Chapter 367 Who is Wang Lin?

After entering the city, Lin Zao found an inn, intending to get a good night's rest before returning to Datong Town.

It's quite a distance from here to Datong Town; it will probably take at least two days to get there.

Having found a decent-looking inn, Lin Zao didn't hesitate. She led her horse over, tossed a five-tael silver ingot to the waiter standing at the door, and ordered:

"Give me a superior room, bring me some hot water, and prepare a few of your signature dishes. I'll eat after my bath. Oh, and take my horse to get it cleaned and fed it some good hay."

She hadn't had a proper rest during the long journey, and her body was filthy and uncomfortable; she needed to wash herself thoroughly.

Upon receiving the silver from Lin Zao, the waiter happily replied, "Alright, sir, please wait a moment."

He waved to a corner, and someone immediately came over to take Lin Zao's horse and lead it to the stable in the backyard of the inn. Then the waiter took Lin Zao to a superior room upstairs.

"Sir, this is your room. Hot water will be served shortly. Please rest well. I'll take my leave now."

After everyone left, Lin Zao finally breathed a sigh of relief and stretched his muscles and bones. The soreness caused by riding horses these past few days was finally relieved a little.

"Knock knock"

"Sir, your hot water is here."

"Enter."

Lin Zao brought in three large buckets of hot water before instructing people to prepare the meal.

After Lin Zao finished her hot bath, she felt as if she had come back to life, as if even her stiff muscles had become active again.

She had just instructed someone to remove the water from the room when the food she had ordered was brought up.

As Lin Zao ate her hot meal, she thought to herself how excellent the service at the inn was.

This was, in fact, the first time Lin Zao had stayed at an inn since arriving in ancient times.

Previously, when traveling, we would either set up tents by the roadside or under trees, or stay in other people's houses or rent rooms.

The experience of staying here was quite unique, not much different from modern boutique hotels, but with even more attentive service.

The next morning, as soon as Lin Zao went downstairs, she asked the waiter to prepare some food.

She planned to leave for Datong Town after finishing her meal, so she could pick up her things as soon as possible and return home.

Lin Zao had barely sat down and taken a few sips of tea when someone came up to her and stared at her face.

"Is this... young master Wang Lin?"

Lin Zao looked up in surprise. The person looked familiar, but she couldn't remember where she had seen him before. Who was Wang Lin?

Could it be that her outfit makes her look like someone else?

Lin Zao asked calmly, "Who are you?"

The man paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "I am the steward of the prefect's household. I suppose Young Master Wang Lin is too busy to remember me."

Upon hearing this, Lin Zao suddenly remembered that she had followed the kidnappers who had abducted Wei Yu to the residence of Prefect Li Zheng of Luolin and had even saved the prefect's son.

When she left, it was this steward who saw her off and gave her a hundred taels of silver as a thank-you gift.

At that time, she was disguised as a man and even casually picked up an alias, which I think was Wang Lin.

I thought we'd never meet again, but I never expected she'd be recognized as soon as she arrived at Luolin Manor.

Lin Zao feigned a look of sudden realization, then stood up and bowed to the prefect's steward in apology:

"So it's the Butler. I'm so sorry for being so rude. Please forgive me."
