Chapter 32 Princess Yunni, You Have Committed Many Evils

After Ji Xin'er left, only Zhong Muyu and Lu Ziyuan remained by the lake.

Seeing that he remained silent, Zhong Muyu spoke first: "What I said just now was not a lie. I really have nothing to do with them anymore. It's just that Shi Heng can't get over his inner turmoil, so he came to me. But you know, for the sake of our reputations, I can't easily agree to anything he asks."

Zhong Muyu's resolute statement seemed to have some effect; Lu Ziyuan appeared less angry, but he still couldn't tolerate it, feeling as if he had been cuckolded.

"He can't get over it in his heart, so how can I know if you've truly let go?"

"If I said I've let it go, would you believe me?"

Faced with this question, Lu Ziyuan became somewhat anxious. Even if he said he believed it, subconsciously he still didn't.

He had always disliked Zhong Muyu because of this.

Zhong Muyu said, "It seems you won't believe me no matter what I say. Oh well, it doesn't matter whether you believe me or not. Anyway, we'll be fine once we get back."

She spoke freely, but Lu Ziyuan said doubtfully, "You said it yourself. When we get back to Lingqing, we'll settle these matters properly."

"That would be wonderful! By the way, before this happens, keep an eye on that Princess Yunni. She really hates me. Be careful she doesn't accidentally embellish what happened today. It would be fine for me, but it would be bad if she dragged you into it."

Zhong Muyu appeared to be understanding and considerate, but she was particularly irritating to Lu Ziyuan.

"I know."

After Lu Ziyuan left, Zhong Muyu watched him walk through the crowd without looking for Ji Xin'er or Su Zhirou.

However, after Zhong Muyu left, Ji Xiner suddenly jumped out and blocked her way.

"Your Highness still has the interest to admire flowers. Now that things have come to this, Prince Ling is probably very angry with you. Be careful that he doesn't report you to the Emperor for infidelity and divorce you."

Zhong Muyu smiled and said, "Princess Yunni seems to really want me to be divorced, but you'll be disappointed. The Prince has no intention of divorcing me. Aren't you angry?"

Ji Xin'er sneered: "Ha! What are you so smug about? Even if you weren't divorced, after causing this kind of trouble, His Highness will never look at you again!"

"That has nothing to do with you, an outsider. You can be smug when that day comes."

Zhong Muyu retaliated without hesitation. Although Ji Xin'er was angry, she remained rational, though her eyes were filled with terrifying resentment.

"That day will come!"

After she left, Zhong Muyu muttered to herself, "Those eyes are truly terrifying."

There are too many monsters and demons in this place; she really hopes to leave as soon as possible.

However, Zhong Muyu did not expect that Ji Xiner's mischievous ways would not stop at all.

The flower-viewing banquet lasted all day. By evening, the young ladies and gentlemen of the capital had all returned home one after another. However, the Crown Princess seemed to have not had enough fun and invited everyone to the East Palace for further entertainment.

Tomorrow everyone will go their separate ways, and as the Crown Prince, I also want to reunite with my brothers one last time.

This time, Zhong Muyu tried her best to avoid contact with Ji Xiner, lest she use any more tricks. Perhaps she was too wary, because Ji Xiner did not approach her again and did not say a word.

Just as Zhong Muyu was lost in thought, Su Zhirou behind her suddenly raised a glass of wine to toast her: "Your Highness, I toast you!"

If it were someone else offering a toast, it would be fine, but what's wrong with Su Zhirou?

She agreed with some skepticism, and then heard Su Zhirou say, "Your Highness, after returning to Lingqing, you will no longer have the opportunity to participate in such banquets. I am truly delighted."

"What do you mean?"

"Sister, please don't hide it from me. The Prince has already told me. I didn't expect that what you said that day was true. Since it is the path you have chosen, I can only wish you happiness in the future."

Su Zhirou poured herself another glass of wine, her eyes gleaming with an unusual light. Zhong Muyu suddenly remembered what she had told her before:

I want to get away from you, as far away as possible.

It seems Lu Ziyuan revealed something to her, which is why she was so happy.

Thinking about it this way, Zhong Muyu felt relieved: "If that's truly what you think, then I hope you'll be happy in the Prince Ling's mansion in the future."

After being toasted twice by Su Zhirou, Zhong Muyu felt dizzy.

The prince's family's liquor is really strong!

Just then, a palace maid stepped forward to pour wine, but accidentally knocked over a teacup, splashing tea onto Zhong Muyu's skirt.

The palace maid immediately knelt down: "It was my fault, Your Highness, please forgive me!"

No one expected that someone working in the Eastern Palace could be so careless, but no one was too harsh on them. The Crown Princess said, "How can you be so clumsy? You'll be fined a month's salary. You may leave now."

After the palace servants withdrew, the Crown Princess asked Zhong Muyu again, "Is Seventh Sister-in-law injured?"

"No, it's just a little tea stain, it's nothing."

"That's good. Someone, take Princess Ling downstairs to change her clothes."

Zhong Muyu was about to say no, but the people from the Eastern Palace were very efficient and arrived right away.

Two palace maids led Zhong Muyu to a side hall. One of them said, "Princess Ling, please wait a moment. This servant will go and fetch your clothes."

After the two went outside, Zhong Muyu looked around and suddenly smelled a unique incense fragrance.

She glanced at the table and saw a wisp of white smoke rising from the small incense burner.

Zhong Muyu was momentarily dazed, then suddenly covered her mouth and nose and tried to rush out.

However, the door was bolted shut from the outside, making it impossible to open from the inside. Realizing she had been tricked, Zhong Muyu immediately ran to the window behind the nearest screen, retrieved an axe from her spatial storage, and chopped it open.
