Tang's mother was the same. Seeing that the two children had returned safely, she quickly checked them over. Seeing that the twins hadn't lost weight and were all happy, she finally felt relieved.
"I've missed you two so much, Grandma!"
As she spoke, Tang's mother hugged her two children tightly with tears in her eyes, and they became affectionate.
When Hu Tou and Ya Ya saw that their grandmother was crying, they hurriedly helped Tang's mother wipe away her tears.
"Grandma, don't be sad. Be happy, and let Yaya's brother be happy too!"
"Oh, right, Grandmother, we have two older brothers! They are adopted sons of Father and Mother! Just like Uncle Han!"
Tiger Head thought of his two sworn brothers, quickly broke free from Tang's mother's embrace, ran to Chen Wen and Ma Qingping who were standing somewhat reserved to the side, and took one of them by the hand to introduce them to his grandmother.
Upon hearing Hu Tou's words, Tang Jian stopped crying and immediately turned his attention to Chen Wen and Ma Qingping.
She wasn't worried at all, and she trusted her son and daughter-in-law. Since they approved, it meant that both children were of good character.
Tang's mother carefully examined the two men and saw that although they were thin, their eyes were clear and honest.
She glanced at Lin Zao, who smiled and nodded.
Tang's mother then smiled and waved to Chen Wen and Ma Qingping.
"Come here and let me see you. I am your grandmother."
Chen Wen and Ma Qingping were relieved to see that the old lady in front of them did not show any displeasure on her face, but instead had a kind and amiable look.
Although they have gained the approval of their adoptive parents and younger siblings, they have also heard from their younger siblings that there is a grandmother in the family.
On their way back, they worried about what would happen if their grandmother didn't like them.
Now that they have seen their grandmother, the two of them realize that their previous worries were unnecessary.
Chen Wen and Ma Qingping walked up to Tang's mother and knelt down respectfully.
"Grandchildren Chen Wen and Ma Qingping greet their grandmother."
With a smile, Tang's mother helped the two up. "You're both good children. Get up quickly. Grandmother didn't bring anything with her right now. I'll give you a gift when we go inside."
The two stood up as Tang's mother gestured, and said in unison, "Thank you, Grandmother."
Seeing that Chen Wen and Ma Qingping had bowed to Tang's mother, Lin Zao smiled and walked up to Tang's mother.
"Mother, we're back. We're sorry to have worried you all this time!"
Tang's mother chuckled and said, "My child, all I want is for you all to be safe and sound."
After saying that, she glanced behind Lin Zao again, "By the way, where's Jian'er?"
"My husband has important business to attend to and has gone to the Prince Cheng's residence. Mother, don't worry, he will be back soon."
Knowing that Tang Jian had something to do and that's why he hadn't come back, Tang's mother was finally relieved.
Her gaze then shifted to the two children who had been standing silently to one side since she entered the room.
Who are these two?
Lin Zao led the two of them to Tang's mother:
“These two are relatives of my father’s side. There was an accident in the family, and the daughter-in-law saw that the two children were cute, so she brought them back together. The older one is 13 years old and his name is He Lin, and the younger one is 5 years old and his name is He Qiu.”
The two siblings obediently bowed to Tang's mother.
Tang's mother nodded thoughtfully:
"So you're from the in-laws' side. We're all family. Don't stand on ceremony. You can call me Grandmother just like Hu Tou and the others."
Having recognized everyone, and seeing that Lin Zao looked somewhat tired, Tang's mother quickly said:
"Alright, let's go inside first. You should also wash up and get some rest. You must be very tired from the journey."
