Chapter 320 Tang Jian Stuttered

When Han Qingyuan started talking about that war, his mouth wouldn't stop, as if he was still reliving the excitement of that time.

After listening to his words, Lin Zao noticed that Aunt Ren didn't seem to be there, and guessed that Ren Tianci should have returned as well, and that the mother and son had probably gone back to the courtyard for a short get-together.

With a smile on her lips, Tang's mother listened as Han Qingyuan continued, recounting how Tang Jian led his soldiers into the heart of the Wuyi tribes, how they captured the Wuyi commander, and how they terrified the Wuyi soldiers...

"Brother, don't just praise your elder brother. If it weren't for you and strategist Ren Chou, how could I have ended the war so quickly?"

Tang Jian strode in, followed by a string of children.

During the meal, no one stopped talking, a rare exception, and adults and children alike were all having a lively time.

After dinner, Han Qingyuan and his wife returned to their own courtyard. The couple hadn't been together for so long, and everyone smiled knowingly without making fun of them.

Remembering that she hadn't told Tang Jian about Old Man Tang's family yet, Lin Zao sent the children back home.

Soon, only the couple and Tang's mother remained in the house.

Lin Zao glanced at Tang's mother; it was definitely Tang's mother who should handle this matter.

Seeing Lin Zao's actions, Tang's mother knew he was about to say something. Looking at her tall and upright son, she spoke with a heavy heart:

"Jian'er, your father, your elder brother, and your sister-in-law have come to the General's Mansion. What do you think we should do?"

Tang Jian's eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint flashing in his pupils, but he quickly concealed it and said to his mother:

"Don't worry, Mother. It's good that they're here. I have some things I need to discuss with them. I know what to do and won't let them bother our family."

From his tone, Tang's mother knew that he wouldn't let that family take advantage of the General's Mansion in the slightest. She just didn't know how Tang Jian would deal with them.

"No matter what you do, I just hope you won't regret it someday, and that it won't leave a bad reputation, understand?"

Tang Jian smiled and nodded, "Your son understands, so please rest assured, Mother."

Seeing Tang Jian's attitude, Tang's mother didn't say anything more. Now that he was a general, he understood more than she did, and he didn't need her to remind him.

She was just afraid that he would be blinded by hatred and do something he would regret later, so she said something extra.

Tang's mother: "Alright, I have nothing more to say. You two should go back now. It's getting late. You can settle anything tomorrow. You should also have a good time together and hopefully give me another grandson soon."

Tang's mother smiled and waved to the two of them, signaling them to leave.

The couple blushed slightly, but didn't know what to say, and could only leave after Tang's mother teased them.

Back in their room, the young couple didn't immediately become affectionate as Tang's mother had imagined, after all, their passionate encounter that afternoon had only just ended.

After sending all the servants away, Lin Zao tightly closed the door before pulling Tang Jian to the middle of the room.

With a wave of his hand, a box containing a thousand-year-old ginseng appeared on the table.

Tang Jian's eyes sharpened: "What is this?"

Lin Zao carefully opened the box.

Tang Jian stared at the ginseng in the box, his pupils dilating, speechless with shock.

Lin Zao waved his hand again, and the huge python corpse appeared on the ground with a "thud," shaking the floor of the house with a muffled sound.

Tang Jian's breath hitched. He quickly pulled Lin Zao behind him and warily watched the giant snake in front of him.

They only breathed a sigh of relief when they discovered it was a dead snake.

Tang Jian then turned his somewhat unsteady gaze toward Lin Zao, his face full of confusion and shock.

It was unusual for him to stutter a little.

"My lady, what... are these?"
