Chapter 36 I'll spend my whole life making it up to her

He looked at the two children. He never expected that he would be so lucky to have two such precious children. These were all thanks to her!

He also saw his mother's affection for her; perhaps even he, her son, was less important to her than Lin Zao.

Having such a wife is enough! No matter how she treats him, he is determined to spend his whole life making it up to her, respecting her, loving her, and taking care of her!

Tang Jian couldn't help but recall last night; in fact, he was conscious when Lin Zao was washing him.

When he struggled to wake up and found that it was a familiar young woman, he was furious. He thought he had been tricked and wanted to fight back, but he was too exhausted to move and passed out completely.

Looking back now, there's a touch of romance to it all. Even Lin Zao's startled expression and flushed face are deeply imprinted in his mind.

And when he woke up in the morning and saw her sleeping peacefully beside him, so delicate and vulnerable, if his mother hadn't been there early in the morning with the two children, waiting for him to wake up, he might have mistaken her for a spy.

When he learned from his mother that she was his wife, a surge of passion welled up inside him! Especially when he saw her frightened expression that morning, his heart pounded.

He only calmed down when he noticed her avoiding him; he didn't want to scare her.

Tang Jian guessed that she was wary of him because she was unfamiliar with him. In fact, he knew nothing about her either, but she was his wife, and it was his responsibility to not run away from it!

Noticing her son's absent-mindedness, Tang's mother looked at Tang Jian with some concern. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Tang Jian immediately came to his senses.

“I’m not uncomfortable. I was thinking that since the children are studying with the Crown Prince, we shouldn’t interfere too much. They should get along as they should, and we shouldn’t make the children deliberately cater to him just because of his status as the Crown Prince.”

Tang's mother rolled her eyes at Tang Jian. Was she the kind of person who was senile?

"General, Madam, breakfast is ready." Aunt Ren interrupted their conversation as she stood at the door carrying a tray full of food.

Tang's mother quickly let Aunt Ren in and put breakfast on the table, which also included medicine that she had prepared for Tang Jian.

Tang Jian stopped his casual conversation with his mother. He hadn't washed or changed since he woke up. His mother was unwell, and Lin Zao had gone out, so there was no one to help him. He frowned, looking somewhat troubled.

Tang's mother guessed what was going on from her son's expression.

"By the way, those two young men have been waiting outside since they brought you back yesterday. Why don't you ask Aunt Ren to call them over to help you?"

Tang Jian knew it must be his two personal guards, Sun Ding and Tian Bu'er, so he did not refuse.

When Sun Ding and the others came in and saw that their general had finally woken up, they were relieved!

Tang Jian first had the two men escort his mother and the others to the main hall for their meal, and then they would come back to serve him.

After everything was tidied up, Tang Jian called out to the two of them.

"Sun Ding, go to Qibaoge in the East City and find their owner for me! Tell him that my agreement with him can begin, and he will know what to do! Bu Er, prepare pen and ink for me. I'll write a letter, and you can deliver it to the Prince's Mansion for me!"

"Yes, General!" The two men answered in unison without asking any questions.

Lin Zao felt a bit hungry because she left home too quickly in the morning. She just quickly washed up and ran out without having time to eat.

She had just finished breakfast at the food stall and was leisurely preparing to go to the blacksmith shop when she unexpectedly ran into an acquaintance on the way.
