Chapter 12 Variables

Shen Jing looked at the thermometer in her hand with a solemn expression.

The temperature in S City in March actually soared to nearly 40 degrees Celsius.

Is this due to the changes brought about by her rebirth?

Thinking of this, Shen Jing quickly took out the water container she had bought.

She needs to fill the containers as soon as possible.

Lately, besides going out to collect supplies, I've been going to the martial arts gym to practice.

Shen Jing didn't have time to store water at all.

Just thinking about her past life, the predicament of not having enough water to bathe or cook, made her restless for a moment!

Shen Jing told Uncle Li via WeChat: "I'll receive the goods in the next couple of days, and I'll pick them up after I'm done with my work."

"Okay! But those charcoal and firewood probably won't last long, it's just too hot!"

"Was it just delivered?"

"Hmm! It just arrived." Uncle Li said to her while counting the packages, "There were so many packages last night."

"Okay, we'll go and take away the charcoal and firewood later."

It's definitely not safe to leave this thing lying around.

Her warehouse has a lot of important dried goods!

Shen Jing put the bucket of water she had just filled into her spatial storage and then booked a flight to an overseas destination.

First, fly to Country A to buy gasoline and firearms!

Then we went to several lakes in Russia and filled them with water!

Since there are uncertainties, she can't wait any longer, otherwise, whether she can return to China will be a problem.

She didn't want her newly renovated safe house to benefit someone else!

When Shen Jing arrived at the warehouse, goods were being unloaded in front of the door.

She had only been standing outside for a short while when she felt as if she were soaked in sweat, feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Uncle Li stood beside her, picked up a cigarette to smoke, but after thinking for a moment, he tucked it behind his ear.

He looked at the firewood and charcoal piled up in the warehouse, almost reaching the doorway, and hesitated to smoke.

Seeing his expression, Shen Jing teased, "Is your daughter-in-law preparing to stop eating the nicotine gum?"

Another familiar truck driver chimed in, "That's right, it's all about filial piety."

Uncle Li was also amused, but he pretended to sigh with difficulty: "There's nothing I can do, their intentions are rare, and I'm not that kind of stubborn old man!"

During the conversation, most of the goods on the truck had been unloaded.

After the convoy had all left.

Shen Jing directly calculated two months' salary for him, saying, "After I go abroad, the warehouse can be locked after receiving goods each day."

"This won't do! We agreed on the amount, and that's the amount!" Uncle Li frowned uncomfortably as he looked at the bank's notification of the deposit. "You've already given me so many boxes of food and drinks, why are you giving me two bags of rice?! This is unacceptable!"

However, he never expected that these seemingly insignificant grains would be the reason his entire family survived during their struggle for survival in the apocalypse…

"Consider it a company perk." Shen Jing got into the car briskly, turned to Uncle Li and said, "Let's go, I'll give you a ride home on the way."

She had just heard Uncle Li mention that there were several livestock farms in their village, raising pigs, cattle, chickens, and ducks, and their fishponds had fish fry and shrimp.

Perfect timing, it's like a pillow for someone who's sleepy!

Even if she doesn't know how to butcher, it's never a bad thing to have one on hand!

She used to just collect the goods and leave, almost missing out on this treasure.

Uncle Li said somewhat embarrassedly, "I'll just have my son come pick me up later..."

"Uncle Li, why don't you introduce me to a reliable person? I'd like to go to the village to buy some chickens, ducks, fish, and shrimp, it's on my way."

"Oh dear, this is important! People still listen to me in the village." Knowing he could help, Uncle Li quickly got into the car. "Look how nice our village is! There are even farmhouses in the village. You can come and visit often!"

Shen Jing just smiled when she heard this. Apart from daily social interactions, she didn't want to have too much involvement with other people.

She feared that if she spent too much time together, feelings would develop, and she wouldn't be able to ignore it later.

But in this apocalypse, killing the Holy Mother first is something she doesn't want to do to make a fool of herself.

Although she doesn't consider herself to be a wishy-washy person.

But……

Human hearts are hard to guard against!

A dozen minutes later, we arrived at the village.

Shen Jing first delivered bread, canned food, and rice to Uncle Li's house, and then he took her to find the breeding farm.

The farms are not very large.

However, the variety is complete.

They bought ten chickens, ten ducks, and ten geese, and five pigs, five cows, and five sheep.

Shen Jing plans to try raising animals in the space.

This involuntarily reminded her of a joke: raising chickens to lay eggs, and those eggs hatching into chicks, results in a continuous supply of chicken meat.

Shen Jing was both amused and happy, and she transferred the money very readily.

"Don't worry, these families all have a very good reputation in the village! I just checked them carefully for you, and they're all in good spirits. They should be able to keep up with you!"

After quietly finishing his conversation with her, Uncle Li picked up the phone again to help her contact the fishpond.

"Thank you again, Uncle Li, for the introduction."

Shen Jing felt that if she had come alone, she really wouldn't have been able to figure these things out in a short time.

The reason why the seedlings in the space can be grown so far is because the soil and water there are suitable.

The ten years of the apocalypse taught her how to protect herself and how to kill.

But farming really isn't her forte...

The fishpond is also doing very well, with freshwater fish fry being raised.

There are also large, fully grown fish.

Shen Jing didn't do any further selection and bought one hundred of each.

Grass carp, crucian carp, catfish, snakehead, black carp, and so on were all packed into several tanks and transported away.

Uncle Li even helped her contact the truck driver from earlier.

The other party hadn't gone far and immediately agreed. It didn't matter where they went to pick up goods; the important thing was that Boss Shen was quick to pay!

"Have dinner before you go back. Your family has already made arrangements!" Uncle Li tried to persuade them again. Since they were already here, they should at least have a meal before leaving.
