Chapter 206 Lighting is Important

"It's definitely not possible without lighting. We have elderly people and children at home, and we can't all be in the dark. So I'd like to ask my neighbors for candles or something. Do you have any?"

Naturally, no one answered this question. Everyone knew that these supplies would become increasingly scarce as time went on, so exchanging them was out of the question. The topic was naturally passed over because no one spoke. The person who had asked the question before also knew what was going on. Why hadn't they spoken again? Besides, everyone had just received their supplies today. How could they be so short of supplies? No one was stupid.

The conversation then shifted gears, with someone asking, "Now that we only have electricity for three hours at night, how do you all use lighting? Let's see which method is more energy-efficient. After all, there are only a few candles left, and no one knows if they'll be available again."

"Because we have heating on, even though it's still quite cold, it's okay to wear thicker clothes in winter. It's much better than in the south, so we only use candles for lighting here. We don't have anything else. It's just right that we can go to bed early and get up early, and then just wait until dawn."

"We live on the first floor and it's very dark even during the day. So now I'm very conflicted during the day. It's cold outside, and the light inside isn't very good. I don't know what to do."

"That's all we can do. So, while it's a good idea to buy a high-rise apartment right now, if the power goes out, you might be more comfortable living lower down. We have to consider whether to climb stairs or carry water, but you don't have to worry too much about either of those things."
