Chapter 34: Fleeing from Famine and Fighting Against Robbery Bandits

A few miles away from the valley, there were scattered groups of people sitting together, totaling hundreds of people.

The two village elders hurried over to ask.

It turned out that the valley ahead was easy to defend but difficult to attack. Recently, a group of bandits had taken over the mountain and were robbing passers-by.

Especially the rich, they only steal things. If you give them things obediently, they will let you go.

This was just yesterday when a few bandits came over and shouted at them, telling them to put down their things and leave quickly.

How could this group of poor people agree to this? They don’t have many bags or food to begin with. If they were given everything, wouldn’t that be the same as death?

There's only one official road at the entrance to the col, and the roads on either side are inaccessible. On the left is a cliff, and on the right is a bandit's lair. It's a real dilemma. That's why so many people gathered.

It was already 3 p.m., and the village chief informed everyone to camp there for the night. "Let's discuss what to do next." Everyone moved a little further away from the crowd and headed to the woods beside the official road to start their preparations. The two village chiefs and elders, along with Liu Yuhan, her grandfather, and her parents, discussed the matter.

Finally, Liu Yuhan decided to take his parents to secretly go up and see what was going on.

At 1:00 AM, Liu Yuhan retrieved a flashlight from his spaceship and led his parents toward the bandit's lair. He then took out a telescope to survey the terrain. As they neared the den, the three of them covered their heads and faces with scarves, leaving only their eyes exposed.

Through the telescope, I saw more than a dozen cabins.

Give the telescope to your parents and let them take a look too.

They were both shocked. This thing was so effective! Something so far away looked so big and close.

This was one of the most amazing things they had ever seen. Well, the last one was probably a bicycle, or the tools in the medicine box. In short, it was all my daughter's things. My daughter was really amazing.

The three of them slowly approached and discussed quietly. They didn't know how many bandits there were. If they acted rashly, not only would they alert people, but they also didn't know if they could get away safely.

Liu Yuhan had some sleeping pills, so the three decided to drug them. After they fell unconscious, they would tie them up and ask people from Anyang Prefecture to come and take them to jail.

Liu told the father and daughter to wait, then struck the two drowsy guards in the neck with a knife, knocking them unconscious. She gagged them with rags and tied them up with the rope her daughter had given her. She dragged them to a secluded place. The rope was from the packing bags in the space, which she had bought in large quantities for her rice farming. It came in handy right now.

The three of them quietly looked at each room one by one, skipping the room where the shouting was deafening, and finally found the kitchen at the very edge.

There were two large water tanks in the kitchen, each filled with half a tank of water. Liu Yuhan poured the sleeping pills into the two tanks and stirred them.

The three of them left the bandit's den a little further away and found a place to rest and wait for dawn. It would be dawn in an hour at most.

Liu Yuhan took out milk and bread from the space and gave them to his parents. The pure milk and meat floss bread were something the couple had never eaten before.

I said hello to my parents, set the alarm and went into the space to take a nap. Before leaving the space, I tidied up the unused room again, leaving half the space empty.

All she could think of was, there must be something in the bandit's den, right? She should move it somewhere in advance.

Liu Yuhan left the space. It was dawn and the three of them walked cautiously towards the bandit's lair.

All three of them were wearing gray clothes and had their heads and faces wrapped in gray cloth, so they were not very conspicuous.

They hid behind a rock and looked at the bandit's nest with a telescope. Smoke was rising from the chimney, indicating that they were already cooking. After waiting for another half an hour, it was already dawn.

Liu Shinan had been watching with a telescope and whispered to them that the bandit's den seemed to be in chaos.

The three of them quietly walked towards the bandit's lair.

As expected, a large number of them fell down, and some of the fish that had escaped the net were screaming and screaming. Liu knocked them out one by one. Not wanting to waste her daughter's rope, and because the rope was not suitable for this dynasty, Liu asked Liu Shinan to take off their outer clothes, tear them into strips, and tie them up in groups of three or five.

In addition to some rough men, there were also more than ten women who were tied up by Liu, so there were about a hundred people in total.

Liu Yuhan looked at every room and put away all the useful things. Of course, she didn't like the dirty and muddy bedding, as the smell would probably pollute her space.

There were not many valuable things in these rooms except some wooden benches, tables, bedding and clothes. Liu Shinan searched the people while tying them up and found a lot of silver.

Liu Yuhan went to the stove and collected all their food.

There was still plenty of food. There were five bags of brown rice and three bags of white rice. There was also quite a bit of rice in the rice jar, both brown and white. There was also some white and black flour. There was also some dried bacon and wild vegetables. The pots and pans were put away, and the water in the two large water jars was emptied and stored in the space.

The three of them searched around again, wondering if they had hidden the stolen goods somewhere. They thought they had hidden them in a cave, if not in the cellar.

Liu Yuhan thought of a more luxurious room, and took his parents back to see it. This room was the largest, and the clothes and bedding were all newer, and there were also women's clothes.

Liu Shinan knocked on the wooden floor, knocking here and there, and then crawled under the bed. His tall body almost got stuck.

Liu Yuhan and Liu...

"Wife and daughter, here, here!"

Liu Shinan crawled out from under the bed and motioned them to move the heavy wooden bed together. At the corner of the bed, when they pushed open the square wooden boards, they found that it was indeed a cellar.

Liu Shinan went down with the flashlight his daughter had given him, and told them to meet him upstairs and bring up everything one by one.

There were six large chests, three of which contained valuable fabrics and silks. One large chest contained medicinal herbs. A long chest contained more than ten machetes, unlike the machetes used by ordinary people, these were the long knives used by escorts.
