As firecrackers crackled and popped, Tang Jian, along with Lin Zao and their two children, greeted the guests who came to offer their congratulations at the entrance of the General's Mansion, while Tang's mother sat in the back to keep the guests company.
Lin Zao didn't recognize many of the guests who came today. Most of them were Tang Jian's comrades-in-arms and their families, as well as people from the same faction as Prince Cheng.
The guests who came in first congratulated Tang Jian and his family, then praised the two children, and finally presented them with housewarming gifts before following the butler into the banquet hall to sit down.
The servants in the mansion led the guests in an orderly manner and served them tea and snacks.
As time passed, all the guests arrived, including the Cheng family. Tang Jian and Lin Zao personally led them to the General's Mansion and seated them in the main seats.
Tang Jian first bowed to King Cheng, then looked at the guests present.
"Distinguished guests, I am honored to have you all take the time to come to my new home today. Let me first raise a toast to you all!"
Everyone present raised their glasses in return.
"Congratulations, General Tang, on establishing your residence! We also raise a toast to you!"
"Respect, General!"
After toasting, Tang Jian glanced at his mother and Han Qingyuan and nodded in acknowledgment.
"With everyone here, I would also like to announce some good news. Today is also the day my mother is recognizing her godson, and I hope you will all be my witnesses!"
"Qingyuan, come here!" Tang's mother smiled and nodded, calling Han Qingyuan over.
Han Qingyuan walked up to her, knelt down solemnly and kowtowed several times, picked up the tea brought by the maid next to him, and respectfully handed it to Tang's mother with his only remaining hand.
“Godmother, your son Han Qingyuan will surely regard you as his own mother from now on, and will be filial to you and respect you! Please have some tea.”
"Good boy, get up quickly!" Tang's mother happily handed him a red envelope.
Han Qingyuan reached out and took it before standing up to face the guests present.
The guests looked at each other in surprise, clearly not expecting Tang Jian to hold the family reunion banquet today. The young master Han even had a missing hand, which showed that he valued his new sworn brother very much!
Regardless, let's quickly offer our congratulations.
"Congratulations to Madam Tang on the birth of your godson! Young Master Han is a talented young man who will surely achieve extraordinary things in the future. Madam Tang is truly blessed!"

After the family reunion concluded, the luncheon officially began, with everyone clinking glasses and conversing quietly.
With King Cheng and his men in charge, no one dared to make a loud noise.
By the time the banquet ended, it was already past 1 PM. Tang Jian and Lin Zao saw all the guests off before they finally relaxed.
It's finally over!
The room had already been cleaned up by the maids. This Granny Hu was indeed capable; she and Steward Wu had arranged today's banquet.
Without the two of them, she would probably be in a complete mess.
Tang's mother led Tang Jian and Han Qingyuan to her courtyard and into a side room.
He made the two people kneel down and kowtow before the two memorial tablets on the table.
Tang's mother was somewhat saddened. She was her parents' only child, and her father was in poor health, so she passed away when she was not even two years old.
Her mother worked hard to raise her until she was 15, but she passed away unexpectedly before she could get married.
She was left to be married off to a second-time husband by that mean-spirited uncle and aunt. If her own parents were still alive, she would never have married that selfish and self-serving Old Man Tang!
Just thinking about it, if she hadn't married him, she wouldn't have such a filial and honorable son, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and two adorable grandchildren.
Thinking of this, she wasn't too sad anymore. Everything in this world, every drink and every bite, is preordained.
