Huang E avoided eye contact and lowered her head in a panic.
Shen Jing pushed her away and walked straight to the room from which the sound came from; Huang E had just come out of there.
"Is anyone there..." came a young woman with a dirty face. She was struggling to hold her stomach, while her other hand was clutching her still-intact clothes.
Shen Jing felt that she looked somewhat familiar.
So she brushed aside the woman's hair that was covering her face, "Huang Ling?!"
"Ugh...save me...please! Waaaaah!"
Upon hearing her name called, Huang Ling burst into tears of excitement.
Tears streamed down the tiny wounds on her face, making her feel both pain and a real sense of being alive.
Without hesitation, Shen Jing untied the ropes binding her.
Huang E, who followed, assumed they knew each other and then remembered to come and help.
But this action seemed to provoke Huang Ling, who let out a cry and tried to push Huang E away.
"Go...go away..." Huang Ling had no strength left, but she still pushed her desperately.
Shen Jing glanced at Huang E, "Did you tie her up?"
She walked around the room again. There were five women of different ages, but only the dying Huang Ling and the woman in front of her had survived.
Judging from Huang Ling's injuries, she must have been captured not long ago.
Remembering Huang Yue's past life, she grabbed Huang E and asked, "Where is her mother?"
"How should I know?! What do you mean by that...?"
But when Huang E saw Shen Jing's cold gaze, her shout stopped abruptly. However, she still gritted her teeth and refused to reveal any information about her mother.
Huang Ling started sobbing again: "Mommy...Mommy was...killed by her..."
Upon hearing this, Shen Jing's heart sank.
Is it still impossible to change?
"Sizzle"
She pointed the stun gun at Huang E and shouted, "Take me to her!"
"Ahhhh! Let me go! I'll take you away... I'll take you!" Huang E struggled violently, but Shen Jing only held her tighter. "Who told them not to sleep with Zhang Wu! It's not like they'll lose a piece of their flesh! It really has nothing to do with me!"
Shen Jing followed Huang E to the back of the house and soon saw He Jing.
Her condition was more serious than Huang Ling's; she appeared to have gone into shock.
Just as Shen Jing was about to pick up He Jing, she realized that Huang E was trying to run away, so she immediately shot her through the leg.
Hearing the pig-like screams and curses, Shen Jing gave He Jing another stun with the electric baton before finally giving her a cup of spiritual spring water.
If it were even a minute later...
He Jing truly died in this icy wasteland, just like in her previous life. But now, Shen Jing has finally changed their fate.
So, could she then change her fate of being killed by Shen Ting?
Shen Jing checked He Jing's breathing and pulse, and only after confirming that she had regained her vital signs did she carry her back into the house.
Huang Ling struggled to her feet, crying, "Mom! Mom... Waaah... How is she..."
She's alright!
Shen Jing spread her clothes on the ground, carefully placed He Jing on them, and then checked the wounds on He Jing and Huang Ling's bodies.
Huang Ling was simply weak, with several bloody marks on her face. He Jing, on the other hand, had been knocked unconscious and was beginning to show signs of hypothermia.
Fortunately, there was the spiritual spring water, otherwise Shen Jing would have been helpless!
"Thank you... Jing..." Huang Ling had regained some strength and recognized Shen Jing.
Unexpectedly, the person who saved them was their father's apprentice.
Their own aunt betrayed them, and the one who saved them was Shen Jing, whom they had only met a few times.
Huang Ling didn't ask Huang E where she went, nor did she care.
She simply held her mother, whose breathing had returned to normal, to confirm that He Jing was truly alive!
"I'll attach a life raft to the back of the motorcycle and take you back first."
Shen Jing didn't want to reveal the motorcycle, but she couldn't care less now; the two of them needed to get it home as soon as possible.
Sure enough, the snowmobiles and life rafts attracted a lot of attention along the way. But they made it back to Building 5 safely without any obstacles.
Huang Yue stared in disbelief at his wife and daughter on the life raft. He nearly knelt down, trembling with emotion: "Am I hallucinating?"
"Daddy! Waaah, Daddy!"
"Dad, come quick! Mom's still dizzy!"
Shen Jing glanced at Huang Ling, surprised that she was much stronger than she had imagined. After going through something like this, there was no trace of her earlier breakdown.
She went over and helped Huang Yue up, saying, "Master, they're all alright."
Huang Yue snapped out of his daze upon hearing the word "Master," and staggered a few steps to run over. He tightly embraced his wife and daughter, whom he had lost and found again, not wanting to let go for even a moment.
The onlookers glanced at the snowmobiles, seemingly casually, and were surprised to find them there!
Some of them were greedy and wanted to ask to borrow it.
Before Shen Jing could react, Huang Yue spoke first: "Jing, you watch over Huang Ling, I'll carry my wife up first."
His meaning was that Shen Jing should stay here and not leave the motorcycle even for a moment.
Shen Jing nodded and tapped the motorcycle with the stun gun.
"There's electricity here, do not disturb!"
Seeing the retreating crowd, Huang Yue felt relieved and carried his wife upstairs first. It was half an hour later when he carried Huang Ling up as well.
He patted Shen Jing on the shoulder with an excited expression, "Thank you! Thank you, Shen Jing!"
Shen Jing looked at the tears in his eyes, which slowly overlapped with the lonely look in his eyes from her past life, but in reality, they were no longer the same...
Huang Yue's excitement was infectious, and Shen Jing smiled happily too. Things can be changed, can't they?!
After saying goodbye to Huang Yue, Shen Jing continued to drag the life raft to the suburbs.
