Lu Ziyuan asked, "Where is the medicine box? I'll go get it."
"Medicine kit? No need, I can handle this myself. You can go."
"You? You can walk to get the first-aid kit?"
“I…I asked Zaochun to help me, after all, she is my personal maid.”
Zhong Muyu brought up Early Spring; otherwise, what could she say? She kept taking things out of her spatial storage, and there was no medicine box prepared here at all.
Lu Ziyuan looked towards the kitchen, where Zaochun was busy cooking, while Chengfeng was being directed to do this and that.
"She's so busy, you don't need to bother her."
Seeing this, Zhong Muyu had no choice but to admit: "Okay, actually I didn't prepare a first-aid kit at all."
"What? You live in a place like this and you don't even prepare such necessities?"
"There's really no need for that. I go to Linghai Port every few days. If I need anything, I can just go to the clinic. Who knew I'd sprain my ankle today?"
Lu Ziyuan looked utterly distraught; it seemed he would have to send someone to the city to buy it.
Zhong Muyu, of course, saw through his thoughts. She rolled her eyes and took out a box of ointment from her sleeve: "No need to send someone to buy it. Although I don't have a medicine box, I carry ointment with me."
"Did you bring it?"
"Of course, I wasn't completely unprepared; I do have some ointment for sprains and bruises. Okay, you can go now, I can handle it myself."
Unexpectedly, Lu Ziyuan snatched the ointment and then took off her shoes.
Zhong Muyu was startled: "You don't need to do this. I sprained my ankle, not my hand!"
However, by the time she finished speaking, Lu Ziyuan had already taken off her socks and rolled up her trouser legs.
"Sure enough, it's swollen. Luckily, no bones or tendons were injured. Applying some medicine will help it heal quickly."
Lu Ziyuan carefully examined it and even pressed it.
"Ouch! It hurts! It hurts!"
Zhong Muyu screamed and slammed her fist on the table.
After the pain subsided, she felt the coolness of the ointment on her foot. Lu Ziyuan carefully applied the ointment and then wrapped it tightly with a cloth.
His bandaging skills were superb; his technique was impressive.
Zhong Muyu said jokingly, "Your bandaging skills are pretty good. I didn't expect you to be so meticulous."
"This is a basic skill for marching and fighting. Okay, don't move for now, wait until the swelling goes down before you get out of bed and walk."
"well!"
Zhong Muyu looked at her bandaged foot and sighed softly, "This is such a hassle."
"If you're not afraid of pain, then you don't need to worry about it."
"Never mind then, I'm very afraid of pain."
Zhong Muyu immediately pulled her foot back.
"You've really been a great help; I really need to thank you. But, what brings you to Qingshui Village all of a sudden?"
Lu Ziyuan said, "I will naturally know that you asked Chengfeng for help. You are the Princess Consort of Ling, and I will naturally protect your safety."
"What kind of reason is that? It's as if you care about me a lot. Oh right, I'm still the Princess Consort of Ling. If they cause trouble at the Prince's residence, it will affect the reputation you cherish. That was my mistake."
Lu Ziyuan frowned, clearly dissatisfied with Zhong Muyu's explanation: "It's not a matter of reputation. I... I didn't think that much when I came here."
"If you put it that way, I'll be a little happier. At least I'll feel like you still have some humanity."
"..."
What does it mean to still have some human touch?
Lu Ziyuan is a human being, he's very humane, okay?
The two remained silent until mealtime. Zaochun delivered the food to the living room of Zhong Muyu's room, and only Zhong Muyu and Lu Ziyuan ate face to face in the entire room.
The meal consisted of a few simple green vegetables, but they were delicious and visually appealing. However, sitting across from Lu Ziyuan, Zhong Muyu found it difficult to swallow.
Besides, it used to be a lively and bustling meal with a group of people at one table, but now it feels so deserted.
Seeing that she hadn't touched her chopsticks much, Lu Ziyuan asked, "What's wrong? Is it not good?"
"No, I personally taught Zaochun to cook it, how could it not taste good?"
"Yes, but I'm still a little lacking compared to you."
She wouldn't be happy even if Lu Ziyuan praised her.
Lu Ziyuan had planned to leave after lunch, but to his surprise, he sat quietly in a corner reading a book as if he were at home.
Noticing the gaze fixed on him, Lu Ziyuan looked up: "Aren't you going to rest?"
"I have so much to do, why are you still here? Has everything been resolved?"
“The immediate problem has been resolved, but not completely. Your foot hasn’t recovered yet, and the village matters haven’t been settled. I’ll wait here for you.”
"Does Prince Ling really need to personally concern himself with such trivial matters? You should be quite busy. At the very least, you can go and keep your Rou'er company."
Lu Ziyuan turned his eyes back to the book, seemingly having no intention of leaving.
"None of that matters."
Zhong Muyu stared at the book in his hand. The books here were all supernatural tales and various storybooks that she had bought from the city. Did the prince also like to read these kinds of books?
"Okay, then you can stay here. I won't bother you. I'm leaving."
Zhong Muyu, supporting herself on the furniture, moved step by step toward the door.
My foot doesn't seem to hurt as much anymore.
Lu Ziyuan immediately put down his book: "Stop! Where are you going?"
"The restaurant, because of today's incident, I had to close it for a day. All the profits for that day are gone, and that's a loss. We can't afford to lose money again tomorrow, so I have to keep an eye on it."
Zhong Muyu summoned Zaochun, who looked bewildered as she helped her up: "Your Highness, where are you going?"
"Back to the restaurant, let's get back to work tomorrow."
Zao Chun glanced at Lu Ziyuan, then at Zhong Muyu: "But, your feet..."
