a glance after Eleven took the person away and disappeared, and then sneaked towards the jujube orchard.
When I came to see it yesterday, the jujube orchard was full of dead branches and withered grass, and I couldn't see any trees at all.
After Lin Zao regained her memory, she left without looking at anything closely.
The two are now standing in the jujube orchard. Lin Zao, based on her memory of the jujube tree, gestures to Tang Jian.
Tang Jian leaped and landed next to the withered tree.
That tree is now as thick as Lin Zao's arm. When it was planted, it was only as thick as her little finger. It has grown this thick in the past ten years.
Lin Zao thought about it carefully and, seeing that there was no mistake, nodded to Tang Jian.
Tang Jian squatted down, pulled out a dagger from his waist, and began digging.
Fortunately, Tang Jian was strong, and the soil in the yard wasn't very compact, so he quickly dug to the base of the jujube tree.
He gripped the jujube tree trunk with both hands, pulled hard upwards, and pulled the tree out. Then he dug around with a dagger for a while and found the object.
After tucking the jade pendant into his pocket, Tang Jian quickly replanted the jujube tree, carefully restored it to its original state, and then erased his own traces.
With a light leap, Tang Jian returned to Lin Zao's side. Then, the two restored the traces of their previous encounter and disappeared into the darkness with a few more jumps.
The jujube orchard, bathed in moonlight, seemed as if no one had ever been there.
When the couple arrived home, Shiyi and Aunt Du had just arrived as well.
Knowing that the couple was up to something, Eleven deliberately led Aunt Du on a roundabout route so that she wouldn't suspect anything.
It was already the hour of Chou (1-3 AM) of the next day.
He Lin and He Qiu must have been asleep long ago, so Lin Zao sent the maid on night watch to call them.
Aunt Du was somewhat uneasy in the main hall.
After a while, the maid brought the person over.
Seeing her niece being led by the maid and her nephew standing to the side, Du Zhen burst into tears.
"It really is you all, Auntie is so sorry... Waaah."
He Qiu wasn't too bothered, after all, she was still too young, her memories of her parents weren't very deep, and she didn't know how to hate someone.
He Lin's face turned cold, and he said in a cold voice, "Why did you come here? My sister and I don't want to see you. Get out!"
Du Zhen looked at them with tears in her eyes: "I know, Auntie just wanted to see if you were doing well..."
“My sister and I would be fine without you. Stop pretending…” He Lin said with resentment, remembering the tragic deaths of his parents and grandparents.
He will never forget the time he and his sister returned home to find the house covered in blood and their family members lying on the floor, lifeless.
He will never forgive her!
Du Zhen cried and apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry... Can I talk to you one more time? This is the last time, and from now on... Auntie will never bother you again..."
Seemingly understanding the implication in Du Zhen's words, He Lin looked at her stubbornly but did not refuse.
Upon seeing this, Lin Zao and Tang Jian signaled to Eleven and the maids in the room to leave together.
"We'll head out now. Just have someone call us over when you've finished talking."
Lin Zao and Tang Jian went to the kitchen to make some late-night snacks. Not long after they finished eating, a maid came to call them.
When the couple returned to the main hall, He Lin and his sister were no longer there; they had obviously gone back to sleep.
Du Zhen looked much better at this point, except that her eyes were still noticeably red and swollen, and her mood had returned to normal.
Lin Zao and his wife exchanged a glance, knowing that Du Zhen had called them to tell them the location of the treasure map.
They all looked intently at Du Zhen.
