Chapter 378 Opening Eyes

So she said she was worried that her wife would get angry if she found out, so Li Zheng sent someone to her room secretly to carry out his plan, right?

What a thoughtful prefect!

Lin Zao sneered inwardly.

However, she also knew that if she refused again, Li Zheng would definitely guess that what she said before was a lie, and he might come up with an even more unacceptable scheme to deal with her, and the girl would not fare well either.

Looking at the girl with her head bowed, Lin Zao hesitated for a moment before finally relenting and saying:

"Come in."

The dancer breathed a sigh of relief, thinking she was going to die today. She didn't expect the young master to let her in, so she obediently stepped through the door.

With a bang, the door slammed shut, and a dark figure hidden in the courtyard vanished.

The dancer stood somewhat reservedly in the room. Although the young master had invited her in, she could sense that he wasn't interested in her.

She dared not approach the young master again without permission, fearing that she might anger him and be kicked out, which would leave her unable to explain herself to the prefect.

"Go to bed and rest first, I'll just make do with whatever I have," Lin Zao instructed the dancer directly.

Upon hearing this, the dancer was flattered and said, "This humble servant dares not, young master, please go to bed!"

"That's it!" Lin Zao didn't want to argue, her face immediately turned serious, and her cold voice left no room for argument.

Lin Zao kept the dancer around because she had errands to run that night, and having the dancer there would provide cover.

Seeing that Lin Zao was angry, the dancer timidly agreed and walked to the bedside. She carefully lay down on the bed without making any noise and closed her eyes tightly.

The dancer wasn't asleep at first, after all, she had been in a room with a man, and so much had happened that day, she had almost lost her life.

I still can't quite calm down; as my mind wanders, I become increasingly clear-headed.

In a daze, she seemed to smell a faint fragrance, and the dancer felt a little sleepy. She turned over slightly and fell into a deep sleep.

Lin Zao sensed that the dancer's breathing was even and knew that she had fallen asleep.

However, the medicine that Hua Nanxing gave her was indeed effective, and I didn't expect to need it so soon.

After calling her softly a few times, the dancer showed no sign of responding, so Lin Zao felt relieved and went behind the screen to change her clothes.

When he came out again, he was dressed in black. The courtyard was very quiet at this time. The people living in the courtyard were either asleep or enjoying the great harmony of life with their beauties.

Lin Zao gently pushed open the window, nimbly jumped out, and landed lightly on the ground without making a sound.

Her window was located in a dead corner of the yard, so she didn't have to worry about being discovered.

After checking his surroundings and finding no one around, Lin Zao darted over the courtyard wall and disappeared into the darkness.

No one noticed this scene except for the young man in black who seemed to be Xiao Wu's twin. He was sitting on the bed in the room when he suddenly opened his eyes and glanced in the direction of Lin Zao's room.

After a moment, he quietly closed his eyes again, as if nothing had happened.

Lin Zao sped off towards Li Zheng's courtyard.

She had paid attention to the layout of the mansion during the day, and while chatting with Huang Xiaohu, she had inquired about Li Zheng's residence and study.

Therefore, Lin Zao quickly found the right direction.

Upon arriving at Li Zheng's courtyard, Lin Zao saw a light shining from a certain spot, which appeared to be the direction of the study.

She nimbly slipped to a rooftop outside the study and crouched down, where she could vaguely see through the paper window and even hear the voices inside clearly.

"Lotus Maiden has already gone to Wang Lin's room. Is she able to get that thing out of him?"
